“A nice lonely beach.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2014

Its located off the East Coast road. It looks somewhat like a private beach, as the approach road is quite narrow. The road can easily be missed, as no one expect that road to lead to a beach. The parking is run by some locals in one of their compounds, its quite crammed. The beach is not maintained very well. But, its very peaceful not crowded unlike the other beaches. And there is no stalls or shacks you can find here. There are a few fisherman with their boats at some distance down the beach. A nice calm and peaceful place to spend the evening.

“One of the Better Beaches in Pondicherry.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2014

I understand why people are underwhelmed with this place. Its not a commercial beach popular with a few sunbathers and surfers. When we visited there were less than 20 tourists on the beach. It is not dirtier than other beaches in Pondicherry or for that matter even India. However it is quite peaceful and the sea is slightly rough than Paradise. So if you are interesting in surfing or bathing, this place is a way better option than Paradise Beach.
The beach is slightly off the ECR just before Pondicherry and the lane is very easy to miss. However accurate directions are available on the Google Maps. Its a very short strech of beach only occupied by the fisherfolk and there boats. There are no shacks selling food or drinks. There are stone path ways at frequent intervals where you can enjoy a peaceful evening.

“Best beach, must go”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2014

We were one of about 4 groups of people on the entire beach. A little rubbish, but nothing too offensive, and far less than you see elsewhere in India! There are some lovely flowers and it's nice to see the fishermans boats as you come to the beach.
If you are expecting bars and beach shacks you may be disappointed, I think there was one place selling food and drinks but we didn't go, having anticipated no amenities.
Handy location if you want to visit Auroville before/after, which we did. The sea was absolutely beautiful and we took a long swim.
If you are looking for a peaceful beach without hoards of people, and that's all, then you should definitely come here.

“Better to skip this beach”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2014

You can visit this place while coming back from Auroville city. It is very average beach without any kind of maintenance. No food stall available there and some local use this beach as their toilet. Not at all of worth to spend time. Approach road is also not good.
Note that Beach is same for Serenity and Auro beach and only they are separated considering access point/area. Better to skip and spend more time on Paradise beach
