Brilliant facilities, particularly the sports - really good tennis courts, good mountain bikes (lovely coastal bike ride) which are free to hire. We also did archery and rifle shooting with Allesandro who was excellent, very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. The "Champions League" football tournament final was brilliantly organised.l Both pool areas were really good and we didn't have any problems with getting sun beds. The food was really good and we enjoyed the Italian mostly during the day to give a bit more variety to the buffet in the evening. We also had excellent meals in the evening at the Italian and the Mediterranean restaurants. Rooms are comfortable and very clean. Evening entertainment is good and aimed at the family audience and the staff do really well. The Il Divo tribute act were excellent. The overall complex is really attractive and well set out and the resort is also very beautiful. Overall, great hotel and excellent staff.

Just returned from a week with the family (2 adults and 2 boys, 6 & 9) at the Insotel Punta Prima. Great week away at a very complete location.

Firstly, the geography - the complex is modern, vast and set upon a hill that descends down to the coast. The hill is great for creating amazing views especially from the top pool but a bit of a trudge to ascend at times. Can't imagine that anybody with any frailty or physical limitation would cope that well with it but there isn't that much at the top of the resort that is imperative to visit so provided you are located at the lower part of the resort you will have relatively easy access to the lower (main) pool, the restaurant and the bar / theatre.

A massive positive is the attitude of the staff who, with very few exceptions, appear to love their jobs and look cheerful as they look after you.

The food is another big plus and considering the number of guests to feed at each meal is a bit of a logistical coup too. The use of multiple dining halls with separate buffets in each works really well and ensures there are never really any queues or items running out. The quality and variety of foods each day was amazing with the fish and meat from the grill a particular highlight. Inclusive unlimited ice creams and drinks at poolside throughout the days also a major plus. Soft drinks, ice creams and alcohol are all major brands with the only minor negative being the fruit juices which varied tremendously from being quite nice to tasting alternately like undiluted squash to water with a hint of juice taste - this is the result I think of a concentrate plus water vending solution which doesn't deliver a consistent product. If you prebook you can have a meal at one or both of the 2 a la carte restaurants which I would recommend but we find that the Aire restaurant did not have much to interest the children (but is a gorgeous location with pool and sea views). The barbecue buffet served daily at the lower pool was also very good and allowed you to stay in swimming costumes rather than feeling that you had to smarten up to use the main restaurant.

The rooms are nicely kitted out and the beds comfy but on the firm side but the absence of WiFi in the rooms does seem a bit remiss for a resort which claims five stars. The only place to get WiFi was in reception and the theatre/bar and those I spoke to who used it said it was expensive and slow. Room for improvement here.

As to Punta Prima - a nice little settlement with a typical Menorcan bay beach with soft white sand and rocky sides. Good for snorkelling on calm days but most days we were there were breezy (nice when you are roasting poolside) and this creates choppy conditions that ruin visibility. Beautiful clean waters though that will not disappoint anybody with a number of popular restaurants behind (not that you likely to use them if you are all inclusive) and 2 good supermarkets and a pharmacy.

To sum up then, a large modern superior resort with great facilities, staff and food located in a smallish settlement with a nice beach and adequate amenities. A big plus is the short distance to the airport which makes for quick and painless transfers or a visit to Manon (which is well worth it).

Would recommend.

We have booked last minute, 7 nights and 8 days. We have been amazed by quick and efficient service at the reception at 2am after our delayed arrival. The resort knew about issues with our flight and prepared cold dinner which was fantastic quality. Rooms are a bit dated but clean and ok especially as we only slept there. Both pools are great, the upper one has fantastic views, but the lower one is more fun for the kids. 7.00 seems as a cut off time to reserve a poolchair by leaving a towel on it. Later there is a minimal chance. Some good trips - Mahon or a boat or jeep trip. At te resort there is expensive car hire, go to the village. Also I recommend little train trip to the fishing village - 4€/ person and a lot of fun. Overall, we are demanding travellers and this is one of places we would gladly return to.

We booked a 2 week stay at this resort and our first impression of this resort was one that exceeded our expectations. It has a beautiful view and is immaculate. This was our first time going All Inclusive so we were a bit nervous. I am pleased to say that the food was fabulous with lots of choice. The kids loved the drinks and ice-creams which were available during the day.
We went to the Italian restaurant on evening and although the food was excellent it was busy and the service was slow. This did not bother us too much as we preferred the buffet restaurant.
Our room was clean and of a good standard. We were in an apartment near the main pool and restaurant which we would like again. There is another pool at the top of the resort which was of a good standard but we preferred being near the bottom.
The pool was beautiful but like all other resorts I have been to you do need to get up early to put out the towels!!!!!
All staff were polite and helpful. They genuinely seemed to want everyone to have a good time. My son did archery and rifle shooting with Allesandro who was excellent, very knowledgeable and safety conscious while having a great sense of humour.
We played tennis quite a lot and we always were able to get a court at the time we wanted. Some of the moans I read on here I find frustrating but am very impressed with the Hotels response and they do seem to act on it. Wasps are a problem as they are anywhere it is hot and sugary drinks are plentiful...a good tip to the holiday makers is use the bins and not leave empty cups all over the floor!!! There are a lot of children, buggies etc because it is a FAMILY resort!!! and clearly states that on all advertising. There was never much of a queue for dinner on a couple of occasions people were waiting for outside tables but we never waited for longer than five minutes.
If you like a beautiful resort with a lovely beach this is the place to come.

