It is not difficult to see why so many people return to this hotel each year. The location is good, the rooms adequate and the staff generally helpful. However our rating is based on our first time experience of this Hotel and indeed Minorca. The Hotel was full when we arrived and we were offered an upgrade from a sea view room to a Garden Suite. Whilst this was spacious it was situated in an annexe outside the main hotel grounds and bounded by footpaths used by the public. As the room was on the ground floor and detached from the Hotel it did not give a feeling of Security. The room was in need of refurbishment and the bathroom dated making it difficult to appear soptlessly clean. The room would be better described as a 'Family room'.

The decor of the Hotel is early 1970's and whilst generally clean and tidy it is due a make-over to compete with Hotels of a similar standard.

Most of the regular guests seemed to be satisfied with the food on offer in the Restaurant which only offers Buffet service. The range of food on offer is good but the quality of individual dishes dishes was poor. Many of the meat dishes were inedible due to the quality of the meat and the lack of expertise in the Chef. The fish dishes were occasionally OK but generally the quality was poor and lacked freshness. Would have preferred a much less range of options and higher quality of igredients.

We did have lunch at this hotel's sister hotel the Port Mahon and found the food to be much better in terms of quantity and quality and even received a biscuit with our coffee!

Room Tip: Sea view, main hotel, high floors may have A/C noise

This Menorca hotel is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed. Everyone of Ms Gabriela's (the Manager) staff could not be more helpful or happy to assist. Our partial sea view room was a good size and comfortable and the "partial" view was almost a full view. Food at breakfast and dinner were very good, quality of food not just good for a half-board hotel, but very good in its own right. Two things to note: 1) the Sant Tomas resort itself is not large and has very few facilities outside of the 5 or 6 hotels there; 2) the fortnight we were there, the percentage of UK guests at the Hotel Santo Tomas was perhaps as much as 90% of all the guests - our preference is to be outnumbered!

We went back to the Hotel Santo Tomas for a second visit after three years and were pleased to find it was still of a high standard, but even more pleased that the same staff were working in the hotel and not only that, but they remembered us!

The food is good the hotel is spotless, but what makes it for us is how friendly everyone is, it is a very very welcoming and relaxing place to be.

Just a tip if you want lively, then this is not the hotel for you and Santo Tomas is probably not the resort and thinking about it Menorca is probably not for you either, but for us it is perfect.

This was our second visit to the Hotel Santa Tomas and we enjoyed another excellent holiday there. The hotel had just opened for the season and it was good to see that the hotel had maintained its very high standard. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
The food in restaurant was excellent with lots of choices both at breakfast and dinner. It would be very difficult not to find something you like.We first visited the hotel in September 2011 and it was good to return to Menorca to see all the beautiful flowers along the costal paths near to the hotel. A relaxing time was had by all with plenty of sun beds and space around the hotel gardens. Combined with the beach only a few steps away from the hotel,We will certainly be returning to this hotel like so many of its existng customers.

Room Tip: The rooms on the front of the hotel have a unspoilt view of the beach

We had read the good reviews about this hotel on Tripadvisor, but the hotel is even better than described in the reviews. When you are staying there, it is like being in a big family, every one is very friendly, from the receptionists to the waiters and the lady cleaners.
The food is excellent, it's a buffet every night, but there is so much choice, that you don't get tired of it. The same for the morning breakfast buffet, too much choice.
No fighting over the sunbeds in the garden, enough sunbeds for every one.
A lot of people are returning year after year, and we do understand why, we will be one of the returning ones from now on.

We first visited HST with our daughter in 1999, and have returned almost every year since.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and several have worked at the Hotel for many years - a good sign of a solid, reliable holiday venue. From the ladies who turn back your bed and leave little chocolates on your pillow whilst you are having dinner to the accessible and accommodating hotel 'Director' you can be assured of good service.
Also worthy of praise is the ubiquitous restaurant manager who not only looks after guests at breakfast and dinner, but also leads another very friendly and efficient team at the Malibu garden restaurant and bar which overlooks a splendid (and safe) beach.
The hotel location is ideal - little more than 5 minutes from your bed to a pre-breakfast dip in the sea or, should you prefer, a leisurely stroll along the seafront path.
The hotel pool and well maintained gardens offer relaxation during the day - G&T or a pot of tea by the pool mid-afternoon? No problemo ! - and on some evenings the hotel provides a variety of musicians for the 'Strictly' aspiring dancers in the Malibu bar.
Apart from the hotel bar - Bar Ficus - which continues to serve drinks until the last guests have retired, the immediate surroundings of the hotel effectively shut down at 1100hrs so a peaceful night's sleep is guaranteed.
The Hotel's public areas are spotless, the rooms are well appointed and the bathrooms are as you would expect in a hotel of distinction.
Yes, it is more expensive than the neighbouring hotel(s) but it's smaller and we feel we can't be looked after any better. The only question remains..... next year, will it be two (or three?) weeks in June or September ? .....

Room Tip: Suites have large balconies and good views

We returned to this hotel again this year for our third visit in recent times but have yet to qualify for the status of "Club" ranking as acquired by some guests by dint of their annual attendance. Their repetitive behaviour can however be accepted, given the welcoming and efficient staff, fine facilities and wonderful location of this hotel that overlooks a picturesque bay. The public areas are maintained to a high standard with the bedrooms being reasonably spacious and provided with balconies. The restaurant offers an extensive, albeit somewhat predictable, menu with a timetable to suit most ages and persuasions. In addition, the pleasant grounds and proximity to a lovely beach provide that final touch for a truly relaxing holiday.
Those that select a venue based on its nocturnal activities would be disappointed; all others just sit back and enjoy.

Room Tip: Book a sea view; it's worth it!
