“Fantastic place! absolutely nothing to fault!”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

|As we are very fussy travellers we spent months looking for a place which would tick all our boxes. We were still very apprehensive when we booked Punta Prima Prestige as we are not fans of all inclusive holidays but we thought that it would suit better as this time we travelled with children.
I can only say there was absolutely nothing to fault, we had an amazing holiday and we only regret that we could not stay longer. The place is fabulous- spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The prestige area is quite secluded and you feel very secure and relaxed. All activity/entertainment is going on on the other side of the resort so Prestige area is an oasis of tranquillity and serenity.
The staff is fantastic! So friendly and caring. They can not do enough for you. We would like to mention our bar manager Jose and waiters Carlo and Luca and thank them for their hospitality and excellent service. They also organised a lovely surprise and a special breakfast for me on my birthday:-)
Receptionists are all very polite and friendly and always ready to help. It was very kind of them to send a bottle of champagne and fruits plate into our room on my birthday. I was really spoiled whole day:-)
Food was absolutely delicious. We had breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant Nuro in Prestige area. Fantastic choice for breakfast-cereals, different ham and cheeses, pate, fresh breads, pastries, big selection of fruits and juices, eggs and pancakes cooked to your order. Dinner – fresh lobsters, fish, langoustines, different types of red and white meats, including kangaroo cooked in front of you as well as lovely pre-cooked dishes. The only thing I would probably comment on is the dinner timing. We felt that our 15 months old baby was a bit struggling with a late dinner ( 7pm) as normally he is ready for bed this time. So we all would be happier to have dinner slightly earlier. However nothing spoiled our holiday.
We had lunch in the main restaurant on the other side of the resort. Probably not as posh as in the Prestige area but again variety of freshly cooked tasty dishes. Someone commented on kids menu serving chicken nuggets. We did not bother to look at kids buffet as our 10 years old and 15 months old were happy to eat paella, soups, stews and salads from main buffet.
Once we had a lunch in Italian restaurant El Faro which was fine. We also pre-booked table there for my birthday but then cancel our reservation and stayed in our main restaurant Nuro which was just a different class.
Our room was very spacious with a separate lounge and 2 bathrooms. It was cleaned every morning and beds were prepared every evening. It was located close to a private gate leading to the village and beach which was literally 2 minutes walk. Beach is lovely and very clean and really good for the families with small children. Sun beds (2) and parasol cost 15 euro for a day.
Pool area is fantastic and the bar by the pool serves drinks of a very good quality. Nice relaxing music, comfortable sun beds with thick soft mattresses and good quality towels provided! What else would you want?:-) As we were there in the end of the season, there was no problems to find a bed available, but I don’t think there is a problem in the middle of the season either.
There is a mini market on the main part of the resort. However, a village centre is much closer to Prestige area and has variety of shops and restaurants.
I had 2 treatments in the SPA which is located on the main side of the resort. They are quite pricy but Yolanda who did my treatments definitely knew what she was doing. Very professional and very enjoyable. Thank you:-)
Overall, we had a fantastic holiday! We would NOT:-) recommend this hotel to anyone as we want to keep it for ourselves. We are definitely returning back next year:-)

Half board in a hotel isn't the sort of holiday we normally go on, but we are so glad we chose this hotel this year.

Accommodation great - two lovely bathrooms, one sofa bed and one pull down bed - sofa bed a little narrow if your child is 10+ years I would say. Rooms, like grounds are cleaned to good standard, used towels even removed twice a day if need be. TVs with English channels- reception quite poor but we aren't worried about tv. Beautiful views.

Food - a real highlight - breakfast and dinner loads of fresh choices, not too much of the same buffet stuff. Fab chefs and waiting staff really patient and attentive with kids who tried all sorts of new dishes. Extra drinks a little expensive - but given the standard of the rest of the food and staff- worth it.

Kids dipped into fantastic kids club for sporty activities, my son loved the football with Fabio every day. We went to a few of the shows at the main hotel, some better than others, some very talented performers. Not much info given at the prestige part about what's going on at the other hotel, incl kids club unless you take a look at the activity schedule, you may not know, which would be a shame. Might be because we booked direct though rather than an operator. Like all other reviews state, the staff really make this resort - they are tireless, friendly and seem to enjoy their jobs.

Pool much much quieter than those at the main hotel which was a big plus, no issue re towels, beds etc. Water a little cold for my liking though (and others) ! There was a small shallow pool for tots.

Short walk to beach, which like most in Menorca (although we did a shocking lack of sightseeing due to the kids loving the hotel so much) is safe, clean, clear water and fine sand.

Highly recommend, esp for anyone with young families, although older ones will have enough to do as well. You will come back relaxed, rested and well fed. Kids are desperate to go back and am sure we will.

Our second family visit ( we also went last August ) The service is still top notch, location superb, staff friendly and accommodating.

