We are a family of 5, 2 adults, 2 teenage boys and an 18 month old, just returned from a 11 night stay in Paradise Park.

Pools - There are 4 pools, a rooftop one which looked really nice, but as it’s adults only we couldn’t use it. There was another adults pool area quite small and secluded which also looked nice. Then there are 2 main family pool areas. The heated one, which was always busy, bordering on overcrowded and rarely a bed free after 10am (be careful with little ones around pool as it’s slippy coz surface has worn off the paving in many places) Bizarrely the other family pool isn’t heated and therefore was really quiet, probably only around half the beds taken, it’s a nicer open environment and should be heated to encourage a more balanced spread of family’s over both pools.
This is no fault of the hotel itself but we had 4 towels and a baby’s wetsuit taken from our sun beds, we tried lost property on a few occasions and reception too but to no avail. Extremely disappointing that someone would stoop so low as to do this.

Dining & Drinks- on the whole the food was average, and very repetitive leading us to eat out on a number of times. The main food hall had a very canteen type feel to it.
The service from the waiters and waitresses was okay in general, but a special mention should go to Diana López who stood out from the others with excellent service with a smile.
Drinks- There are a good range of soft drinks available all day long, juices, fizzy drinks and slush although the more times than not they weren’t working. There is San Miguel on draft in a couple of bars, not available at all bars. The beers is self service which is good as an option, but a table service is something we’re usually accustomed to when on holiday, but this wasn’t the case here.
Some cocktails were all inclusive but the more popular ones if you like, were not.
What is really disappointing is that the all inclusive stops at 11.00pm!! We were rarely out after that time as we had a baby, but if we were traveling as a couple that would be different. As my son said, it should be called “nearly all inclusive”

Rooms - we requested to move rooms (not something we’d usually do) as we couldn’t access our room without going not only down 1 flight of around 10 steps, but also up another flight of steps as well! A building design flaw that could be easily fixed. Why we were placed in this block (block 560-69) I’ll never know as the hotel knew we had a baby.
We were swapped to another room with no access issues but it took 3 days, meaning we couldn’t unpack and settle in. The reception were helpful when dealing with our room change and were very friendly throughout our stay.
All blocks starting 260-69 through to 460-69 have balconies overlooking a service road to back of shopping mall. We struggled to sleep at night from the bars karaoke going on till 12am and were woken in the early hours by deliveries, bottle bank collection etc.
In both rooms there was a awful drain smell in the bathrooms, when mentioned to the reception they sent someone up with a room purifier - not the
solution we were hoping for.
Also there was no ventilation in either bathroom, no window, no fan.
The plugs in the sinks did not work, which made it awkward when washing the baby’s bottles. It was just our room as we spoke to 2 other guests and they said the same.
Another thing that we didn’t like was the fact that in both rooms we only had 2 single beds pushed together, this is simply not good enough.

Entertainment- we found that the hotel catered mainly for kids up until around the age of 12. We have 2 teenagers and there was nothing aimed at them. In other hotels we’ve stayed in the animation team have always been more present, and have always done a daily song/dance by the pool, this lifts the atmosphere and gets everyone involved, there was nothing like this. Having entertainment for our kids is a major thing when going on holiday and I feel they lack catering, connection and activities for teenagers, and adults too for that matter, it is something that really lets this hotel down.
The evening entertainment was a kids mini disco, followed by different entertainers coming in, this was very mixed in quality. The best act was the female magicians and Ed Sheran tribute who were both very good. The rest were rather lacking.
Be prepared to get there early though for a seat, as like the pools, there aren’t enough seats for the amount of people that are there.

Location - the hotel is way way back in the resort located at the top of a hill, not too bad walking in, but hard after a day on the beach. It takes around 15mins to the beach, and another 10 mins again into the main beach front area.
There is a free mini bus every 30mins from the hotel that runs to the beach and back, but beware if you’re not there early on the return rides you may not get a seat (speaking from experience)

In conclusion I’d say this hotel would be suitable for family’s IF they get a room with a pool view, have children under 12, and are not concerned about being in a good location.

I have given this a 2 rating as for me the negatives out way the positives. To be fair however I will list both.

We travelled with our 2 young children of 8 and 4.

Positives:
The hotel is very clean. Everywhere. I can’t knock it at all as everywhere was very well maintained and they were very thorough on cleaning both inside and out.

