thjs is what you search for on holiday...a genuine experience of food cooked for Spanish people by spanish pepale with an understanding of the expectations of the holiday visitor.

excellent food to taste at good value and with just some lovely dishes to choose from. good local wine served by a guy who rememebrs you at the next visit, and waves to you when you walk by..though he speaks barely any English!

We went for dinner as a family of 3 with a 9 year old, I lived in Andalucia when I was younger and this is exactly the same as many great bars I visited, it is not a fake tourist gimmick but a genuine tapas bar run by a couple from Seville. We decided to have a selection of tapas for our dinner although there are main meals as well, our host could not have been more welcoming and helpful, he gave us advice on what to choose and looked after us superbly. The house wine was a Rioja and one of the nicest I have had for a long time, the white wine was lovely too. The tapas were all freshly cooked the pulpo con salsa (octopus in sauce) was divine and even my fish-hating husband ate it, we also had boquerones (really fresh and tasty) and great homemade meatballs. Lovely atmosphere with pata negra hams hanging from the ceiling. There are outside seats although we sat inside. Definitely an authentic, genuine restaurant with lovely food, very different from some of the tourist traps on the front. And no one outside pestering you to go in either which is another reason for going! With a bottle of red, meals and coffee for 3, glass of white, beer and cokes came to about 60 euros (but we ordered way too many tapas - to be fair he did tell us we were getting a lot but we insisted!) Worth every penny but you could have eaten there for much less if you weren't as greedy!

This is the best restaurant we visited, and one of the best I've ever been to! It's small and relaxed, with Carlos, the unassuming owner from Seville behind the bar. He's a lovely, charismatic man who made us feel extremely welcome once he realised that we would try to speak some Spanish and that we liked his funny wine decanter! His English is non-existent, but you can order from a menu in English. The food is first class. We had rare fillet steak and it was gorgeous. The wine was pefect (he didn't ask which we wanted, just brought it over and poured!) and he stayed open about an hour later than usual as we were having such a nice time. The bill was £50 including a bottle of wine, two fillet steaks with chips, garlic bread, one garlic prawns, and a large whisky (or was it two?).
