Everyone says it's a party island and I guess it is if that's what you want but this hotel proves it isn't the only option.

The hotel itself is amazingly beautifully laid out; most everything just works. It doesn't do the all-inclusive thing - if you want excitement during the day you have to leave the hotel and, at least, walk to the beach. Instead it's a place to come back to, or hang out, during the day until you want to do something else.

We stayed there for three days, which was perfect - any longer we would have had to start thinking for ourselves. That's clearly an option; there seem to be regular bus services over the hill into Mykonos town.

Room Tip: Is there a bad room in this hotel?

My husband and I visited the 'Pelican Bay Art Hotel' in Platys gialos, Mykonos for 10 days. We were coming for a relaxing, laid back holiday and that is exactly what we got. We actually stayed at 'Kamari' Hotel over the road for the first two nights as we were double booked. But it wasn't a problem because it was very nice with a super pool. Antonis the Pelican Bay manager was very accommodating and ensured that we had a good stay. When we eventually arrived at Pelican Bay, our bags were put in our room and everything was organised.

Our room was lovely! We had a sea view room which was fantastic with a balcony which was great to sit out on when enjoying room service on an evening. The room came with towels and complimentary toiletries. It was spacious with a big bed for two of us. The bathroom and wardrobe was a good size and it was fully air conditioned. There was a fridge which was nice to have to store a few snacks and drinks. Loads of space to spread out and our room was kept clean with beds made everyday by the room maid. We loved the location of our room as it was close to the pool and breakfast room and there was also a short cut to the reception.

We were very impressed by the breakfast. A wide selection of continental options as well as a hot breakfast option. My husband enjoyed eating eggs & bacon/sausages and I loved the Greek yogurt with honey, Tahiti and fruit. The Greek cakes and pastries were also delicious with coffee & a selection of juices.Breakfast was served from 8 till 11 which was great for us because at times we would prefer brunch and didn't want to get up too early. We would have loved the addition of a toaster! Carolina who was serving breakfast and working the snack bar at lunchtimes was so sweet, efficient and very helpful - She really looked after us.

The pool area was very attractive - clean with comfy sun loungers and umbrellas. We loved it because it was often quiet when people were going to the beach and so you never had a problem getting a spot on a lounger or a giant cushion to sun bathe on. A very nice beach is only 5 mins walk away. It was quite busy at times and you have to pay for the use of the loungers. Which on some days is nice, but we loved the comfort of our pool area. The hotel also provides beach towels whenever you need them. There was also a cocktail/snack bar by the pool where you could order a variety of drinks and food. They do a delicious Cappuccino freddo and Baileys coffee freddo - yum! We loved using the cocktail bar before we went out for dinner and when we came back after dinner to have a night cap. Lucas the bar tender was fab and so helpful with advice on the area. He makes a mean 'passionfruit daiquiri'. We really hope to see him again - maybe next year! Cheers!

There was a variety of great restaurants and tavernas just 5 mins away to enjoy the local cuisine. We found it was quite expensive generally to eat and drink in Platys Gialos also because the pound is not very strong against the Euro at the moment. But we were on holiday so just enjoyed ourselves! You can pick up a bus just 5 mins away to Mykonos town which is beautiful to see. Cobbled streets all white and blue with a variety of souvenir shops - loved it!

The reception staff were very helpful and always attentive. Someone was on reception 24 hours. The morning we had to check out, someone organised our bags and transfer, whilst we were lazily enjoying breakfast - everything ran so smoothly. We would like to thanks Antonis & his team of staff for a very enjoyable stay. We will definitely visit again and if so we hope all the staff are the same as everyone was lovely!

Thank you so much, kind regards
Adrienne (Ady) & Wes

My fiancee and I reserved three nights at Acrogiali hotel in August but they made a mistake with our reservation and instead placed us for one night at this hotel. The hotel was lovely with great view and the room was clean. The hotel was steps away from the beach and super markets. It is located on Platys Gialos beach which is a great beach. I would say its more of a family/ couple beach rather than a party beach like paradise. The great thing is that there was a boat available on the beach where for 5€ per person a speed boat was available to take you to an other beach like paradise beach or super paradise beach. The bus to take to Mykonos town was steps away from this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful when it came to giving direction. The breakfast was decent with good coffee. Although we didn't expect to stay one night at this hotel we were satisfied with the hotel and the service. The only difference between this hotel and Acrogiali hotel is that this hotel is 5min walk to the beach where Acrogiali is beachfront.

The hotel is really clean and comfortable, it made us feel like home. The location was perfect. It is located at around 5 mins by walk to 2 beaches which were amazingly beautiful. Near the hotel, there is a bus stop that brings you to Mykonos Town in 10 minutes which was really convenient. The staff was extremely friendly and polite. The manager welcomed us with a refreshing juice. He was very nice. We saw him at a greek night in a restaurant and he is an excellent dancer aswell. The pool and the breakfast were great. Overall, our experience was amazing. Would definitely be back at Pelican Bay Art Hotel.

Pelican Bay is a lovely quiet hotel with spacious rooms & great people! Yes the rooms may not be new or modern but well worth every cent. Breakfast was great, and just a 5 minute walk to the beach. Great for honeymooners (like us) or a family vacation!

Hotel is located just 300m from the beach - which is far enough from the noise, but still has beautiful sunrise and sunset views. The room was spacious and the staff were the best I found on our trip.
