“Best thing I saw in Vietnam”
Reviewed February 14, 2014

My friends and I rented motos from Dong Hoi and rode to the national park, and visited the Paradise Cave. It was a quick, easy and nice ride to start with, and then the cave really blew us away.
After quite a long walk to the cave entrance (over 30 mins at a decent pace), we entered down the staircase. It really reminded me of something from a movie like Lord of the Rings. They have built an excellent wooden walkway, which seems quite natural in the environment of the cave. The walkway is a good kilometre or more long, and along the way you will see some simply fascinating formations amongst the stalactites and stalagmites. I had never seen anything like it before, and was completely taken away with it.
The caves in Phong Nha are really a must see if you travel Vietnam.

“A feast for the eyes and soul”
Reviewed February 9, 2014

A boat ride up a scenic river leads to a gaping maw in the mountain. The motor cuts off, the roof is drawn back, and you are oared into a surrealistic wonderland. Columns and stalactites of many colors capture the eye one after the other, remarkable with their resemblance to giant flowers and mushrooms. A u-turn offers new vistas of places you've passed. Then off the boat onto a beach-in-a-cave to wander around the majesty -- and to watch other tourists posing as if to improve on Nature's grandure with their presence. Step out into the sunlight to overlook the river once again to reboard the boat and savor again the verdant mountains. Very much worth the trip!

“Pristine”

The caves are overwhelming because the cave is so large and there are so many formations. The caves are so clean and very professionally maintained. If you like caves it is a must see.

“Worth seeing”
Reviewed January 21, 2014

The formations in these caves are impressive. It can be a bit touristy and you are going to get hit up along the way for drinks and coffee, but the caves are well lit in places where they should be and you can get impressive photographs on the ceiling and along the walls. Don't miss this if you can avoid it. As an adjunct to some of the other sights in the area it's a pleasant trip. Get a boat on your own, don't share esp with locals who smoke, sing, drink and eat. This is best enjoyed in complete silence. I got that good advice before I went and it worked.
