My partner and I went to Ibiza for a weekend (one night) break from Leeds in October 2009, we had originally planned to go to London, but ridiculously Ibiza worked out CHEAPER, and the flight times from Leeds were much better.

We touched down at 10am in Ibiza, and with hand luggage only headed straight for the taxis, the taxi from the airport to Club Garbi at Playa D’en Bossa is only 10 Euros, and about a ten minute journey.

Upon arrival we were impressed by the modern and stylish club theme of the exterior, and how this was a feature throughout the whole of the ground floor of the hotel. Even the foyer had a three pronged ‘Cream’ style sofa complete with disco ball! We had arrived early and didn’t expect to get into the room as checkout was not until midday – we were wrong, it wasn’t a problem and by 10:30 we were happily settled in.

The hotel is a large complex set over 5 floors and three wings with just about every room getting a sea view from the balcony due to it’s U shape with the open end to the U pointing towards the sea. The bedrooms were clean, laminate floored, with a flat screen TV and two single beds pushed together to make a double beneath a stylish brown leather headboard. It had a separate sofa, which could have become a third bed, as well as a desk, chair, two double wardrobes and a safe, frankly I was impressed with it.

The pool was nice and big (although a little chilly in October) and the pool area was wonderfully decorated with modern and stylish sun loungers, and other outdoor furniture. At night the whole area was lit up with funky outdoor lights of varying, shapes, colours and sizes. Behind the pool is the bar / restaurant (4 Euros for a pint of Estrella), and through the bar / restaurant was the beach. You could not have asked to be in a hotel closer to the beach. To the left 4km away is Ibiza old town with the amazing and MUST VISIT D’ Alt Villa. Here’s a tip if you do go there get a taxi from the hotel and ask him to take you to the top entrance, otherwise it’s a very steep climb up. The views over the Marina from D’ Alt villa are AMAZING as is the sunset view.

The hotel is on the flight path to Ibiza airport so there is aircraft noise. It didn’t bother us at all, but it might if you are a light sleeper. The bar of the hotel is decorated with club style lighting and very stylish seating, as well as some beds for lounging – a great idea. The entertainment on Saturday night was a DJ who played a mixed set, but thankfully none of your usual ‘tat’ that you often get in terms of pop rubbish from the 70s and 80s, this was a good modern set with club, RnB, Hip Hop, and soul in the mix.

Beneath the hotel is a spa, which is free to use for hotel guests, and it was lovely. There was a steam room, sauna, Jacuzzis, swimming pools, and massage showers, again funkily decorated and with some really cool mood lighting.

The surrounding resort of Playa D’en Bossa is OK, it has the usual mix of souvenir shops, mini supermarkets and bars, many Brit owned, and to be honest some of these were a throwback to the 80s, and were simply now outdated in this trendy club resort. They could do with some upgrading like the hotels have had. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel for a funk getaway, not least due to its close proximity to both the airport and Ibiza town.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights back in July. We had room 314, which had a great view of the ocean and historic Ibiza town. From the hotel, we could walk to Ibiza town, Bora Bora Beach Club and the nightclub Space (we preferred Pacha). Not far from the hotel, we walked to an Irish pub, that had great live music, cheap drinks and no cover (much needed releif after spending lots of money at the clubs). We never used the pool, since the ocean was right there and the water temp was perfect. Regarding the beach chairs, the first day we grabbed two and no one ever asked us for money. The next day, we were doing ok, until after an hour, when we were asked to pay. We declined and moved on.

The staff at the front desk were wonderful. A very nice woman recommended that we take a taxi to San Antonio and eat at Es Ventall Restaurant (Cervantes, 22). We had the pre-fix for 12 Euros and it was one of the best meals we had in our 3 week trip in Spain.
Afterwards, we walked west to watch the sunset. We ended up at Kama Sushi (close to Cafe Mambo) for a nice mojito while people watching and the sunset.

My b/f and I stayed at this lovely hotel in August. We were really impressed by the decor, the friendliness of the staff, the bautiful surroundings - from the pool you simply walk through the casual restaurant onto the white sandy beach! U will also feel very safe there - all teh corridors have cctv that is on view at reception (we had noticed other hotels on here that were rife with thefts!! - I frequently left money and valuables in the hotel room and not a penny was touched). Bora Bora is about a 3 minute walk down the beach, a further 10 minutes is a stunning beach side retaurant that's all white linen and does gorgeous food and isn't too pricey altho i did find a 2.5k bottle of wine. D'en Bossa is about 20 mins in a taxi from San Antonio but to be honest it's worth it. Also, if you're planning to go to Space it's in D'en Bossa so that saves a taxi anyway. Woudl seriously recommend teh restaurant BamBudah Grove - again, 15 mins in taxi from anywhere as it's kind of in the middle of nowhere but it's really worth seeing. Will defo be back and probably stay at this 4* hotel which absolutely deserves it's 4*'s. Only one thing, we didn't love the food but I guess buffet's are never that great. It was clean and well cooked and at night you woudl usually find at least one really nice thing like a steak or spare ribs - we didn't mind so much because the price difference between room only and half board was so little we figured it was worth it to go half board and eat out as well. The pool side restaurant is great for simple lunches. Cheers!!!

