Anantha Lodge is an old house converted to a small hotel. The old building has a great charm with traditional features that include plenty of inner courtyards for light and ventilation, pot plants everywhere, high ceilings, beautiful old furniture. Our room had a safe, wifi, a/c which we didn't use. It's located towards the north of Puducherry but it doesn't take long to walk to the French quarter - or 50 rupee yellow three-wheeler ride. It was also close to the main big market in Puducherry.
Frederick, the manager, was helpful with city maps and answering any queries we had. There's free breakfast making a good start to the day - choice of Indian or western. There's also a reasonably priced menu if you want food at any time - any time!
The room was well cleaned each day and the staff friendly.More
