Although it was very windy during our stay, the sun was shining and there was a nice atmosphere. The site has a very safe feeling about it, and the shower & toilets, and kitchen blocks were immaculately clean. My particular favorite being the Dyson Airblade in the toilet block! The games room was a bit out dated and several items were out of order, but with the weather being good, we didn't need to use these. The staff were all pleasant amd very helpful.

We booked 4 rooms (2 Self contained units & 2 Park motels) last weekend and we had a great stay!

2 babies & 4 small kids, Bowentown did well in catering for our large booking. We had high chairs in the rooms for the babies, Portacots & each room had everything we needed.

The playground is fantastic. The kids loved it and it was great for us to sit on our decks outside the Self contained units, sip on wine while watching them play. The bikes are also a lot of fun.

It would be great if the shop could open a bit earlier than 8.30am (perhaps 8am) but otherwise no complaints here. Bowentown holiday park is great!

Room Tip: If you have small babies, request for staff to have Portacots set up in the rooms. Also take a bed r...

We stayed over RWC and we loved it. We only stayed for 2 nights but wish we could have stayed allot longer. We stayed on one of the camping sites and to start with had issues with connecting to the power. The manager, I think her name was Katherine was lovely and so helpful and got it working straight away. Thanks again!

We stayed at the camp over World Cup Weekend along with a few friends and family all in caravans. Our sites were all together with lovely views of the water. What a lovely camp. Toilets and showers spotless (although a pity you have to pay for showers as the fees are not cheap!). One of our little ones learned to ride her bike; the roads in the camp are perfect for this. We had a bit of an ant problem - but hey, we were camping. Was a nuisance having to throw food out though.

No real complaints as such, just a couple of things that could have been better, a little a bit on the pricey side, considering it was not peak season, it strikes me that the day when the mighty dollar does not rule everything is rapidly disappearing over the horizon behind us, you had to pay for all the extras, which i can understand, but those charges were quite considerable, the hot pools for instance.
Our cabin was well maintained and very presentable, but they do need to get on top of the ant problem, it is a lovely location, and Wahi Beach is handy if you need some supplies, it is a nice little campsite and all the facilities appeared to be in a very good state of repair, it appears that there must be quite a few rotters out and about on holiday, because we noticed quite a few surveillance camera in the main block, which we found a bit off putting.
Because of its location, i would look at staying here again.

Room Tip: Cabins next to the playground could probably get a bit noisy at times.

I recently stayed a night here in our camper van, and was very impressed with this campsite. It was well laid out, clean and tidy. There is close access to the lovely beach and it is sheltered from the wind. The staff were helpful and let me use their phone when I had to make an urgent call back to Auckland. I have camped all over New Zealand, and this is one of the better campsites. I have already recommended it to friends and relations.
