“Comfortable and clean hotel trying hard to please.”

We selected this hotel for ratings on food quality and its location. We were not disappointed.
This hotel was booked through a Thompson package, being the cheapest option we found for 14 days from Bristol, UK.
The hotel is situated at the far end of Los Christianos (eastern end) which suited us as it was quiter with no passing promenade foot traffic. Also several walks in the hills started from a few yards frrom the hotel which suited us.
The hotel was pretty full, and by far the majority of guests were British. Very few Germans, some Belgians and the odd French family. Most guests were in the retired category, many we talked to regularly use this hotel. Very few children or young couples. So the ambiance was quiet and calm !
Our room was on the ground floor, overlooking one of the 3 pools. We liked our room - plenty of room, wardrobe space and nice bathroom. The room balcony was private with full height side partitions and comfortable loungers. We were not overlooked on this balcony. The room was furnished reasonably and perfectly clean. The maid service was excellent, and the maid left the room and bathroom spotless each day. For package tour guests no tea making facilities, nor free of charge room safe were provided. They are for direct bookers. However we allowed for this and took our own tea/coffee making cup heater etc so no problem !
Food - the breakfasts and evening meals were taken in a spacious lounge with very pleasant direct sea views - in the evening lovely setting sun backdrop. The table waiters were very quick and efficient - always clearing plates away before we returned with next course. All meals were buffet style. Food was plentyfull but not particularly imaginative - dishes were basically UK style. Actual food quality was fine, but after a while it all seemed to taste the same !
Evening entertainment was fine for us. A pianist entertained in one bar, and a cabaret/dance music set up was in the other bar. The cabaret acts were OK - sometimes excellent, and other times competent, Over two weeks no act was repeated.

Summary - we liked best:- spacious ambiance of hotel, its quiet location, cleanliness of whole hotel, and friendly staff. We liked least:- petty charge for room safe& tea making,no drinks with evening meal other than purchased water, wine etc. However on balance this was the best hotel we have stayed at in Tenerife, and would return here if we return to Los Christianos.

My boyfriend and I wanted to stay somewhere quiet away from noisey nightclubs and Stag parties and we were not disappointed. This hotel was very impressive. It was clean, had great sized rooms with comfy beds (although ours was two double beds pushed together so I kept getting lost in the gap). The food was absolutely gorgeous with such a wonderful selection and a different variety each evening. The pools were well maintained and the service good. The entertainment was ok but was more suited for the over 50s (I'm 35). Definitely recommend a sea view room on one of the higher levels so you could take in the surroundings (we requested this when we booked) and got exactly what we requested. The room service was great.

After the end of the week I was craving a bit of noise and a good party but then we did deliberately choose this hotel for its quietness. Playa Las Americas was only a 10 minute taxi ride away and a couple of nights we went out for a bit of nightlife. I have heard that we went during a very quiet time (beginning of August) but the hotel livens up around October/November so depends what suits you best.

My boyfriend and I would definitely come back to this hotel but maybe next time in October.

Once again I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Arona Gran and even stayed in the same room 467 as the previous year which I requested.

We checked in here after 1 night at the Princesa Dacil, and what a difference. We were unable to book it online without sending an email and waiting for the rate to come back, so we walked in and booked it at rack rate - you could probably get it cheaper through an agency or tour operator.

We were shown a room on the ground floor, at the end of an atrium. Our balcony overlooked the promenade and a bit of a grotty beach, but had a view out to the harbour which was spectacular. At night we left the patio doors open so we could hear the sea. The room itself was large, and spotlessly clean (a treat after the Princesa)

The pool area was clean and well maintained and both pools were heated. We were easily able to get sunbeds and towels. There was a pool bar which served coffees, drinks and also lunch. Inside from the pool was a lounge area with some pool tables (3) which were never all taken.

The hotel is situated right at the other end of the promendae from all the shops and restaurants - we enjoyed the walk back at night although I guess som emight feel it was a bit too far away. The last part of the walk had few restaurants but felt perfectly safe.

We had breakfast at the hotel but not dinner. Breakfast was set out across a numbr of stations so you never had to queue, and had an excellent choice of food.

All in all, I would definitely stay here again.

Everything about the hotel is top notch - however I do think that the food in the restaurant should be kept warmer.
Beware the man selling cameras etc. in the hotel arcade - you can buy at home for a lot less.

We thought we would try this hotel mainly because of the nearly golf and as a change from it's sister hotel playa la arena(we have been guests their 4 or 5 times and would reccommend it without hesitation) . we found it most dissappointing mostly staff despondancy infact when i spoke with oneothe managers he agreed there were some issues not really what i wanted to hear!! the staff are almost angry at the guests for being there. Hotel food tepid average, their market is for the over seventies -los christianos is the capital of electric wheelchairs. On a posotive the rooms were pleasant with a suite and seeview the lady whi serviced the room was as good as you can find.thats about it also i should mention the golf was a disaster also euros240 for two rounds and with a back up of older holiday only golfer delaying tee times by at least an hour y husband tried a couple of times but said there was no pleasure in it
