We chose this resort as we were attending a wedding in the area. We had booked a standard room, which turned out to be a bamboo cottage, beautifully constructed, but the uneven bamboo steps leading up to it appeared dangerous, the inside was dark and the mosquito net covering the bed was off putting considering the cost. We immediately upgraded to an excellent room just off the black sandy beach . The room, is spacious, with a large bathroom and dressing room. Extremely well fitted out. The only complaint we could find with the resort was the petty charge for the packets of tea and coffee in the room. This is the first hotel I have ever been in where they provide a kettle and charge p40 for a cachet of tea or coffee!!
The staff were extremely helpful , the gardens were beautifully manicured. The food was a little average and could be improved to meet more international standards. But all in all a good well run resort.

Room Tip: If on a budget the standard garden, bamboo rooms are ok, but for a 5 star room with a view, one cann...

We wanted somewhere quiet to stay and this resort certainly is quiet. The staff are lovely, only too willing to help. We are not divers so did not use the dive shop facilities. The rooms are beautifully decorated. The spa therapists were amazing. They certainly know their stuff.
My only criticisms would be the prices of things there. 40 pesos for a sachet of coffee? A shuttle to town would also be helpful as it is a long way out. We got stung for an airport transfer we didn't use due to our flight being cancelled in Manila. This was nobody's fault; however, if you are catching the late flight from Manila to Dumaguete be warned that they may cancel it if the airport is congested in Manila and you can't beat the sunset curfew in Dumaguete.
Overall a great place to stay if you are into diving.

I don't live here but i was here only for swimming and having fun under the sun! Good clean beach, pure water & beautiful environment! Here i ordered some eat and drinks right on the beach. Overall the place is good but prices are higher than in Dumaguete.

Stayed for one night for our friends beach wedding at the same resort. We were given a cottage near the main gate. Although it was clean and tidy, we just thought it was a bit overpriced for what it is. The steps were made of bamboo (so is the rest of cottage) we find it very dangerous coz one could easily slip and fall if not very very careful ;-( I had a hard time going down the steps in the high heels :-) coz I was way overdressed for my friends beach wedding lol... Anyway, even if wearing flat sandals or flip flops it is still dodgy going up and down those steps. Hope the management will do something about it. The staff are friendly and warm but they're a bit on the "slow" side when it comes to service especially at the bar area. Overall, it was a good stay.

Overall we really liked the resort and would stay there again, although I am curious about the other resorts in Dauin as there seem to be a few good ones

PROS
-really attentive lovely staff. When you arrive they give you a very professional introduction to the resort
-little service touches eg they leave a welcome palm leaf card on your first night
-the rooms are well done - good balance of simple and rustic but clean
-bar, pool and restaurant area are lovely
-good breakfast buffet
-food was very good
-overall great value
-the dive master Luca was fantastic
-professional dive shop
-good dive packages
-had a great day diving at Apo although I preferred Pamilacan and Moalboal's walls and sardines

CONS
-we had a problem with booking our dives - make sure your name is on the board - don't trust the dive shop to ensure a space is reserved even if you discuss it with them. The diving seems to cater to groups and dive holiday packages. There seems to be a real lack of equipment considering the large groups they get through. Also our dive master was not very friendly
-don't try climbing Mt Talinis - first of all its impossible to try to get to and then the hike is pretty average.
-the beach is not the nicest

The setting is beautiful. The beach is nothing to write home about but I go for the diving. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Other than the rock hard beds and the 2 inch flat screen.
The Filipino staff are amazing! The ex-pat staff members seem to be very rude to there Filipino staff members. Maybe they forget they are guests in there country. Dive shop and diving was terrific. Especially Apo island!!! Great dive guides and boat men.
The food was like any where else in the phils nothing to get excited about. They know they have you trapped so no happy hour and no good deals on mixed drinks. So I drank San Migs.
Over all it was a very nice place. I would definitely recommend it for a dive vacation. Not if your looking for a nice beach and a romantic getaway.
Oh yeah one of my biggest pet peeves are signs. I'm paying good money to stay in your resort. Don't tell me not to bring outside food or drinks onto the property! Really? They need every penny?

Being here as a participant on a diving medicine congress, I was impressed by the hospitality and willingness to improve of the staff. I was placed in a low budget appartment, called IDC because of the overbooking of the resort of the regular guesthouses. The place was clean, the shower part sufficient,, an airco was present but no safe-deposit or fridge.
Asking for them, the staff had them placed without comment within a day.
Also during the rest of the week, the staff of the bar, restaurant and breakfast room was extra-ordinary helpful and an example of hospitality.
A place to be recommended

Room Tip: colleagues were in the bamboo houses with some problems with mosquitos and insufficient nets against...
