“Superb stay and returning september”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2012

WOW What a great place to stay concidering the cost. From the pleasent welcome to the sea view apartment a perfect way to start our holiday. The location is excellent with a gate that leads to the sea so if you dont fancy walking along the road you can walk along the edge of the sea to the many beach bars, watersports and sandy beach past the bridge in the sea.Apartments are roomy with lots of space to store clothing etc.A kettle is all we need for tea in the morning as we like to eat out though apart from a toaster everything is there if you want to eat in.Bath and shower, now theres a novelty in Greece. There is a large swimming pool and pool bar serving all you need by a pleasent attendant.Must say the cleaners were fantastic calling ever day except sunday for obviouse reasons.I must say the receptionist was fantastic sorting out a problem which was of my own making.Thank you for all of your help in this matter. This hotel was recomended by friends and i thank them for this.Looking foreward to september and a return to Meridian.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view.very quiet as well away from the main road.

Just got back from another great stay in Argassi, been 5 times, stayed at meridien beach hotel 3 times, its location is perfect, the staff very friendly & it is spotless, apartments basic but you do get bath, shower & shower curtain, very unusual for greece, we had pool & sea view, for a nice meal go to papillion across the road, wonderful staff beautiful food & cheap, rubys for good breakfasts, if you just want a snack poldos is very good, for trips or car hire go to peter acrosss the road he is the best, if you can get a place round the pool its lovely, there is acess to the sea via a small ramp as well, so you have best of both worlds, but you have to up early to get a lounger, they start putting towels on about 6.30 in the morning, please dont be put off going to greece, the people are so friendly and they never forget you, they are so welcoming, cant wait to go again

We chose this hotel based on having read previous reviews posted on here and we were not disappointed, staying here for a week at the start of June.
The staff were friendly and hospitable and helpful. The rooms and public areas were kept spotless, our towels were changed 3 times during the week and the bedding once.
The room was adequate for the two of us, plenty of storage and living space and a large bathroom. The cooking facilities were very basic with only a kettle and a two hob portable electric hob, this did not concern us as we only prepared a bowl of cereal and a cup of tea each morning chosing to eat out for other meals as we always do on holiday...a toaster would have been nice tho, The fridge was very efficient.... freezing water and milk in the bottom when i turned it up full!!
Our room was on the top floor of the main bulding and only had the sun on the on it early in the morning hence the room was not overheated and we did not need to pay for air con.

We strolled down to the pool around 10am each morning and had no problem getting a sunbed, the only downside was that the sunbeds were the usual white slatted type and there were only one or two that didnt have splits in them which resulted in snagged towels if you werent careful.

The pool bar was handy selling hot and cold drinks both soft and alcoholic at reasonable prices. The young girl working in there was friendly and was forever cleaning the bar and pool area.

We hired a quad to do a bit of sightseeing, we looked at several hire firms along the main road and the quads looked a bit battered and unsafe so on the recommendation of Denise the receptionist we visited Sprint (out the front door turn left about 100yds on the left) and had an excellent quad with locking luggage box from a very helpful owner.

We ate out all the time and never had a bad meal...would thoroughly recommend Zorbas just across the road from the hotel as the food was excellent and portions were large.

There is no beach in Argassi just a couple of small areas of sand but there are numerous bars along the beach offering free sunbeds...they just expect you to buy a drink while you use them...i would recommend Waves beach bar for this which is right by where the watersports are on the beach.

All in all I would thoroughly recommend the hotel and would return to it

Room Tip: ask for a top floor room in the main building or at the end of buildings A or B for best views of th...

