Great place to see wild animals from close proximity. Hire a guide. Will cost you Rs200 but worth it.

Calling this place a zoo is sort of an insult! It is a lot more than that. Wandering around in a well maintained jungle at more than 5,500 fee altitude is what this place offers. It is unlike what most of us would have seen in big cities. Animals are kept in large open enclosures measuring several thousand square feet. You can walk around in this large property and can also bring in your hired vehicle (100 INR / vehicle) and spend leisurely time. Best attractions here are of course the Red Panda and Snow Leopard. If you have kids, you must go to this place. If you don't have kids, you should still go :-)

We were able to see almost all animals they had (which were not many). Only thing attractive was that all animals were those you would find only in high mountain locales and not in all zoos. Saw Red Pandas, Clouded Leopard, Snow Leopard (sick), some civets and a few birds (5 to be precise).

Good place to visit if you have visited all important places nearby. The zoo is well maintained and clean. The animals look well fed unlike many other zoos in which animals look skinny and restless
