The location was the first thing my friend and I searched for, it being minutes from the main town, and a 11 euro taxi from the airport we were interested in this place. Also having both a beach and a swimming pool it was ideal. Although this was in a very clubby area (Not as bad as San Antonio) my friend and I weren't much into clubbing, but wanted the option in case we felt like it.
This place was perfect for us! It was grown up and quiet enough for the end of July, but walk ten paces out of the perimeter, and you'll find what Ibiza is known for: playful semi-nude teenagers, and hyper-gay club and bar promoters. I can't say I was too enthralled with Ibiza itself, although it was ten years since I last went there, it was quite empty of culture. This hotel however made up for it.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, the downstairs rooms were utterly gorgeous, mixing general lovely hotel decor with odd bits of antiquey furniture in some sort of sitting rooms. There was a huge flat screen TV in another room with loads of chairs to chill out in. It was almost like a mini cinema! And our hotel room was everything the pictures said it would be. We paid a little bit extra for a sea view room but it was totally worth it. You are facing full east though, so don't expect any beautiful sea sunsets from your balcony, the morning light is very bright though - good thing they had black-out curtains!
This hotel has a great many places to explore, and you can easily spend a lot of your holiday just here, sitting around using the free wifi or omputers with internet (at a cost), or reading by the pool.
The bar by the pool was open very late, and their food was quite delicious, with an impressive cocktail menu. I'd say the food here was better than the acutal buffet dinner, which was the only flaw. It was just a bit basic and bland compared to the quality of the whole hotel. Breakfast was very nice though!
The best surprise was that our room came with a fridge stocked with soft drinks and waters, which were free of charge and stocked up every morning when the cleaners came in. It was such a lovely perk, as opposed to the dreaded temptations of a mini bar with it's 400% mark-up!
I'd definitely reccomend this place for adults (and couples), or non-clubby youngsters. Or even clubby youngsters who still want to come home to a cockroach-free room, where you can lie in/lie by the pool in peace all day and nurse your hangover.
