“Great location,brilliant staff,now I'm struggling!”
Reviewed January 18, 2014 via mobile

If your visiting Los Cristianos, this is the location, right in the middle of everything. The staff are lovely, can't do enough for you.Bedrooms face three aspects, take your pick between, noisy church square, derelict building site,or recycling bins,it's not even your choice,as despite your request the hotel picks your room!Rooms are ok,beds great, pillows less so.No tea/coffee facilities(hire kettle or take your own,4 star?)Pay for room safe and wifi,4 star?Breakfast is just about ok.We've stayed a couple of times but I doubt we will return.

I had to stay one night in this hotel as it was close to the ferry terminal as I missed the last ferry to La Gomera. This in my view is a 3 star hotel but cost €170. The decor is very tired, the water for a shower luke warm, the safe for valuables in the room cost extra, as did a coffee at breakfast even though breakfast is included ? what ?? Staff were nice though. I got the impression it had been bought by someone who is absent and wants to squeeze every last drop out of it's customers.

I love the location, and most of the staff are friendly and helpful, but I must admit the Reveron Plaza is looking dated now.

We had a high floor room facing the church, so we were woken up at 8.00 am every morning, which was no hardship as we never missed breakfast. The shower was hopeless, we tried various positions, but each time we managed to almost flood the bathroom floor, so we stuck to having baths. Most days we had warm baths but by the end of the holidays we only seemed to get Luke warm water.

The bedroom was bright and clean, with plenty of storage. The beds were hard but not so hard you couldn't sleep. There are a few English speaking tv channels, if you want them, but you are on holiday, enjoy the surroundings.

Breakfast was ok with the usual choices of cheese and ham, eggs, bread, croissants etc. plus a full English.

The roof pool is still on the cool side, but refreshing and new sun beds are available for guests, which are very comfortable. the views from here are beautiful.

The location can't be more central, with loads of restaurants, bars and shops on your doorstep. The beach is only a five minute stroll.

Great traditional hotel in the centre of Los Cristianos, having just read recent reviews yes it is in need of a little updating, but I think for the price is a fair reflection of this .
The bedrooms are large with plenty of space for hanging clothes, cleaned spotlessly on a daily basis and with a fridge .
Yes the breakfast can be an experience but who is in a rush on holiday.
If I had a real moan it would be about paying for wi fi it just seems crazy that you are advising your guests to go the nearest bar/café as it is free when you own bar is empty all night long
This was my third visit and will plan to go back again

Stayed here for a week Dec 2013. The hotel is nicely furnished and the rooms are a fair size and spotless. The bathroom shower was the worst shower i have ever experienced in a hotel i would have been better just having a wash-down. The dining room is old fashioned looking and badly laid out. The routine is that you sit at a table and staff ask if you want Tea/Coffee. you then help yourself to cereal or cold meats, cheese bread etc. (only problem is they don't put out enough and you end up trying to find a member of staff to replenish it ) However if you want a cooked breakfast then you have to order it. I got the impression that everything was geared to save money, even to the discomfort of the guests.
The pool area on the roof is lovely. Clean with plenty of sunbeds ,however if you want a snack or a drink from the pool bar you have to pick up the phone and dial a given number and a member of staff will come up from the kitchen ,take your order and go and prepare it. Its the same at night with the main hotel bar. most times there was no member of staff present and the receptionist had to phone the dining room to get the member of bar staff who was doubling as wine waiter in the restaurant come down and prepare drinks. There is nothing here to encourage guests to remain in the hotel and there is absolutely no atmosphere present. Bar staff are lovely and attentive but its obvious that management are cutting corners when it comes to paying staff
The hotel charge you for Wi-Fi when small restaurants round the corner provide it for free.
Drink prices in the hotel bar are on par with the area.
The hotel is in a great location with bars restaurants nearby, and its only a 8 min stroll to the playa .
I was informed this is a family run hotel. Well, it could be a superb hotel with the right team running it. As I said in my title "stuck in a time warp ". just about sums it up

Hotel building and location.
Small, about 4 floors with a dozen or so rooms on each. Traditional style with cool rather dark interiors and classic tile floors. Small sitting areas on each floor. Wrought iron balconies and Spanish style furnishing. I thought it was a old building, but was told it was build about 12 years ago?

Conveniently located at the point where the concentrated tourist area fades. Walk a few yards downhill to reach the restaurants and tourist shops, uphill towards the more suburban area.

As many have mentioned a room overlooking the church square will give an interesting view of locals and tourists going about their business. Not particularly noisy, just a gentle throb of the crowd and some light traffic. The church bells were not intrusive.

Pool on roof-top with plenty of sun-loungers.

Rooms.
Normal size with fair facilities. Nothing outstanding, clean and in good state of repair. A fridge and a safe, which is chargeable. A gripe - hotels should be secure, a safe should be included, not extra. The hotel’s warning that it takes no responsibility for losses is not good enough, it is their staff have who have easy access. In effect what they’re saying is “we don’t trust our staff, you must use a safe, and by the way we will charge you.”

No kettle or coffee facilities in room, unless you pay 5 euros per week extra for kettle.

Hot water only warm sometimes, evenings usually.

Food.
If you’ve stayed in a British b&b you’ll be familiar with the breakfast. Small buffet, physical size and choice, i.e. 3 cereals, fruit, cold meats, processed cheese, yoghurt etc plus English breakfast ordered and waitress served. Buffet items often ran out and had to be requested, pretty poor.

Staff in restaurant look a bit unhappy, maybe because of under-manning. We had to attract their attention on several occasions, otherwise you could get ignored.

Bars
Small bar and lounge area. Good choice of drinks and not expensive for a hotel. Very quiet, almost hushed, no music or entertainment.

Service
Just about OK. I don’t think staff have been trained in the new-wave of hospitality culture that’s been introduced into the big chain hotels recently. We got food served, things fixed, the room cleaned when we wanted (sometimes), but there was a certain lack of urgency, humour and sparkle shall we say. Not a deal-breaker.

Other.
Wi-fi chargeable, many hotels squeeze a bit more money out of clients using this, but why can dozens of bars provide it free if you spend a euro or two, but the hotel doesn’t - even when you spend hundreds?

Summary.
Great location, a big change from the mega hotels we often choose, we enjoyed the change and would return, even with some of our gripes.

If interested, I will be posting restaurant reviews for El Cine, Foelele, Tasca Cas Paco, Restaurant Gomeron and Meson Iberica, all traditional Spanish, together with Margarita’s – a steakhouse. These restaurants are a stroll away, Margarita’s a 5 min further walk.

Room Tip: Church Square for watching the world go by. Back of hotel for sun in the morning and early afternoon...