Room Tip: If you have small children ask for a ground floor as the doors open out and children were always pla...

We booked this in the height of the season August 6th for 10 days with our teenage son and his friend. The complex is huge, comments like a glorified holiday camp are not far away! Don't get us wrong for kids and parents who want their kids taken care of in the activity clubs its spot on and definitely five star, the accommodation,we booked the superior with a sea view (not worth the extra £1,000) for the two rooms, these where very spacious and cleaned every day, mind you it does leave room for worry when you are booked all inclusive and you have a kitchen area!! This is where the Hotel lets itself down in our eyes, the main dining hall which is very nicely laid out but the food leaves a lot to the imagination needless to say we dined out every evening, we did expect this and had budgeted for it. There's two al a carte restaurants, you are allowed to book once, only if you can get in but frankly not that good. Now if the kids like fries with everything and you are a buffet salad lover then no problem. We chose to eat out at El Faro restaurant just along the footpath towards the little beech area food fantastic reasonably priced and the staff excellent try it out. The hotel staff we found a little grumpy except for the pool bar staff especially maria who was always smiling and helpful, the entertainment staff where also a credit to the hotel. Our boys did not join in any of the activities even though they had a club for 13-17 year olds and excellently run they chose to do their own thing. All in all to sum up great for families that don't want to do anything else or leave the camp and can stick the food but don't think we will be returning, however we will return to punta prima as this is a lovely area of Menorca

Dear guest
thank you very much for your time in writing your review, although I understand we did not cover your expectations about us. I am really sorried you found our staff grumpy, when most of our guest use to say they are really helpful and friendly, I will take that into account, as well as the fact your sons did not want to join our entertainment activities, in order to improve with this situations. Got back yesterday from a 7 day holiday and like other reviewers, wished we had booked for 14 days!

It is hard to find fault with this place.

Everything was exceptionally clean and tidy, lots to do during the day if you want to, whether with the animation team or not. The South pool area was fab, big enough for everyone, not too cold and just the right depth for little ones as well as more experienced swimmers.

Our accommodation was spacious, perhaps a little basic for a 5* but again, absolutely spotless and really, you are only there to get a shower and sleep, so as long as the beds were comfortable (they were) and the shower was hot and powerful (it was), there was nothing to complain about. (Bath towels are also lovely and big!) In fact, having the little fridge was great to keep our drinks bottles in that we took to the gym and squash.

I am not normally a fan of all-inclusive holidays as the food can be a little tedious, especially if not of a very high standard, but was really blown away by the quality, freshness and variety we were offered at this hotel. I did not eat the same meal twice in the main restaurant. We hardly queued for any of our meals and all staff were very polite and took us to our table. Definitely book the Italian and Mediterranean restaurants (when you arrive as they get booked up quick and are very popular) as being served makes a nice change, plus the food is just a little bit different too.

You do have to get involved in 'reserving' sunbeds first thing in the morning if you want one for the day. We did this a couple of days, but also found by mid-afternoon you could generally find some free ones to use. They are comfortable and there's plenty of overhead cover so you can always sit in the shade, great for those with babies/toddlers.

Overall it felt incredibly safe on the resort. I left my bag (hidden) whilst with the kids swimming and no one ever went near it. This was also the case in the restaurant. I did not think the charge for the safe was excessive (16 euros), or for the beach towels (20 euros per towel refundable deposit). You can change these towels up to 3 times a week. We did not take the wifi as we were told it only works in reception and the main bar, but who needs wifi on holiday anyway?

The weather was also fantastic, every day sunshine. Punta Prima is just a few minutes away right next to the beach. The beach is quite small and we didn't go there much as preferred the pool area. There are also a couple of restaurants, some shops, a chemist and supermarkets if you can't get what you want in the supermarket on site.

We took a trip to Mahon during our stay (1.65 euros each, each way) which is only 20 mins down the road. You can request an early breakfast too which is useful if you want to make an early start any day.

I would say we stayed at peak season and although there were lots of people on site (and lots of families with small children) we did not find it too noisy or cramped, even by the pool or restaurant. The bar did get busy at night, especially when the entertainment was on, but we got served reasonably quickly and it took no longer than getting served in a bar here in the UK.

Overall a big 10/10 for this hotel and complex. I am already saving up for next year!

Visited this hotel in May, instantly fell in love with the hotel.
Definitely 5 star! Food was lovely, the rooms comfortable and spacious (little dated in design).
As this was middle of may we didn't have the greatest weather during the week we only had 2 sunny days and rain for the rest of the week. We took those days to rent a car and go exploring, it is so easy to navigate around the island and there is plenty to see!

The entertainments team were amazing and despite the weather made sure they kept people's spirits high!

We would definitely love to return to this hotel during Peak summer with the hope of better weather.
