“Relaxed location - Great Apartment”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2008

We've just returned from a week's break in apartment 59 in Victoria Court II in Los Christianos. We spotted the ad on [-] and contacted the owner directly. The owner, Tom, was very helpful when we had to change flights and holiday dates.

Our party consisted of 2 grandparents, 2 parents, a 3 year old and a (almost) 2 year old. This was our first visit to Tenerife and we were looking for a relaxing break in the sun.

Victoria Court II was very peaceful - much quieter than I had expected. I think the loudest noises were probably the screams of our grandchildren from the pool. The pool was clean and surprisingly underused so that very often we had it to ourselves.

The apartment had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms which suited our needs very well. It was very well appointed with everything we needed. We had asked for 2 travel cots to be supplied and they were waiting for us along with ample bedding.

What particularly attracted us to this apartment was that it was ground floor as we were concerned about the children attempting to climb over balcony walls. There was a large walled area around the apartement which was a safe area for the kids to play.

Los Christianos is clearly designed for tourists but we did not encounter any of the problems which I've read about elsewhere. Not a single time-share tout approached us and the exhortations from waiters and street sellers were always good natured, unlike the rudeness and aggressiveness we've encountered in other parts of the world.

One thing which I hadn't expected is that the area has been designed with wheelchair access in mind and there's hardly anywhere that can't be reached. While not directly affecting us, it made pushing the buggy that we hired a lot easier!

With temperatures in the mid to high twenties, plenty of good places to eat and an excellent apartment, we had a thoroughly good time at Victoria Court II.

just got back from a two week stay at the victoria court 2, we stayed in apartment 170, booked through owners direct.com. I would reccomend anyone to stay in this apartment, it was great.
Two bed rooms one twin and one with three twin beds and a en-suite bathroom. the other bathroom is near the twin room.

very clean and close to the pool, everything you would need for a selfcatering holiday. sky tv in living room and bedrooms. lots of storage space.

There is a bar a few yards from the apartment that does nice food. you are close to it but I never heard any noise at night. the staff in there are really nice too.

The pool was great 2 my daughter was never out of it. yes you do have to pay for the sunbeds but they were in good condition and plenty of them, and its not the only place where you have to pay to hire them, and its cheaper than the ones at the beach.

There is security at night so you feel safe.

Not far from the beach about 5 - 10 min walk. The sunday market is just down the next street, this is on sundays only, be warned its very busy and hot,but you can get some good bargins if you are prepared to barter.

There is a very good spar shop about 10 min walk up the hill. come out of the entrance turn right at the bottom of the road turn right again and up the hill keep going past the restaurants on your right and its at the top of the road in the indoor shopping centre.

when you pass the restaurant look out for an Italian one not sure of the name but its very good its next to a fish one called oyster catcher i think.

The jungle park is really good too, there is free buses there so dont book it through a agent, you will pay more, they do a great bird show as you can see my daughter catching a bird, she is only 5 but loved it, there is a great bob sleigh ride there too, its well worth the 4 euros one tip dont use the breaks its more fun, my daughter loved this too.

There is also free buses to the water parks.

If you want to go to playa de las americas use their public buses they are very cheap, cost us 6 euros for 5 of us. just dont take offence when the bus driver shouts everyone out when you reach the last stop, i hear this is the norm

I booked the apartment through a holiday apartments lettings website.

My Cousin i went when we were 20 (2 years ago) and we arent really big party girls but we do like a drink and only went into Playa Americas once and came back in under an hour, it was not or scene at all.

The pool area was very clean and quiet and everyone that holidays there just seems so friendly and laid back, the on site bar is a bonus, fro lazy days by the pool with a quick burger at lunch and then a seista! Shame about the 2 euros though for the sunbeds

All the pubs and resturants are lovely, and at the bottom of the VC2 hill, (not very steep at all) was a place called ''The Greedy Pig''. This place was amazing for breakfast and we went everyday, staff were lovely and very fiar price for alot of food.

The apartment was lovely and came with twin beds, satelitte TV which was cool as big brother was on before we went out fro dinner and a lovely kitchen area with everything you needed if you WANTED to cook, which suited me and Hannah. The Kitchen had Tea, Coffee and other dry goods in it. The supermarket is one minute down the hill on the opposite side and sell everything from fags, alcohol and milk, but especially ...british bread, (which you cant beat, but it does seem other european countries dont make it the same).

I suggest this holiday to people that like the peace and quiet all day but want to go out in the hussle and bussle at night, just not be noisy when you come back as the residents are most likely to be british OAP who will put you i your place in their home! learnt this from experience as a loud mouth coupl were having a row at 11pm and were told to shut up!

I loved it that im taking my boyfriend with me in two weeks, we are staying in no.30 and i cant wait!!!

We have recently returned from Vicoria Court 1. The apartments are in a good position away from the hussle and bustle of the main area, but only a 10 minute walk from the town and promenade and also the bus station.
The apartments are clean and tidy and well looked after, the pool area is cleaned everyday. The Victoria office is manned everyday by Maggie, who is very helpful and will provide plenty of information about the area. Cafe and Restruants are all nearby and offer good service and food.
We found the apartments area clean and tidy and only interupted by the occasional children in the pool. We shall certainly return.