The reception staff were very helpful at all times, throughout the whole stay. The kids club staff are equally as good and friendly too.

The adult only rooftop bar was heaven. In fact you’d think you were in a different hotel up there, however be prepared to pay, even on all inclusive.

Negatives:

Lots of pools around the hotel, but only the very small one is heated. The rest are absolutely freezing! So be prepared for the entire hotel (and yes it is a MASSIVE hotel!) to be squeezed around one tiny heated kids pool. It’s ridiculous, expect to start queuing at 8.30am for a subbed then have the frenzy that goes on in the first few seconds they open the pool. I’ve never witnessed anything like it!! The other pools however are deserted cause they are so cold and such a long walk away from the rooms. Not enough sun beds or space around and it gets so overcrowded.

The room we were staying in was a junior suite with annexe, however I would have called it a very dark and dingy cramped hotel room with very little space. A family of 4 does not fit into one of these ‘upgraded’ rooms at all and I’m still trying to fathom how they can call it a junior suite with annexe?? The bed was horrendous, and the room was so noisy. I don’t think I had a decent nights sleep all week.

The restaurant is very much the same as the pool, just not big enough. Expect to queue for your table then fight your way around the overcrowded buffet. Just not big enough for this size of hotel. Food however wasn’t bad for all inclusive and was quite varied.

The entertainment program wasn’t too bad but the bar it is held in is again very dingy and uninviting. And yet again just not big enough and so is very overcrowded and people fighting for seats etc.

Overall I just wouldn’t return to this hotel. There was a few points that really didn’t make for a relaxing holiday. The overcrowding for me was the worst, they really need to address this problem, as well as the dismal room and the equally dismal downstairs bar. I think it is geared more for adults only and not for families with children.

I really don't understand how any of the reviews here can have had such a bad experience?

We stayed for the first week of April and there is literally nothing to complain about.

FOOD

Plenty of choice - masses of different options - several cooks are always cooking up fresh fish / pork / beef etc - in the mornings they will prepare poached eggs / omelettes to your preference etc.

Also there is a small persons buffet away from the main adult areas though my children wanted stuff from the main sections.

I think the staff do a terrific job of mass catering - it's not going to be a la cart dining for 800+ people every meal - but the food was more than acceptable - and there were lots of interesting local dishes.

DRINKS

Locals drinks were all included - as much cava / wine / spirits / cocktails as you required.

Some of the bar staff were great fun and got to know my drinks - and usually had them poured even before I had ordered - awesome!

A big shout out to one of the guys (Yaray? - sorry can't remember the name now).

ROOMS

We had a [large] family room with separate bedrooms plus dressing area - beds were nice and firm - all rooms were fully cleaned every day.

POOLS

I see some complains about the pools, but again why? There are four separate pools, two of them reserved for adult only use. The pool across the road is accessed via room key and is terrific.

There is currently a ban on inflatables (apart from baby seats). The hotel did have a drowning in 2018 ( a four year old left to his own devices in a pool) - make what you will of that...I think the staff are being extra vigilant with inflatables - there were very attentive life guards on duty the whole time of our stay - so I can't fault them for that.

There is always a mad dash for sunbeds in the morning - but that is the same regardless of where you stay. If you leave stuff unattended for over 60m the staff will sometimes remove your belongings and leave a ticket on the bed - we did see this happening a number of times - so again fair play to the hotel (I wished they would enforce it even more).

ENTERTAINMENT

There are full separate adult & child entertainment programmes both in the day and into the evening.

They had a varied range of evening performers - IIRC there was a Blues Bros tribute (hilarious), a balloon modeller (sounded dreadful but he was wonderful and very funny), A magician (again, incredible) plus a number of singers.

All in all the entertainment was great and a million times better than expected.

We had the basic 'all inclusive' option - there is an upgrade available - @ €18 / person / day - from what I could tell this just gives premium label drinks and cocktails plus some use of the spa.

I see some complaints about this - but it's fully mentioned in the brochures etc so can't see what any moaning is about...probably from people who moan about everything - and then get treated accordingly.

Will definitely come back - ignore the bad reviews - be nice to the staff and you will have a fab time here!

Room tip: Some rooms are better than others for disabled use ( I am informed) - worth phoning the hotel beforehand and discussing needs in advance.
