My friend and I just spent 10 days at this wonderful place. We just needed to have a break from work, the men, the kids and the daily routine and wind down. We did just that. If you are looking for a quiet wonderful chill out then this is the place. The place is spotless and the staff are very professional and very polite and attentive. Be careful on the spa floor as it does become very slippery when wet. There were young couples, friends, ladies on their own, gents on their own, middle aged couples all staying at the resort. Thank you Federico, Jose, B sorry I don't know how to spell the name of the lovely waiter in the white shirt who served us most of the time and looked after us very well as did all the staff from the chamber maid to the housekeepers to the pool guys, the chef, hope I havent missed anyone. I have been telling everyone about our fantastic time there. Only ten minutes walk to the beach. Market twice a week. Bars and restaurants close by if you wanted to venture outside the hotel. Supermarket down the road.

The hotel was closed for 11 years and has been fully restored in 2011 offering very clean, comfy facilities for an adult only guest who prefers a smaller hotel with friendly staff who leave you to enjoy your holiday in peace and quiet. This is not a Wristband hotel, no ALL Inclusive here. However there are deals to include drinks with evening meals which was a good choice for us.
Stay here before it gets busy, perfect if you want a really quiet relaxing break around the pool away from the mass tour operator hotels. You will find all the staff well trained and very helpful

ROOMS Are to a good standard and are very clean. Big screen TV, fridge, comfy beds and most offer a pool or sea view terrace.

FOOD Evening meals were fresh and over 7 nights despite the hotel being only a 1/4 full managed to offer a decent choice of quality meats and fish cooked just right. Not the usual buffet choice but as said it was quiet. Breakfast a good choice of the usual stuff.

POOL AREA Fantastic with plenty of sunbeds and a first class pool surrounded by pretty trees and flowers. The perfect place to snooze and relax as there is no annoying music, no children and no annoying animation teams trying to get you to join in silly pool games.

Overall a nice small hotel for couples wanting a VERY quiet break where doing nothing all day is top of your list. Costa Calma has little (nothing) to do in the evenings. The hotel is 15 minutes walk from the beach area.

HOT TIP When driving from the airport as you arrive in Costa Calma at the first roundabout take a right, then right again at the next roundabout. Then head straight up the hill and you will find the hotel 3/4 of a km further on at the back of the resort.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view these are probably best.

The Best Age surpassed all expectations for our 7 night stay over Easter. The hotel is exceedingly throughly cleaned, in spacious grounds about 1.5 km back from the beach. The poolside area is very pleasant, set amid palm trees, shaded bed spaces, and ample umbrellas for sun-lounging. When the weather is nice it is more than nice enough to spend the whole day by the pool. The buffet breakfast was decent, it had enough range to keep us going - I especially recommend the freshly made pancakes! There are a number of moderately entertaining activities put on by the hotel as well as a decent pool table and table tennis table, and a pleasant sauna. The tennis court is undersized which makes for a slightly odd playing experience, and the gym is quite bare. Finally the rooms themselves are about standard size, maybe slightly larger. The decor is pretty 1980s and TV isn't up to much, but the bathrooms are nice as are the balconies. I recommend a poolside room facing the sea horizon (room numbers 208 to 215)

The staff are very pleasant and work hard to please the guests - from the receptionists to the buffet chefs one had the distinct impression of a strong work ethic and capability. The management are clearly trying to ensure this hotel gains a better reputation than it currently has, and with its core infrastructure and hospitality its standing will soon improve.

If you're looking for a relaxing, quiet, pretty high quality break surrounded by few children and in nice surroundings to read and rest, you can't go too far wrong here. If alternatively, you're after a raft of entertainment, immediate walkable beach access, banter with English tourists, or super-plush rooms, then this isn't the place for you. We weren't, and so we loved it!

Room Tip: Poolside rooms facing sea - e.g. numbers 208 to 215, are very pleasant.

Just returned from a 5 night celebration break, had a fantastic time, hotel very clean and staff very friendly and efficient. Pool lovely plenty of sunbeds and loved being able to choose what time to go to the restaurant for meals as good range of opening hours.

