“Basic apartment with very uncomfortable beds”
Reviewed May 22, 2014

Went to Tenerife on a short break and chose this hotel based on price. To be honest, I wish I had spent a little more to get somewhere with actual air conditioning and not just ceiling fans!

We travelled from the airport using Taxi which costs about 25 Euros one way. If you want cheaper travel then there are buses that go back and forth to the airport and they drive right past this hotel on their way into Los Cristianos.

The hotel is a little dated, and could do with a fresh coat of paint on the outside. I did notice that there was some work going on to spruce up the rooms. Could hear any noise from this, so that was good.

Big tip: DO NOT opt for the option that includes breakfast, in my deal, this was going to be an extra 9 euros per person each day. The restaurant that does the food has a sign outside offering buffet breakfast for 6 Euros. we only ate the breakfast on our last morning before catching flight home and it was mediocre to say the least.

The room we were allocated was number 137, it was on the ground floor facing the main road. As a result, there was no privacy on the little terrace and we kept our curtains closed so people couldn't see in on their way past. Also every morning and evening, there was collections and deliveries for dirty laundry, so a fair bit of noise for a short period of time. On the plus side, it did catch the sun in the mornings.

The apartment itself had a little living area and table and kitchenette. The bedroom has twin beds and plenty storage for clothes. The bathroom was very compact and the shower was best suited to anyone under 5ft 6" and below. The the plus side, the water force was very good and there was always hot water available.

Umbrellas around the pool are scarce, so get out and put your towels down early if you like a bit of shade. There are little supermarkets and bars just across the road that are nice and cheap.

The location of the hotel is not right in Los Christianos, but it is only a 5-10 min walk away and the bus station is just along the road. Playa De Las Americas is a 15-20 min walk away.

Overall you get what you pay for and the was an average hotel that was a decent base for exploring the rest of the area.

Room Tip: Ask for 1st floor and above over looking the pool area.

This was our second time staying here. Last year we stayed early may and this year middle of may. our first time were quite surprised with our little apartment. this time we were so so happy. we had a separate bedroom. a very big kitchen come dining room. and a bathroom with a shower. everything was in the kitchen that you could need to do self catering, which we did a lot and sat on the lovely balcony looking out over the pool eating breakfast lunch and dinner. i cant say enough about this place, the pool area is just fab. the staff are so helpful and lovely. i need to print off my boarding pass and after trying to so many times on the public computer the guy at the service desk was more than happy to let me use their computer. i would recommend this place for couples with children and not its so peaceful and has a lovely childrens pool. if you are planning to do self catering i would recommend the local shops like superdino and the supermarket just across the road from the cafe Paneria things are a lot cheaper there than in places like Iceland as they have to import. i love it here and i will return hopefully this time next year again.

Room Tip: if you have children i would ask for a ground floor , and for the view of the pool at night a higher...

We stayed here with our 10 month old.
It has everything you need. Mostly clean & tidy but biggest letdown was the breakfast.
My husband enjoyed a fry each morning: bacon, sausage eggs etc but for myself & little girl very limited. The fruit was tinned & on holiday I love to eat fresh fruit. Not much choice for little ones. She mostly had the awful tinned fruit followed by a boiled egg. The yoghurts were long life & not refrigerated. However there was a coffee machine which had huge variety & coffee was delicious.
Overall I'd love to stay here again but due to breakfast alone, we'll not be visiting again.

I recently went here on holiday the first week in May with 5 women / girls. The first night we arrived we went to the restaurant down stairs. We all ordered just main courses. We where waiting over an hour for this. The restaurant wasn't busy at all so I don't know what the delay was. The next morning we went to the buffet breakfast, it was the worst food I'd had in a long time. Avoid this!! You will get a lovely breakfast across the road. The apartments where basic enough but they where clean and tidy. The reception staff where very helpful anytime we where up at the desk. The pool area was lovely, the only thing is they have about eight umbrella's. If you're not up at 8am you have no chance of getting one. I would stay here again but I wouldn't have food in the resort.

When we booked this holiday several months beforehand, we did so on the basis that we had booked for the Cristian Sur (returning to a previous location of a family holiday for sentimental reasons), so it was an immediate let-down when we found we were in the Tenerife Sur side. It didn't help that if we had booked the same holiday just two weeks before we went, we could have saved nearly £200.
The room was the big disappointment as it was in dire need of tlc and upgrading. The kitchenette was extremely cramped with so many basics just not right:-
The fridge was not up to temperature with no freezer section and the door dragged along the flooring - when we complained, the maintenance guy tested it and found the temp acceptable at 9.6 degrees! When we pointed out at reception that this was illegal we did get a brand new fridge.
There was no bread knife, no bread board, no microwave and there was one plug socket which was situated right over the sink and served the toaster, the kettle and also a light switch - again this is illegal.
The bath enamel was chipped in several places, the shower knob came off in your hands and because of the way the shower was situated and the nature of the shower curtain, if you stood to take a shower - not only did the whole bathroom floor become flooded but this flowed into the living area aswell.
The TV which you had to pay extra for was a throw back to the 1960's - it was so small and the reception poor.
The wardrobe had two sliding glass doors which constantly came off their runners
Through our rep, we were able to switch to the Cristian Sur side after a few days and this room was much better but still with basics like microwave and hairdrier missing and still with same dodgy electrics.
The state of repair of both rooms left a lot to be desired. We awoke one morning to find ceiling plaster on our bed.
The grounds and shrubbery around the place were really well maintained - it's just a shame the same attention is not given to the rooms.

Room Tip: Make sure you are overlooking the pool

The overall experience was good for what we paid, we were room only self catering, the room was good the beds were comfortable even the pull out,BUT there are a lot of stairs and NO LIFTS SO IF have any difficulties in walking or have to use a wheelchair this hotel is not for you even on the ground floor there's 14 stairs.

Room Tip: if you have trouble walking thi hotel is not for you.

Booked this trip at 1pm on Wednesday 7th May flew out 6am Thursday 8th very spur of the moment as I was going into hospital on 12th May for major surgery . Arrived in Tenerife around 10.30am and a short 20 min transfer got us to Los Cristianos we've never been to Tenerife before and normally plan every aspect of our holidays as my partner is disabled but as I mentioned earlier this was a spur of the moment the only thing I requested when booking was that we were on ground floor apartments and we were. The apartments themselves were very basic but clean and comfortable and that's all you can ask for in my opinion the pool was easily accessed with graduated steps and hand rails for my partner being disabled no matter what time of day you will get sun beds by the pool however if you need/want a parasol you have to be up and out at 8.30am as there are less parasols than beds . We ate the 1st day in the on site restaurant for lunch and dinner which was very nice however having spoken to people round the pool on the 2nd day they told us of a shop straight across the road that makes up fresh baguettes every day so I bought lunch from there every day and ate them by the pool delicious. We also bought takeaway from the Chinese across the road and ate out in our balcony/terrace food was very reasonable and delicious . On site shop also well stocked with everything you need for self catering and as we got hit with a heat wave while there unfortunately I got badly burned on my 1st day however there was a skin care advisor who set up by the pool and she was promoting aloe Vera products which helped a lot I personally thought this was a nice touch . For a last minute cheap n chearful self catering break we have already decided we'll go back as we didn't see a lot of the area but were told its a beautiful part of Tenerife to stay in so we are already planning to go back when I'm over my surgery can't wait .

Room Tip: If you have mobility problems there is a mobility rental shop straight across from the apartments wh...