If you are in the 'Ibiza frame of mind' this hotel is perfect. Excellent location, near ibiza town, bora bora beach and main clubs such as Pacha and Space. Perfect hotel to relax and chillout before partying the night away.
Decent people around the pool. Hardly any bright red brits. Good for families, friends and couples looking for a classier way to stay in Playa dem bossa.
Food was amazing, however there wasnt enough fruit at breakfast and the juice wasnt great (out of a machine). But all in all 10/10 and would recommend this hotel above any others in the resort. You get what you pay for.

The staff do there job, not overly friendly but not rude either. As long as they clean your room and make good food, that is what matters. You aren't going to make friends with conceierge.

Will be going back to this hotel soon.

I guess it didn't go too well when i was should be reception for not saying hello before going to my room (my friend had checked in the previous day) but when i got to the room it look fine except: 1) The airconditioning was noisy, 2) We requested a twin room but got two single beds next to each other to form a double. When we complained we were told "that's the way it is".
The Garbi has apparently had a complete re-fit and i have to say it is one of the naffest hotels I have ever soon. Inane globes in the garden, a bar area that looks like a game of tetris and a dining room which is so strip lit all you want to do is escape.
The plus points are that the rooms are spacious, the pool area is very nice (albeit cramped) and the beach restuarant served good food.

My final moan was that I asked for a late check out. When I asked how much it would be i was told 180 euros. Again, totally unaccomidating. I booked the hotel opposite for 50 euros instead.

A very well located Hotel in the heart of Playa Den Bossa where all the action is in that part of town.
Decent sized rooms with comfortable beds.
The Buffet breakfast and dinner is kinda boring as not much variety.
Very friendly room service staff as we left our room daily around 5pm and they still did our rooms with a smile.
But Overall I liked the hotel very much and will stay again If i visit Ibiza.

Nice clean hotel with super rooms and view to the ocean.
Nice design ,and large colourfull walls and furnitures!
Not so many guest stays at the hotel by the huge bar inside , so I felt A BIT unpersonall empty vibe at the whole hotel., but it did not matter.
You can buy drinks or water in the Spar at the other side of the road ,and bring it to your room, small fridge in room. No minibar!
Choose halfboard and you get a tasty nice breakfast with everything(fresh fruits, omelete of your choise, fresh breadrolls and bakery) american ,scandinavian and english style breakfast at your choise until 10.30 in the morning!
The dinner you get is also super, until 10 in the evening , with lots of tapas, paella, fresh fish, newly grilled meat, homemade pastas ,good dessserts and fresh fruits! Inexpensive drinks (you have to buy them in the bar, and bring it to your table yourself) compared to other places!
Friendly waiters here!
Pool clean, free sunbeds, beachbar ok, but a bit really bad unfriendly slow service, chillout place ,but not so very cool....
Not loud partymusic in the hotel and area!!!.Even if it was in the middle of august(the hotel was packed full of guests) we slept quiet i the 4.floor! Room 433
The beach was footsteps from the pool, sunbeds for some euros.
The workout room is nothing really , very tiny .
The spa was Ok but they hire somebody outside hotel,a bit easy and unprofessional!
Nice hip restaurants nearby,Nassau beach and Delano beach,La Plage and Ushuaia are all very trendy chic and cool . Inbetween them are som very ugly cheap places with noisy drunk people without good taste. Borabora is very trashy, cheap, loud and uncool. The shops around the hotel is lowcost shops with plasic shoes and cheap bad taste clothes. Go to Dalt Villa for trendy shopping!
We found a PEARL of a rocky beachplace 10 min taxiride away ,by the Sa Caleta beach ,called Cafe Macau on the rocks, small chic hip cool cafe with shower, small boutique, nice people, nice music, relaxed atmosphere really really a gem!
We went too Blue Marlin at Cala Jondal sunday . Party, party ,trendy trendy, some moviestars there! Very cool place, lots of trendy people and gourmet food!
The Salinas beach was also very nice, all types of people, the best cleanest water of all beaches we visited, but very overcowded,no wind and loud party!
My opinion is that the more south at bossa beach(ibiza) the more better ,and Garbi have a good location in the middle too explore for yourself everything!!!
