This hotel has all I require for a perfect holiday. The food is excellent and the menu varied. The standard of cleanliness is first class. The beds are comfortable and the room service is without fault. No booking of sunbeds and plenty of room to relax.
The staff are friendly and helpful. What more could one ask for.We have been visiting Tenerife(both North and South) for 20 years and never found anything better.

Room Tip: Try the 5th and 6th floor and take a room with pool view

We recently stayed here for a 3 night break and were impressed with the location, the staff, the rooms and the food.
We had booked a sea view room and were lucky to be given room 336 which is a suite! There are two full bathrooms, large bedroom, double balcony with 4 sun loungers and a lounge with sofa and 2 armchairs. Don't know why we were eligible for this room, but see if you can get it too!
The hotel seemed to be fairy full but we had no problem getting loungers by the pool and we had no need to reserve them.
Wi Fi was available in the lobby and I found that I got a good signal on the 3rd floor overlooking the atrium lobby. There are comfortable chairs and sofas and it's less busy up there.
The choice of food was good although we prefer to have a meal cooked for us and not to have buffet meals. We enjoy spending time over our evening meal and there are so many restaurants to choose from in Los Cristianos that perhaps we should have chosen B&B and not half board.
There was a pianist playing in the evenings and this seemed to be enjoyed by the more senior guests.
People make an effort to dress nicely in the evenings and it makes a very pleasant change from other hotels.
The hotel is very clean and I can see why so many people return year after year.

On arrival I was impressed with the Arona Gran, the lobby is large and welcoming and the position of the hotel is ideal for exploring the surrounding area but this good first impression was almost spoilt when we reached the check-in desk.

The staff on reception are very businesslike and lacked the welcome I would have expected upon the arrival of holidaymakers. I travelled with parents and there was a mix up with the rooms but at times I felt like it was my fault!

The hotel itself is good, there are plenty of places to sit and relax and the bars and outdoor seating areas were comfortable although the service in the bars was sometimes a bit slow.

The dining room was a little cramped and probably could have done with modernising. At times it is a bit manic but all in all the service was good for drinks and clearing the tables and there was plenty to eat. The food was at times very good considering it was buffet style and catering for large numbers, I would particulary recommend the freshly cooked food served by the chefs which included very large prawns! and a variety of fish and meat, the freshly cooked steak I had was excellent.

Like most hotels in Tenerife and beyond you will need to be up early to reserve your sunbed! Whilst there are plenty of sunbeds around, the ones without the towels on will be in the shade all day.

Our room was on the third floor with a pool and seaview and was bathed in sunshine all day and there were sunloungers and a canopy on the balcony which were very useful. The room itself was good with flat screen TV and plenty of English channels and the beds were comfortable with linen changed daily but once or twice the linen used was a bit dated. There is plenty of storage in the rooms including a safe but with a 14 Euro weekly charge! This always annoys me because I believe they should be free given the holiday cost and the need to encourage guests to keep there valuables secure.

There are rooms to the left side of the hotel which are largely in the shade and I spoke to a number of people in the rooms who said that at this time of the year (March) the rooms and balconies were very cold as they receive no sunshine at all. It may be worth considering requesting a room centrally located within the complex if this is important to you.

There is entertaiment every evening and this is of a variable standard. We enjoyed the perfomance by 'Abba' but the resident nightly singer left a lot to be desired. Whilst she was a reasonably good singer her 'stage presence' was seriously lacking!

The resort is very pleasant and there is a wide promenade that leads right along the seafront all the way to Playa de Las Americas and is excellent for all ages. There are a multitude of bars along the front to rest a while and toilets located on the beach once you get closer to Las Americas itself.

In summary, we enjoyed a relaxing break and I would recommend it!

Room Tip: Choose rooms in the middle of the complex, third floor and above

The only down side of two weeks at this fabulous hotel is that you then need to go on a serious diet! The staff are friendly and helpful and we know that everyone will make an effort to make our holiday as relaxing as possible. The venue is also ideal for anyone needing a wheelchair or buggy as everywhere is flat and access to the local bars and restaurants is very easy.

Room Tip: If you want a sunny room you need to tell the hotel as you may be in a shady room. However this may...

Have just returned from a fabulous holiday for a week at this Hotel. This hotel maintains the excellent standard we have come to expect from a Spring Hotels. Although the hotel was full it was not a problem. Despite this the atmosphere was very relaxed. The food was delicious all week we went to dinner early and never felt rushed. No problem with sun beds and had an alternative of a sunny balcony with comfortable adjustable chairs with footstool. There was a very nice touch when the Management Team was introduced to the guests at the poolside and then we were offered a free drink. Surely the sign of a very well run hotel. The hotel Staff were extremely helpful and very patient.
We do not normally recommend hotels to our friends. However we would recommend this hotel without hesitation. We had a wonderful room with a sea view and it was a sea view overlooking the harbour. There is flat walking on the promenade for miles around the bay to Las Americas and beyond. No bus stop near the hotel but taxis still very good value. The very colourful Los Cristianos carnival was on and the procession stared outside the hotel. Weather was perfect all week. Did not want to come home!

Room Tip: Fourth floor and above.

Our third vist to this hotel, which remains well run and enjoyable. But this time we realised that in the past we had been lucky in our room allocations: we were given a sea view room for which we paid a supplement, but it received very little sun until mid afternoon. Some adjaccent rooms were even worse from this point of view. Only rooms at one end, or the middle, of the hotel get good sun. This may be an advantage inthe mid summer heat, but in the early Spring it was definitely a disadvantage. We tried to move, but were told "Everyone wants thosee rooms, and we are fully booked"; so no joy!

This is an excellent hotel. We have just returned from our second trip, and would go again like a shot. It's spotlessly clean. The staff could not be more helpful. The food is fantastic. Yes, there are a lot of people at the buffet, but there is always plenty of food and plenty of choice, and the Wednesday night buffet is superb. We don't care if there is all-day sun on the balcony, as we would rather not spend our holiday on a hotel balcony, but if it bothers you, contact the hotel and ask for a room which does get sun (when there is sun, which IS most of the time). The person who commented about the soap is right, we prefer a bar of soap and take our own, though there is a supermarket right across the road and an Iceland two minutes away. We bought water at the supermarket - no one bothers. The aqua gym/aerobics were good, and funny, especially with Reuben - be careful or you might get sent to the 'naughtly step' if you 'blah, blah' blah' during lessons! The staff ALWAYS said a cheery 'hola' every time they saw us. We booked on line and got the taxi service and tea and coffee in the room. Also make sure you get a Spring card - it costs nothing. The evening entertainment varied from OK to good - the flamenco was amazing. Most of the clientele are retired, but there were families, including a small baby whose parents said the staff could not have been more helpful. We met several returners, one of whom comes three times a year, and has done so for years. Most of the guests seemed to be Brits, but quite a few Germans and a few French too. Personally, I don't think it's quite the place for very lively children but I'm being selfish!!! And it's certainly not the place to go it you want loud music - there are many other places for this. It's flat to walk into Los Christianos and there is lovely sea bathing there. Don't swim in the sea by the hotel - you ARE allowed, but I wouldn't as there are better and safer places. The hotel pools are lovely. The 'saving a sunbed' thing is totally un-neccessary as there are plenty, not always the exact one you might want, but come on! It's a lovely peaceful place, luxurious without being overpowering, and we felt very comfortable. We have already recommended it to several people and would do so again. Have a lovely time if you go!
