I have lived in Tenerife for 17 years and seen many restaurants come and go but not La Cava ....established in 1979 by the chef and owner Ludo who still continues to work his magic in the kitchen every night. The good is to die for from the home made soups made fresh every day to the chicken and mushroom vol au vaunts (our personal favourite) starter
The fillet steaks with creamy mashed potatoes and fried onions is the best I gave ever tasted and what I love about this place is the consistence of the food it's always exactly the same year in year out and the waiters and staff Ronnie and Felix who gave been there for 20 years are always so welcoming and look after everybody so well
If you visit TENERIFE do not miss out on this restaurant treasure ....Pure Gold

We visited on a windy and rainy evening. We had eaten here a couple of times on a previous holiday and knew that despite its unassuming exterior (situated up a side street and this time there was building work going on right outside) this restaurant is cosy and atmospheric inside and the food good. We went early, and were given a choice of two tables - all the others were reserved. We were disappointed to find the waiters on this occasion rather diffident, maybe even a touch arrogant. For example, there was not much smiling or conversation other than re the menu and no-one came to check that the wine or food was to our liking, obviously assuming it would be!! It was!! I ordered the fillet steak kebab ( a house speciality). The steak was cooked exactly as ordered ( medium) and meltingly tender - not cheap, but excellent value considering the quality and quantity. Things improved re the ambiance as the restaurant filled up, the staff seemed to thrive on being busy, and although people were regularly being turned away who hadn't booked, we didn't feel rushed to vacate our table and very much enjoyed the experience overall. We recommend you go here for the quality of the food but don't expect super-friendly service unless you are a regular! We didn't feel tempted enough to return this holiday, but certainly will in the future.

We have been visiting this restaurant for 30+ years and the food quality is always of the highest standard possible. Ronnie, Felix and the Spanish lady are always welcoming and very friendly and the owner, Ludos, is always slaving away in the kitchen preparing the nicest food that we have ever had in Europe ( and we have been to many restaurants over the years). The location is at the top of the steps from the restaurant with the blue boat outside. Just back from a week in Los Cristianos and visited the restaurant 4 times.

Was recommended to go to this restaurant from a frequent visitor to the area. Was not let down, both my partner and I enjoyed our meal immensely! Would Defintely recommend, however, it's hard to find and isn't advertised anywhere so you must ask. Also would recommend booking this restaurant as it's a busy spot.

Varied menu in all languages. Large choice of food dishes and the waiter will assist with specialities. Nice ambiance in this restaurant. Worth a visit - you will not be disappointed.