Our holiday on May 17th 2012 was our fifth time in Argassi and our second stay at this hotel. On arrival the receptionist was friendly and helpful and was pleased to allocate two rooms next to each other which is always a bonus when you are on holiday with friends. The rooms all have a sea view or a partial sea view as the hotel is located right next to the beach, and are well presented clean and tidy. The cleaners came round every day day except sunday. The pool area is well looked after and there seemed to be plenty of sunbeds despite having read reports elsewhere to the contrary. The girl in the pool bar was friendly and happy and served bottled beer, spirits, soft drinks, ice cream and food at a reasonable price. The self catering facilties in the room are a bit lacking, an electric two ring hob, a fridge, a few basic utensils and no toaster, though this was no problem as the nearby restaurants and taverners served some really wonderful food also reasonably priced. Either side of the hotel entrance is a supermarket and souvenir shop, so everything was just a few steps away from the hotel room.
Just across the road is Zorba's where friendly people serve excellent authentic greek food, and a short walk away is Legends. Kostas and his wife Martine, who are really lovely people have been running Legends for twenty years, Legends is a venue suitable for couples and families alike, serving a large and varied choice of food and drink, the all day breakfast is very good, choose what you want for 45 cents per item, then in the evening there are live shows and karaoke.
I would definately go back to this hotel, which I would describe as clean, friendly and excellent value for money in my favourite resort. Don't be put off from going to Greece because of what you see and hear about the "Eurozone" etc, this was a great holiday!

We stayed here pre-season in early May and the weather was cool so sea bathing was not important. The beach was rocky as expected but no where near the 2 metres advertised, more like 0.2 metres. Having said that this was only major downside. Room was pleasant self catering, large enough and cleanly decorated. Staff were obliging in allowing our choice of rooms. If you value a good night's sleep get a room as far from the road as possible as the clubs of Argassi are very noisy very late when they get into full swing.

Room Tip: Keep as far from the road as you can! A corner room gives a good breeze and better balcony view.

Stayed here for two weeks in September 11. We had a ground floor studio overlooking the sea, and it was just what we were looking for. In common with most self-catering accommodation in Greece, the cooking facilities were basic - fridge, kettle and two ring plug-in hob. However, this wasn't a problem as experience has told us that we'll rarely eat in the room anyway. The Meridien Beach is directly opposite the bakery in Argassi, so if we wanted a quick breakfast, we'd just nip over the road for a pie, croissant, cake (walnut - you must try this!). There is also a supermarket right next door. The pool area was clean, and the pool bar reasonably priced, and the snacks that we had here were fine - especially the English breakfast with village sausage. There are steps directly into the sea as well. Back to the room - I have to say that the one thing tht receives more complaints than anything else is always the bathroom. Well, this is certainly not the case at the Meridien Beach. The bathroom was well appointed, with a bath, overbath shower (with curtain, so no water all over the floor), and plentiful hot water. The location of these studios is also excellent - right in the middle of the resort, but we did not experience any noise nuisance whatsoever, and were gently lulled to sleep by the sea most nights. If I have to say one negative, it's that the staff were occasionally a little "distant", but this could be because I've got used to the welcome I have had in other studios where I've stayed for years and years. This is only a minor criticism. Overall, I would recommend this accommodation.

We got back from Argassi at the weekend and had a wonderfully relaxing week. The apartments were very clean and tidy - lacking a bit on the self catering front; however we did manage to make a chilli and a curry whilst there, as well as lunch every day. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. We got a taxi from the airport and it was 17 euros, much better than the organised transfers, when we arrived at the airport to return home it was about 10 minutes before the transfer buses and managed to check in without queuing - what a relief. The location is ideal, quiet and peaceful but not far from the bars and restaurants with a wonderful sea view. The cocktails in The Beer Academy were good and not expensive. We took advice from other reviews on here and ate at Peppermint, Zorbas and Ethnic. Peppermint had wonderful authentic Greek food - it is located on a little road opposite the church as you arrive in Argassi from Zante Town - the swordfish steak was massive and the lamb mouthwatering. Zorbas was nice and again authentic food but felt a bit cramped as very busy - but the best had to be Ethnic. The most wonderful friendly atmosphere and the spit roast belly of pork was to die for. If you are brave try their Moonshine but be warned you may wobble home. If the world wasn't so big and needed exploring I would go back at the drop of the hat.
