“memorable holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2012

we stayed at this hotel in september 2011. had a lovely weeks holiday. the food at the begining of the stay was very enjoyable, but the standard did drop as the week went .beware the bacon at breakfast is very sweet cured bacon so a bit of shock ..the room was very pleasent overlooking the pool.but the ones at the back over looking the road looked very dark.the pool was cold but you did get used to it..the entertainment was different none of it in english and reminded me of the benny hill type of humor.very slap stick..the spa looked lovely and had a good variety of treatments. the onlydown point i would mention and its entierly myfault...the wardrobes have an inner hanging area and i very stupidly left a dress folded on the shelf..unfortunately when i rang once home ithadnt been handed in....so either the cleaner accidentaly threw it out or...........it was my fault and i should have done a more thorough check. but i know it was there so someone isnt telling the truth..the receptionist wasnt very helpful and quite abrupt on the phone.lesson learned be more vigilant.

We stayed in this hotel in October for 3 days, the average age was 70 and the average race was German. Dont expect to have a crazy environment.
It has a very nice breakfast and a more or less good dinner of open buffet.
Very beautiful children pool as well. Very close to the beach but a bit far from the center,so it can be a nice location if you are planning a holiday of eating and going to the beach.

We stayed at this hotel last summer and had a great time. The hotel is set in different colour blocks, each with a place name from Menorca. The rooms are very modern and we had a top floor room with a balcony. The dividing glass wall between the shower room and bedroom is quite revealing in the fact that when someone is showering, their shadow can be seen from the bedroom!! The restaurant was large with indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of choice.
About 5 mins walk to the seafront on a gentle incline. A row of restaurants and spar on the front. The pools look dark as the bottom of the pools are copper tiles to maintain the suns heat. Entertainment was good, a mix of both great acts and not so great. The spa was lovely and all in all, a great modern look hotel. The only thing that got on our nerves was the poolside entertainment, very annoying sometimes...repetitive. But that's just my opinion. But great for the kids.

Room Tip: Top floor had great large balcony and partial sea view and sunset.

we have recently returned from a week's holiday, where we found the complex clean and well maintained. Our room was small and comfy, but the balcony was a let down,as we could nearly shake hands with the people in the next building. Also it was like a wind tunnel which blew down the middle. We had to close our window to get changed etc. due to people across being able to see in. Our room lacked a full length mirror and tissues. The restaurant was clean and had a good variety of food over the week. Unfortunately it was piled high, so it soon became congealed in fat. The hotel is near the beach ,which was lovely, as is Punta Prima.

My partner and I stayed at the Barcelo Pueblo from 26th September - 7th October on a bed and breakfast basis. It was our first trip to Menorca and we were very happy with our findings.

The hotel is very modern and clean and has a good range of facilities. The entertainment wasn’t to our taste and the music around the pool was sometimes a little loud when you were trying to relax but didn’t cause us any issues. We visited the spa and had treatments which were lovely. The hydrotherapy circuit was excellent.

We were bed and breakfast and were pleased with the selection and quality of food. However we found the drinks in the hotel over priced so avoided purchasing drinks in the hotel and stocked up in the local supermarket and stuck to the restaurants along the beach.

The room was of an excellent standard and the maid cleaned our room daily. We did have a problem with our fridge on arrival and after contacting reception a maintenance man soon came and fixed it. The only problem was the walls are quite thin and the maids are noisy in the mornings. You can hear noise from the room above (maids/guests moving beds and chairs) but it didn’t bother us too much as we were up by 10am for breakfast.

Punta Prima is very a nice, clean area and there are a few restaurants along the front which offer a wide selection of food. We would recommend Can Santi and El Faro as the service is excellent in both and the staff are very friendly. Punta Prima beach is beautiful and the water is very clear. There were plenty of sun beds available on the beach and two well stocked supermarkets.

We hired a car from Auto Vallis in Punta Prima and the staff there were very helpful. As there isn’t much to do in Punta Prima, hiring a car is a must and a great way to see the island. Hiring a car for three days was great value for money. We also caught the bus to Mahon from outside the hotel and the fares are very cheap.

We went to see the dancing horse show (Somni) which was excellent. We drove to both water parks and both were closed. One was advertised as open all year and was closed until May and the other advertised as open 7 days per week and on arrival it was only open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. This was frustrating as they are across the other side of the island which was nearly a two hour drive.

We also caught the train in Punta Prima to Binblequer but we would not recommend that you get off it because there is nothing there and the train leaves you there for 3 hours! It was a long, hot walk back to Punta Prima!! Overall we found there was a good selection of activities and things to do once we had a car.

We would defiantly go back to Menorca and we would stay at this hotel again (maybe all inclusive) or stay at another hotel in this area. Menorca is such a beautiful place.

Room Tip: Rooms facing onto the pool and not onto the road

I have just returned from a fantastic holiday at the Barcelo Pueblo Hotel. It is very modern and clean with amazing faciities - especially for young children. We stayed 7 nights - my husband, 2 children (ages 3 and 1) and I, and we would have happily stayed longer. The food is very good and there is plenty of choice for different tastes. The swimming pools are wonderful and the childrens pools with the slides and fountains are just brilliant - my 3 year old son was in his element. Punta Prima is a very pleasant, quiet resort which is ideal for young families. It has supermarkets, nice restaurants, a nice beach and play areas with swings and slides for the children all within a short walk of the hotel. There is a land train which you can catch just down the road which gives amazing views of the coast and takes you to some lovely little fishing villages - highly recommended!
I was concerned when I read some of the reviews before we set off - but anyone reading this, rest assured you have made a good choice of resort and hotel - especially if you are travelling with young children. We hope to visit again in the future, and would definately recommend the hotel to others.

I'll do a proper review when I get home but sat in the pool bar reading other people's I honestly think some are not happy in life unless they are finding something to moan about! Been here 5 days on all in and apart from the rock hard bed which I will agree on I'm thoroughly enjoying the place. Food top drawer, service excellent, location quality, immaculate modern hotel, some cute kids and some top weather, looking forward to the next 9 days of my holiday!!
