“How village pubs should be”
Reviewed June 24, 2014

We booked a room just for the one night, staff and everyone we met were very friendly. Very well kept, clean King studio. Our dog was made very welcome, sorry to the lady with the setter that our dog was not quite so friendly back. Food was great value, service good a great area outside for watching the village go by. Will stay here again if in the area. My only negative was that one side of the bed was noisy.

Sorry about the squeaky bed – we are looking to replace this when we can afford to. Don’t worry about Carys the Red Setter, she’ll get over it! Otherwise we’re so glad you enjoyed your stay.

Was treated to a pre birthday meal here by my family. I had the fruity chicken Korma, it had tiny baby tomatoes and cashew nuts in it. It was delicious, fresh and hot. Service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. I will defiantly be visiting again and will recommend to my friends

Glad you enjoyed one of Chef’s curries. There are normally six or more on Thursday to cater for every taste. For the non-curry eaters we always have alternatives on the specials board.

We stopped here for lunch as part of a lovely walk in the area. The staff were could not have been more friendly, charming and helpful, and the food was fantastic; a sunday roast of welsh lamb, served with beautifully cooked vegetables, followed by fab sticky toffee pudding and a pavlova. All home made, absolutely delicious and well presented. the weather was good so we ate out with a picturesque view of the church. Excellent value, so all in all a brilliant find, we'll look forward to returning.

We’re guessing you visited us on a Saturday as that’s when we offer lunchtime light bites or something more substantial. You’re right nothing beats sitting outside in the sunshine in this idyllic location. We hope you’ll come again to try our other walks

As an Australian on holiday, I was delighted to come across this wonderful pub, tucked away in a picturesque village in the Vale of Clwyd. I loved the concept of a community run pub. Food was fantastic, as was the friendly service. The slow cooked beef pie was one of the tastiest I have ever had and the veg were hot and fresh. Extra butter for the new potatoes was brought along on request. Another member of our party had Fish and chips, and said the batter was exceptionally light and crispy. We were told it was made from the real ale sold here plus soda water. Reluctant to share this gem of a place, but too good to keep a secret!

Set in a quiet village and run by the Community we were really pleased to have found this Inn. Had a nice friendly welcome and the room itself was spotless, cosy and well equiped for self-catering. Sadly we missed dining there as the chef has Wednesday night off, but the community shop a few doors down was well-equiped and had everything we needed. (Tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid was already supplied.) You can come and go as you please, which was really handy as we were out by 5.30 am to do some bird watching. (Grouse Lek at Coed Llandegla Forest - 10 minute drive away)