Breakfast and Dinner are served in the main restaurant and lunch in the poolside restaurant and bar was excellent in both always fresh and lots of choice.

Only slight negative was that the Hotel Bar only opened at 8pm so no where to have a pre-dinner drink as the poolside bar closed at 6pm, but not a real problem.

We had a car so no problem getting around but too far to walk to the beach but hotel does lay on a free bus.

Would definitely recommend for a relaxing adult sunshine break.

We stayed here in feb 2012 and were looking for a cheap sunshine holiday to chill out and relax. Well, thats exactly what we got! The hotel has recently been refurbished and was very clean in our rooms as well as the dining room and lobby and throughout the whole hotel. Its aimed at a slightly older market really so if you are a group of young lads who want to party all night you may want to look elsewhere. All the staff were very friendly especially the main bar man and nothing was too much trouble. Food was ok,but some dinners were not so good, being a strange mix of random foods. The jacuzzi and spa were lovely, clean and quiet most of the time. The pools were nice, if a little cold. The hotel was quiet during our stay meaning it was easy to get a sunlounger or one of the lovely sun beds. Most mornings the corridors outside our room smelt a little bit 'farty'. The food in the snack bar was delicious and we couldn't fault it. Overall a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: There are no double rooms unless you book a suite. Rooms on the 2nd or 3rd floor looking towards th...

Just back from a wonderful 1 week stay at the lovely newly refurbished Best Age Cordial hotel from 7/03-14/03
We where up graded to a beautiful suite which was so comfortable and spotless and had its own really comfortable sunloungers. There are 3 good sized pools , 1 is heated ,1 has an attractive waterfall feature which is turned off in the afternoon for siesta time.
We where on 1/2 board + which entitled us to breakfast and dinner with local beers ,wines and soft drinks. The food was of a very good standard with plenty of choice both at breakfast and dinner, both where buffet style. The fish dishes at dinner where particularly good, and the good choice of icecreams where delicious, not to mention the cakes!! The lager was draft Tropical ,the local brew, and was very good, the red wine was very pleasant The spa area was lovely with a good array of amenities, the jacuzzi was fab and the sauna big ,there was a lot of various jet sprays for all areas of the body!.The staff where fantastic, so friendly and helpful and made our stay special.Good free bus service to beach and shops stops just outside the hotel. Nearest beach is a 20min walk away, but the bus take you all the way to the far end of Costa Calma where there are fantastic white sandy beaches which a very natural with no hotels .This is the best hotel we have stayed at and we have stayed at quite a few 5* hotels in Marbella! I can highly recommended this hotel and cant really understandf the poor reviews this hotel has received !. 1 tip take a travel kettle ,tea and coffee with you, all rooms have a small fridge to keep your milk and any other foodstuffs, drinks you wish to purchase. Dont hesitate to go here especially with the great deals that on offer at present!!

Room Tip: Spend extra for a suite if you can afford it well worth it!

I stayed at this hotel from Feb 29th to March 7th 2012. I was welcomed with a glass of champagne and there was a bottle of bubbles awaiting me in my room! The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and the standard of the rooms and public areas was excellent. The rooms were cleaned and towels changed on 5 out of 7 days. Although there was entertainment it wasn't terribly successful because the hotel was only 25% occupied and most guests seemed to spend the evenings elsewhere. There was a free bus service to a very nice beach - the Esmeralda -about 10 minutes drive away - the bus service ran several times during the day. You could walk to a beach - about 15 minutes away and you could walk along this beach and come to the Esmeralda beach. The walk took about an hour but it was a lovely way of passing the time! There were lots of naked bodies on the beach but this part of the island is renowned for this. There was also a nudist sunbathing facility on the hotel roof and in the spa but not at the pool. The food was very good and the dining room very attractive.
I got the shuttle transfer from the airport - it was not expensive and took just under an hour which is very good given the distance from the airport.
I was on my own and felt totally relaxed and at home. The majority of the guests were older couples but there were several young couples.
If you want a relaxing holiday you couldn't do better than choose this hotel!
