We had read the good reviews about this hotel on Tripadvisor, but the hotel is even better than described in the reviews. When you are staying there, it is like being in a big family, every one is very friendly, from the receptionists to the waiters and the lady cleaners.
The food is excellent, it's a buffet every night, but there is so much choice, that you don't get tired of it. The same for the morning breakfast buffet, too much choice.
No fighting over the sunbeds in the garden, enough sunbeds for every one.
A lot of people are returning year after year, and we do understand why, we will be one of the returning ones from now on.

We first visited HST with our daughter in 1999, and have returned almost every year since.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and several have worked at the Hotel for many years - a good sign of a solid, reliable holiday venue. From the ladies who turn back your bed and leave little chocolates on your pillow whilst you are having dinner to the accessible and accommodating hotel 'Director' you can be assured of good service.
Also worthy of praise is the ubiquitous restaurant manager who not only looks after guests at breakfast and dinner, but also leads another very friendly and efficient team at the Malibu garden restaurant and bar which overlooks a splendid (and safe) beach.
The hotel location is ideal - little more than 5 minutes from your bed to a pre-breakfast dip in the sea or, should you prefer, a leisurely stroll along the seafront path.
The hotel pool and well maintained gardens offer relaxation during the day - G&T or a pot of tea by the pool mid-afternoon? No problemo ! - and on some evenings the hotel provides a variety of musicians for the 'Strictly' aspiring dancers in the Malibu bar.
Apart from the hotel bar - Bar Ficus - which continues to serve drinks until the last guests have retired, the immediate surroundings of the hotel effectively shut down at 1100hrs so a peaceful night's sleep is guaranteed.
The Hotel's public areas are spotless, the rooms are well appointed and the bathrooms are as you would expect in a hotel of distinction.
Yes, it is more expensive than the neighbouring hotel(s) but it's smaller and we feel we can't be looked after any better. The only question remains..... next year, will it be two (or three?) weeks in June or September ? .....

Room Tip: Suites have large balconies and good views

We returned to this hotel again this year for our third visit in recent times but have yet to qualify for the status of "Club" ranking as acquired by some guests by dint of their annual attendance. Their repetitive behaviour can however be accepted, given the welcoming and efficient staff, fine facilities and wonderful location of this hotel that overlooks a picturesque bay. The public areas are maintained to a high standard with the bedrooms being reasonably spacious and provided with balconies. The restaurant offers an extensive, albeit somewhat predictable, menu with a timetable to suit most ages and persuasions. In addition, the pleasant grounds and proximity to a lovely beach provide that final touch for a truly relaxing holiday.
Those that select a venue based on its nocturnal activities would be disappointed; all others just sit back and enjoy.

Room Tip: Book a sea view; it's worth it!

There are only superlatives to say about this hotel.
Our room had a great sea view. It was a good size as well, with good cupboard space, and a nice 4 piece bathroom, and kept very clean by the maid.
The buffet meals were so tasty, and a huge choice. English, Continental, and Menorcan dishes.
All the staff, and the Thompson rep, were very friendly and helpful.
Everywhere was kept really clean. They even hose the sunbeds down first thing in the morning.
The pool was a good size, and the beach was right outside the garden gate. There was plenty of space in the hotel gardens, and plenty of sunbeds available when we went in late May. We were also blessed with perfect weather all week.
The beach snack bar was good, if you wanted to eat during the day.
The atmosphere of the hotel was so relaxing, and we found the garden by the pool, a really nice area.
Nice evening walks along the coast path. The best views are had if you turn right when you go out of the garden.
The hotel seems to be best suited for older adults. Not a lot for children to do there.
The entertainment in the evening was nothing to shout about, and seemed to be geared more towards anyone over 40ish!
A great holiday was had by my wife and I, so much so, we have booked again for next year.

Found this hotel and resort 3 years ago and have been back every year and will continue to do so. What a treat to go somewhere where you can just relax, feel safe and enjoy the friendliness and politeness of not only the staff but also the other holiday makers. This is the hotel where you can go back to year after year and meet your friends from the year before. The staff are the same and welcome you back like one of the family. A good resort for very young families or older couples or even newly weds who want to be alone. Not a resort for teenagers or 18 to 30's, (come on you have lots of resorts to choose from for that type of holiday). Resort has good safe beaches, no deep sudden drops or currents, plenty of lifeguards and the water is warm. Enough little shops and supermarkets and tavernas for a small resort. Hotel is very clean, bedrooms are comfortable and the food is fine. There is enough choice of food to suit all kinds of tastes and diets. At the end of the day, a hotel is only bricks and mortar it is the people who work there and stay there who can make or break it. This one is a gem, try it and you will be hooked, believe me.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a seaview if you can otherwise you may overlook the front facing the resort.
