We traveled to Gracias to climb Cerro Las Minas and were fortunate enough to have chosen Guancascos as our base. It's well-located in relation to the bus station, the fort and the village of Gracias. Whilst our room was basic it was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed, including wi-fi, safe drinking water readily available and hammocks beside our upper terrace room. The hotel's real charm though lies in its great hospitality and welcoming atmosphere, in the surrounds of a beautiful terraced garden. We felt like friends rather than guests. Meal times on the terrace overlooking village life below were long, languid, relaxing affairs, with attentive staff and delicious food. We liked it so much we changed our plans and stayed an extra day. Thanks Frony and Jim for your kindness throughout our stay.
