Lots to like about this hotel. location is fantastic. Reception area really nice. staff very helpful. Pool and Pool area really good, always got a comfortable sun lounger. Activities were varied and staff made it fun.
However we were first allocated a room on second floor facing the road. The room was very small, quite claustrophobic in fact and every time you turned over in bed it squeaked very loudly.
we were moved to first floor which was a bigger and better room, although decor a little tired and bed still squeaky. Breakfast was nice but thought dinner could has been better. My husband had lamb chops one night and said they were the worse he has ever had, in fact he could not eat them. We ate out the last night, just felt we needed a change. Overall still had great holiday.

We stayed at this Hotel for a week in March, 2013. The Hotel was very clean, we had a nice sea view room (recommended). The meals were in a buffet style (good range) with an area where at least 2 to 3 different types of food were being cooked to order. This included breakfast. You could eat inside the restaurant or just outside on a veranda The slight downside was that tables were not cleared quickly, so used plates were left next to you. All the staff in the Hotel were very friendly and helpful. Our room was kept very clean, there was a coffee maker and mini bar provided. Towels for the pool area also provided (free of charge). There was a sun deck area on the roof and on the ground level there was a pleasant area with a nice swimming pool. Snack meals, drinks etc were reasonably priced and food was good. Free WFI. We had a lovely holiday here and would go back again.

Room Tip: Go for sea view rooms on higher floors (say 5 to 8). We were on 7

A fantastic hotel, excellent food, resturant etc. clean and modern seaview room, staff extremely friendly and always helpful. Only slightly negative point is that table clearance was a bit slow, one or two more waiter/waitress staff needed. otherwise faultless.

Room Tip: choose higher sea view room, great views of the bays.

This was my first visit to this Hotel, got off to a bad start with Thomas Cook transfer dropping us of about 1/2 mile away. The entrance was bright and had been recently decorated.
We were given a 2nd floor room to the roadside of the building,it was apparent that they hadn't redecorated this room and the locks on the balcony doors were faulty,we pointed this out to the reception and fortunately we were given another room this time on the 7th floor, still overlooking the road, this room had been redecorated but the bathroom was looking tired with mould on the bath seal ,and the taps etc had had the chrome rubbed away, more worrying was the fact that the marble top that the sink was set in had three cracks and was ready to fall out .We reported this to the reception but this time there was no other rooms avaiable, however to their credit the maintainance man soon had a new top replaced.
They were still painting the outside of the building but this never caused any disruption, unfortunately even being on the 7th floor didn't stop the road noise usually starting about 5.30 am,and also there was a lot of noise from a nearby bar which went on till late usually more so at the weekend.
The overall cleanliness and friendly staff cannot be faulted, likewise the standard of the meals which were always varied and of a high quality.
The average age of the guests I think was about mid to late fifties which as well as there was no kids led to a very peaceful holiday,To get away from the road noise We would have had to pay another £100 for a sea view ,in my opinion not warrented.
The location was very good but the cost I think was a bit excessive for this standard of hotel, overall a quiet holiday

Room Tip: I believe that the best rooms are those above the 2nd floor and facing the sea

We booked this hotel because of a previous excellent holiday we had experienced in another H10 holiday but in Lanzarote. The cleanliness and furnishings of the Big Sur, the helpfulness of the staff, and the quality and variety of the food were all top class. Entertainments both during the day and the evening were excellent. The team did not pressurize you in any way to join in with the activities but were keen that guests were enjoying themselves. I particularly want to mention the excellent Pilates, Yoga and Aqua Aerobics on offer. Micha was very a very professional teacher for all of these and coped well with the variety of languages and levels of ability of the guests for these classes.
All in all it was a very comfortable and enjoyable holiday.

Room Tip: We opted for a non sea view room and this was fine as it wasn't overlooked.

We are not long back from a 4 night stay at this gorgeous hotel. I cannot fault anything and would 100% recommend to all. We have stayed at many H10 hotels and the H10 Big Sur is definitely at the top of our list. The interiors since renovation are beautiful and the whole hotel is immaculate. Wonderful large sea facing room (i would recommend sea facing if possible) which was cleaned on daily basis. Staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast and dinner selection fantastic with salads, hot dishes and show cooking. You cannot get tired of the selection. Evening entertainment in the bar each night very good and plenty to keep us entertained for 4 nights. Los Cristianos a great little town and we enjoyed the proximity to the beach front, shops and restaurants from the hotel. All in all a fab stay and looking forward to going back!

Room Tip: Sea facing preferable!
