Just returned from a 6 week holiday in Santa Rosa appartments. First of all, the staff were a credit to the hotel. The cleaning staff were friendly, and appeared happy in their work. The bungalow we were in (1057) was cleaned regularly and the beds changed about twice a week. Nothing seemed to be any trouble to them. Pool bar staff, were friendly and we were treated daily to the free cabaret, courtesy of Janine! The restaurant staff, were polite & friendly. Tables were cleared of used dishes quickly. This made for the smooth running of the restaurant. Reception staff were happy to help, we dealt with Maxime for most of our stay(just the way shifts turned out) she was pleasant, helpful and made us feel welcome. Garden staff worked hard to keep the hotel grounds looking pristine. Next, the accommodation. We were in a 1 bed bungalow, the first thing we would recommend is, if you are staying for longer than 2 weeks, bring some coat hangers from home. There were only a few in the wardrobe, although the cleaning lady gave us some more. They are plastic ones, and more suitable for children-size clothing than for adult. There was plenty of room in the wardrobe, with hanging space on top, and 2shelves below. Not any drawers, apart from 1 small one below the mirror. There was a bedside table between beds. There is a safe in the bedroom which you can hire. there is no air-con. but being January/February we didn't need it! The kitchen was basic, with crockery and cutlery for 3 people. Pots & pans, kettle & microwave. To get you started, I would recommend bringing a few sachets of salt/pepper and some tea/coffee. There is also a fridge. There is a tv in the living area with BBC/ITV/Ch4 amongst others. There is a laundry to the left of the restaurant, with a washing machine 5€ & tumble dryer 4€. The machine spin dried the clothes well, but due to the sunshine, we didn't need to use the dryer. (Soap powder & fabric cond. not required as its incorporated in the wash) there is a bowling alley, tennis court and snooker table, along with the pools. Free WiFi in the poolbar & bowling alley. There are 4pcs in the reception area, at 1€ for 20mins.There are plenty of books to choose from in the reception area. They change regularly, as guests read them, then take them back. There is also a gym & sauna. The meals were very palatable but get a bit repetitive. (Bring your own tea bags/coffee as there are different types of tea bags, but it's difficult to tell which one is normal breakfast tea.) There are about 5 wee cats going around. All well behaved, and like attention.
Outwith the complex there is a cafe/bar called Steptoe's, from there you can 'phone the UK for 10mins for 2€, a good bargain if you don't want to take a mobile with you. There are a couple of supermarkets nearby. There is a great newsagents next to the Coronas Playas hotel, which buys & sells 2nd hand books, again, great if you don't have a Kindle, and don't want to lug books with you. There is a great selection and books to suit all tastes. Walking into the town is nicer going along the seafront, or you can stick to the main road. It's about a 20-30min stroll. Next to the Sausalito restaurant is a 2nd hand shop, Costa Less, They also sell off part-used bottles of shampoo/shaving gel/sunscreen etc. for about 50c. Great if you run out, with only a couple of days of your holiday left. There are plenty of bars/cafes nearby, with reasonably priced food. Most of the bars show sport, but there is an American diner next to The Monkey Bar, which showed 60s music videos. Very enjoyable if you're a fan. Along the seafront, there are some bright yellow exercise machines, great fun for the not-so-serious fitness fan! There are also tours to go on, to Puerto del Carmen/Arecife amongst others. There is the Sunday market, up in the hills (buses run there and back for only a few euros.) We would recommend the Santa Rosa apartments, for value for money, it can hardly be beaten.

Room Tip: If you want a quieter room,/bungalow, 1050s &1060s are away from the pool areas, which can be ve...

This is a great base to explore the island. Having stayed here 4 times previously we knew as much. The rooms are clean and the outside areas are well tended. We all enjoyed the food, which is not exotic but my kids don't do exotic!
We shall return again some time, just thinking of being a bit more adventurous as the kids get older!

Recently returned from a 3 week stay. Had a lovely time. Weather was great for time of year. staff at apartments were very helpful. Maxine had a only been a there a few days and was so keen to help everyone. The resturant did a variety of food and we never got Hungary. It was busy at times, but we still had a decent table. the rooms were basic but we did have a kitchen and tv which covered English channels. there were bars close by. We did travel by bus and went to puerto del Carmen, the guise and famara which only cost a few euros. We found a resturant and had apple cake and a coffee for 1.80 euros. We were 5 minutes from the promenade and ask walked this sat least twice a day. We loved this holiday and made enquiries for next years. for time away from winter months it was a great bargain

We booked Santa Rosa on the back of the great reviews on Trip Advisor and we wern't let down. The apartments and surrounding areas are exceptionally clean and very well looked after and there's a real relaxing feel about the place. The rooms are basic so don't expect 5 star, but they could quite easily charge more for the rooms and justify the price. We went Self Catering so can't comment on the food but there is a fantastic bowling alley for only 1.50 euro per game.

Eating Out
I'd advise going self catering simply because it's so cheap to eat out! We had breakfast round the corner at Steptoes, 2.95 euro for a full cooked breakfast. There's a square where all the main restaurants are, i'd recommend Orient Express for beer through the day, it's only £1.20 euro and some great places to eat are El Patio and Lighthouse who also do evening entertainment. Closer to the apartment there is a great little bar called Dickens which is worth visiting for scenary more than anything.

All in all this place is well worth the money and we'll be going back! Apparently they are fully booked until May which shows you the demand of the place!

good sized apartment with sunny balcony . Clean and everything worked but just a bit dated (furniture etc). tv had good reception , was free and had all uk channels (happy days). went bnb and breakfast buffet average with usual fayre, not exceptional though and fairly boring choice. Had deal for evening buffet 18 euros 2 people inc 2 full drinks , again fair boring with little choices but good value . Staff all EXCELLENT speaking many languages . pool bar happy hour 4-6 pm (bogof) eg 2 large beers for 2 euros, couldnt fault it for best value anywhere !! the whole world went for evening meal at 6.30 pm , if late no seats till 7.15. few bars close by inc amazing asian restaurant , but main square 15 mins walk away as were beaches .road at back and noise from workmen building indoor pool annoying . overall good but i wonder if best in resort

Hotel was great, a little trek into the resort centre.
Food was great staying half board. Pool was cold so no swimming.
Hired car through the hotel and bikes all easily done and cheap too.
Had slight problem with ants in the room but was a fantatic 1 bedroom apartment.

Def would return to this hotel.

stayed at santa rosa 24th jan til 2nd feb in a two bed bungalow.
we had a playground and pool view.
rooms abit dated and no drawer space in the bedroom also the sliding wardrobe doors kept jamming in the end we had to take the doors off.
there was only one plug socket in the kitchen which was situated on the wall between the worktop and breakfast bar so had to be very careful when ever we had anything plugged in as we had a 22 month old with us.
ample red hot water enough for everyone.
the complex is lovely, clean and tidy. the pool was very cold even though my 2 girls did brave it couple of times.
we booked self catering but upgraded for four nights to half board which was excellent value for money.
would we stay at costa tequise again the answer is no simply because we have stayed in carmen and matagorda and we found these places much more pleasant, the walk ways on the front have all being renovated where at tequise the walkways in most places were rough and not too easy when pushing a buggy.
all in all we had a great holiday and we had wall to wall hot sunshine.