We were again allocated a superb sea view suite overlooking the pool, we were on a half board basis ( family of 4 , 2 children 14 & 10 ) the breakfasts are very good with something for everyone, the chef cooking your bacon, eggs, omelettes to order ( he did seem a little overworked and he must have a memory like a computer ! )

Evening meals again were excellent, with Lobster , many different fresh fishes, fillet steak etc all cooked to order, as well as may pre cooked tasty dishes . The infinity style pool is a nice size and overlooks the sea, very clean and was a decent temperature.

All the sports facilities at the adjoining Club Punta Prima Hotel are available for residents to use.

A couple of negatives...we had Ants in the room which were a slight pain, we didn't mention it as I am not a fan of pesticides being applicated in our room , so be aware of that and let the staff know if its an issue.

Pool bar drinks, the price seemed to vary between staff, now I think 7 euro for a Gin & Tonic is top end even for a five star, but the following day I was charged 7 euro for the Gin and 2.30 for the Tonic ! ( Tonic out of the pump gun ) so 9 euro.30 for a G & T is a little absurd, but maybe I need to get out more ? so be aware and check your prices unless your A.I.

I would think reasonable prices would encourage more residents to drink at the establishment bars ( Lower margins higher volume ? )

If your younger children want the evening entertainment it all goes on at the Hotel next door as mentioned above.

Public buses every hour from the Hotel to the capital Mahon 20 past every hour, euro 6.60 for the four of us, and the boat trip around the harbour ( takes 1 hour ) is well worth it.

Lots of nice eateries in front of the beach at Punta Prima ( 2 mins walk from the Hotel ) we ate most lunches at Casa Fermin, very reasonable. We also had a nice Paella at San Canti also on the front.

Car Hire places also nearby. If you want quiet and relaxing this is the resort. Despite the niggles we will be going back to this Hotel next year .

Returned last week from Insotel Punta Prima and was impressed from the start. A beautifully maintained hotel in pristine grounds. A pleasure to walk around the gounds; manicured lawns and spotless grounds. Accommodation was, again, extremely clean and quite spacious. Comfy beds (even the sofa bed). Stunning sea views, especially from the North pool which was quieter than the main pool. Peak season but still pleasant for swimming. Masses of choice of food in the main restaurant. Great selection. Top brand drinks included in the all inclusive package. Kids could help themselves to drinks and icecream throughout the day too.
Very attentive, hardworking staff. The kids' clubs looked great, run by caring staff. My son loved the football matches. Entertainment was ok, although a few more professional singers would have gone down well in a resort of this kind. Mostly dance and miming. Nevertheless, we still had a relaxing time. Our experience was a very positive one. We'd love to return. (Quite a few people had returned for the third time, so that's always a good indication of the quality). Thank you, Insotel. Wish I was there now!

Room Tip: Book a first floor apartment (good balcony) and go to the North pool for a quieter time.

Have just returned from a fantastic weeks holiday with my 3 daughters 14, 10 & 6 at this lovely resort. We stayed in a Prestige Suite which was lovely. Clean, comfortable and very spacious. Two bathrooms, one with huge walk in shower which was extremely powerful jacuzzi bath and double sink. The second bathroom had a shower, which again was fantastic. The huge king size bed was comfortable as were the two sofa beds (according to the 14 & 10 year olds!). The suite also included a small kitchen area with fridge, sink & hotplates, however as we were all inclusive we only used the fridge to keep water cool! On arrival we went for lunch in the main dining room and the selection was fantastic. Huge salad bar selection, a choice of 3 paella's, fresh cooked chicken, fish & pasta. There was also a kids section with a selection of pasta, chicken and deserts. The selection of deserts and fresh fruit was brilliant. We ate here every lunchtime and the staff were very attentive and efficient. For breakfast and evening meal we ate in the Prestige Suites Restaurant which again offered a brilliant selection of cereals, fruit, pastries, pancakes, bread and much more for breakfast and fresh cooked meat & fish as well as salads, appetizers and deserts for dinner. Our waiter Luca was very friendly and attentive - my youngest daughter took a real shine to him. The Prestige pool was lovely very clean, alot quieter than the main pools overlooking the sea with plenty of sunbeds. All in all a lovely relaxing holiday and we will certainly be returning.

Pros: sea view rooms are well appointed near relaxing pool. Generally friendly and helpful staff. Maid service/cleaning staff very efficient. Range of sports/activities-squash, tennis, cycling.. Beach a few minutes walk.
Cons: evening entertainment is pretty dire and mostly consists of in house youth team miming to an appalling sound system; hotel of this size should be prepared to spend a little on professional performers/musicians. Poor restaurant availability apart from prestige buffet (where the waiters can be a bit slow and inattentive at times) as other restaurants get booked up a week in advance! Internet/wifi extremely slow as to be almost useless.

Was our second Trip to Menorca Island and we spend there a nice Beach Vacation Week and can recommend this good middle Class Hotel to others. When we made booking, we did not expect anything special, but during the time in the Hotel, we really saw, that they doing there a very friendly Service to the Guests. also the Food - Breakfast Buffet and Dinner - was fresh and nice decorated. Swimmingpool was very clean there. We had a Standard Room and we found that it was in a good average and top clean. Good Spa!!!