We booked our week to Victoria court 2 all seperately, and I believe that this is the best way to do this type of holiday.

Follwoing the 4 hour flight from East midlands, we had no messing about collecting our suitcases and pushchair. You then go out to the right of the airport and join what seems to be a long queue for a taxi. This soons wittles down, as taxi's are in and out alot.

The transfer to Vic Court 2 was about 20minutes, and cost €23. The information on the forum sites is correct about not having to bother pre-booking. The guy in the S.T.A.R recpetion in the appartments booked our return, for the same price.

Im guessing that Victoria Court 2 is all privatley owned. From conversations I had with the residents, people were there for weeks on end.

The pool area is nice and quite, with the majority of people being over a certain age. There is a seperate pool for kids. One bug bear was having to pay €2/day for the sun loungers. I used to save all the change from the previous nights out to give to the attendent, be warned he doesnt take copper though.

The bar near the pool is spot on. Sky Sports on most of the time, the waitress said they had a commitment to put all the football matches on, which was a bonus. The food down there is really nice as well. Not a tacky Pool bar, with dodgy burgers etc.

The room we rented (31) was more than adequate. An added bonus is the size of the balconys in these appartments. On a couple of cloudy days we sat up there, catching the sun as it came out. Unfortunately on 1 day we had paid the sun lounger tax, only for the sun to go in, and have to retire to the balcony.

Tenerife as a place is ideal for us with our 14month old daughter. The majority of it is flat, so great for walking. There are some building works going on on the front in Los Cristianos though, so sometimes you have to walk over wooden boards etc, but nothing to major.

On one occasion we walked to Adeje to see some friends, it took abot 2hrs 30mins, with a beer break in between. A bit hilly when you get to adeje, but a nice walk. Couldn't convince girlfriend to walk back, so €10 in a taxi. Not bad to say our appartments were at opposite ends of adeje and Los Cris.

The food in Los Cristianos is top notch. Some of the best i've had. We went to El Cardinal for a Lasagne, Little Italy for Pizza (bigger than plate, with really thin crusts), More pizza in rincon carlo, Steak in El brasero (My girlfriend found €3 in her meal, we were advised that this wasnt part of the veg, and was due to the waiter bumping into a waitress with a tip tray), Had another steak, in the steak house next to the church, behind Hotel Reveron.

Tried breakfast in a few places, typical found a cracker on the last couple of days. The breakfasts get cheaper and cheaper in tenerife, as low as €2.70. We stuck with Olive Garden once we tried there though. €2.95 for a special, €3,95 for a maxi, with extra stuff on. Really nice. We didnt have to bother buying seperate for daughter with 1 of these each, because theres that much.

Before we went I asked a couple of questions on the forum about the banks in Tenerife. This time I loaded up a new Nationwide Flex account, instead of Trav Cheques etc. This worked a treat, i was getting an exchange rate of 1.30/1.31 / £ during stay. Although this is low historically, the exchange places were only offering 1.26 / 1.27. Just for advise use the CajaCanaries ATM's, or CaixaCanaries. These didnt charge. The 'Telebanco' cash machines warned on screen of a charge they were going to take, i guess this is similar to a LINK ATM in a SPAR over here etc.

All in all a top holiday, even though weather off for 3 days. I will definatley go back to Tenerife and probably look into Victoria Court 2 again.

We stayed here for 1 week prior to christmas.

Its a lovely complex with large pool, well kept and clean. We had originally booked a 1 bed appartment but proir to arrival they made some changes and informed us that we would be getting a 2 bed at no extra cost. Appartment was fabulous (no. 45) and met all our needs and more. Well equipped with microwave, 4 hob cooker, kettle, toaster, CD player, TV with all uk channels
1-5, dvd player and washing machine with washing powder!! Lovely large terrace with sea views.

On the down side - apart from the lovely sea view in the distance, our view was spoilt by what appears to be a building site where a new appartment block will be built (work not started yet but some building material already there), at some point say goodbye to the sea view. Also the sea that is viewable from the terrace does not have a beach attatched, its all rocky and run down. You have to walk about 20 mins along the prominade to get to a beach where you can only sunbathe or about 30 mins to get to 'playa de las vistas' where you can actually swim.
The complex is also on the far side of Los Cristianos with only a small selection of shops/restaurants, so expect to walk alot or get a taxi. Finally, i was disappointed with the fact that you had to pay 2 euros per day for a sun bed around the pool and on top of this no inflatables are allowed in the pool. According to Norman (who runs the pool area) when asked he said this is due to health and safety as there have been accidents in the past and people have died (at other hotels) - make of that explaination what you will, but i have never heard such a rubbish reason, but i really couldn't be bothered to question him further as he was quite abrubt!

Complex has a small friendly bar which does food, a shoe and bag outlet which is quite expensive and an office where you can buy an english newspaper and use internet - 30mins for 2 euros.

We reallly enjoyed our holiday and appartment, but we wouldn't stay here again due to its location being far from most things and especially with a 7 year old in tow.
