The location was the first thing my friend and I searched for, it being minutes from the main town, and a 11 euro taxi from the airport we were interested in this place. Also having both a beach and a swimming pool it was ideal. Although this was in a very clubby area (Not as bad as San Antonio) my friend and I weren't much into clubbing, but wanted the option in case we felt like it.

This place was perfect for us! It was grown up and quiet enough for the end of July, but walk ten paces out of the perimeter, and you'll find what Ibiza is known for: playful semi-nude teenagers, and hyper-gay club and bar promoters. I can't say I was too enthralled with Ibiza itself, although it was ten years since I last went there, it was quite empty of culture. This hotel however made up for it.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, the downstairs rooms were utterly gorgeous, mixing general lovely hotel decor with odd bits of antiquey furniture in some sort of sitting rooms. There was a huge flat screen TV in another room with loads of chairs to chill out in. It was almost like a mini cinema! And our hotel room was everything the pictures said it would be. We paid a little bit extra for a sea view room but it was totally worth it. You are facing full east though, so don't expect any beautiful sea sunsets from your balcony, the morning light is very bright though - good thing they had black-out curtains!

This hotel has a great many places to explore, and you can easily spend a lot of your holiday just here, sitting around using the free wifi or omputers with internet (at a cost), or reading by the pool.
The bar by the pool was open very late, and their food was quite delicious, with an impressive cocktail menu. I'd say the food here was better than the acutal buffet dinner, which was the only flaw. It was just a bit basic and bland compared to the quality of the whole hotel. Breakfast was very nice though!

The best surprise was that our room came with a fridge stocked with soft drinks and waters, which were free of charge and stocked up every morning when the cleaners came in. It was such a lovely perk, as opposed to the dreaded temptations of a mini bar with it's 400% mark-up!

I'd definitely reccomend this place for adults (and couples), or non-clubby youngsters. Or even clubby youngsters who still want to come home to a cockroach-free room, where you can lie in/lie by the pool in peace all day and nurse your hangover.

Room Tip: If you're fond of views, perhaps pay a little extra for the sea view, and try and go for a top f...

We spent 3 nights here in Ibiza and had a great time. The hotel is in a good location and our room had a nice ocean view, the Hotel itself was quite clean & we found the service to be reasonable. The breakfast buffet was very good compared to most hotels in Europe.

We arrived in Ibiza late afternoon and stayed over at this hotel for a night. The position of the hotel is superb being right on the edge of the ocean. The views over the sea are stunning and we enjoyed the sight of the moon rising out of the Mediterrean. The room were of a comfortable size and very clean.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view facing the sea

The good bits: The hotel is lovely. Easy to get a sun lounger. 4* amenities. Free mini bar / wifi etc. Very clean, great views.

The big thing that lets this hotel down is the staff. They are ok but more what you would expect in a 2 or 3 star hotel. If you have a problem you have to get in the queue at the front desk. They are not rude just low skilled so you just end up giving up. Expect little issues such as the mini bar not being restocked, cleaners taking towels and leaving the room as if it's a single occupancy. Basically all the school boy errors you expect at a basic hotel. There is no maintenance / housekeeping number or concierge so the front desk do struggle as they don't have the skills.

The pool is quiet. No kids (although that might be a plus for some) so don't come here if you are a family.

The restaurant is great with lovely views although quiet. The food looks good but doesn't taste as good as it looks. We ended up getting little samples to see which was edible. Again 3* chef cooking.

I would say the one single reason why you would come here would be for the sea view. You'll probably put up with the service for this alone so if you don't get a sea view, go somewhere else.

I have travelled all over the world for both business & pleasure. This hotel is very misleading by its photographs on the various websites and the location is not near anything. I would categorize Torre del Mar as a 2 star, as they have not updated anything in the hotel since 1960. It would be the perfect place to shoot a sequel to Scarface. This is definitely a hotel for families and old people because that is all we saw in the hotel during August 2012. The service is horrible and they up charge for everything ~ the safe in the room, a towel at the pool, etc. There is really no usable beach in front of the hotel and my boyfriend and I were robbed twice on the hotel grounds. We had such a horrible experience with rude staff that we ended up checking out early to stay at a nice modern hotel on the beach with an ocean view in Playa den Bossa. All the hotels in Playa den Bossa have beaches and nightlife. We paid half the price of Torre del Mar and were given a VIP room. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy and they almost ruined our trip to Ibiza.

Spent 3 nights in Ibiza and wished it could have been longer. We arrived very early (7am) due to a change in our flight and were lucky enough to be checked in right away. Our check in was very quick and the gentleman looking after us was lovely. He could not have been more helpful and we were so thankful given how early we had to be up for our flight.

We were given a seaview room on the 5th floor with magnificent views across the ocean. The room was very comfortable. As other reviews have mentioned, yes the decor is slightly dated, however we did not book this expecting a Hilton, Westin etc and were prepared for this. Having said that though, the rooms were still really nice and very comfortable. We had a huge bed, minibar, table and chairs both inside and out on the balcony. The bathroom was one of the biggest we have had on our 3 month trip and had all the necessary and expected amenities. We did hear a bit of noise every now and then from other rooms or people in the halls, but hey it's a hotel and it's Ibiza.. you are going to hear this from time to time.

The pool area was fantastic. A lovely pool overlooking the beach with plenty of loungers - we came down around midday on 2 occasions and had no difficulty finding somewhere to relax. This is because there is also a huge grassed area, with some shaded spots next to the pool so room for everyone.

Breakfast was a full buffet and a decent variety of foods. Even when it was very busy, there was plenty of food available as staff were constantly restocking - even at 10:30 when breakfast was meant to finish, they were putting out more food to cater for the late-comers.

The location suited us quite nicely. It is within walking distance to both Playa Den Bossa and Ibiza Town (though the port end of the town is quite a distance). We found so many great eateries along the beach serving cheap cocktails and sangria all day long.

We caught cabs to the nightclubs as we could not be bothered waiting for buses etc. This was easy and surprisingly cheaper than expected. We also caught a cab to and from the airport, again for a very reasonable price (we have paid more for metros to the airport in some cities!).

All in all, we had a great stay and would definitely return. It is certainly not a "party hotel" compared to the Garbi or Ibiza Rocks, but suited us perfectly. 20 or 30 years ago, this would have been a classy resort and with a refurbishment due soon, I think it will bring it back to its prime.

Room Tip: You must book a seaview room!! well & truly worth it for the views

A real 4 star standard hotel , great location , kind staffs , nice view , nice beach , good internet , near to all nightlife's activity , choose top floor sea view rooms , pool was good , I can not say any bad things about this hotel only I can tell for singles or young groups may not be so good and they may have better choices in 3 star rating hotels.

Room Tip: top floor , sea view
