“A very pleasant surprise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2014

Stopped by on a wet afternoon for lunch. Had a number of options on the menu that took my fancy.
Settled on the chowder and steak sandwich which were both very good.
Partner had the pulled pork dish she was disappointed as it was mostly green salad which she dislikes. But she enjoyed the overall experience none the less.
Will return on a nicer day as garden looks very inviting.
Glad we stopped in nice place

“Nice visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2014

A nice place for a coffee and snack before tackling the less than arduous rail trail from Waihi to Paeroa. Four of us had a coffee each and three of us a light snack. Coffees were fairly good; snack enjoyable with an effort made to present them with a touch of flair. The more substantial meal menu looked inviting. Prices were about average; service very good.

“Not open twice!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2014 via mobile

Love coming here on our way to Whitianga, called in on a Saturday closed, so thought we'd have lunch on Monday on our way back, closed again. Can't guarantee they will be open so found another cafe in Paeroa!!

“Great coffee, friendly smiles”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2014 via mobile

Stopped here on way from Auckland to Tauranga. Really good coffee. We also shared the falafel and dips for two and it was very good. Lovely tabbouleh and vegetables as accompaniment. Very warm and friendly service. Well worth a stop

“Fantastic Cafe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2014

Some of the best café food we have ever eaten in our lives. We had heard about this and it lived up to the recommendation. The seafood chowder is outstanding and the scones and jam were superb.

Service was good, although the second time we were there I think the staff was short-handed and the chef / staff all seemed a bit stressed. Once life had calmed down then they were very nice - before that there was an element of snappiness.

But I have to say the best value for money food on the whole holiday and a better seafood chowder than I have had in very upmarket resteaurants.
