I arrived in Phong Nha (Son Trach village) a couple of days ago with no real idea of how to get around or where things are. On the way into the village from Dong Hoi or Hue, this place is on the right side of the road. I came back as it advertised tourist information and it turned out to be a great find. It was the busiest place for dinner by far and also was the only place I could find to rent bicycles in the town (they do mopeds too). A little pricey at 130,000 dong for the day but it took me 40km through some rough terrain perfectly. The food is pretty good and it wouldn't surprise me if its the best in town. A good atmosphere too and there was a (mostly Vietnamese) open mic night when I got there! But the main thing is its the only place that seems to give good tourist information and they speak good English. I would highly recommend staying in phong nha (although the farmstay looks great too) and letting these guys help sort your visit out. Went to visit the farmstay today and they really recommended these guys' tours, although I didn't do one myself. Tom (UK)
