“Best breakfasts ever!!!”
Reviewed April 17, 2012

First trip to Lanzarote and we picked these apartments due to great reviews here on Tripadvisor. Travelled with my wife and three daughters, twin girls aged 5 and my other daughter aged 3.

I'll start with all the positives....as other reviews have already said the complex is immaculately clean. We had a two room apartment which was clean tidy and very spacious. Hob, fridge, kettle and microwave. We had taken a blow up bed for our youngest but needn't have worried as a put-up bed had been erected in one of the bedrooms with the existing twin beds...perfect for our girls. Sometimes you arrive in an apartment and immediately know its going to be a good holiday!

We were staying half board, the breakfasts were simply awesome. And I can be quite picky. On offer was the usual selection of continental offerings. Usually a choice of cold meats, cheese and various fresh fruit. Alongside this was the hot selection, sausages, beans, scrambled egg, tomato etc. On the hot plate a chef was grilling bacon, frying eggs and cooking fresh pancakes to order. The chefs were more than willing to cook the bacon and fry the eggs to your liking. My girls loved the pancakes. Usually there was a choice of four different breads, croissants and other patisseries. Hot chocolate, tea and coffee and fruit juice also. Needless to say I didn't here one complaint about the breakfasts.

The evening meals were the usual offerings, to be fair they were quite varied and they were obviously making a lot of effort. If I were to return I think we would stay b&b as we prefer trying the local restaurants and more variety.

The kids entertainment was excellent thanks to the hotel entertainer Rose, she was superb and really put in a lot of hard work to make the childrens activities fun and varied. On site was a six lane bowling alley and an indoor childrens soft-play area which was free to residents. The kids loved this.

On to the only negative...the pool. The pool was clean and plenty big enough but it was absolutely freezing and was saltwater. The story goes that the gas heating system for the pool was too expensive and had been replaced by solar heating. Unfortunately the solar heating didn't work, we heard they were returning to gas heating but not until next year!!! But this is just what we heard from another holidaymaker and not from the hotel itself.

I was happy to brave the pool and so was my oldest, but my other two children didn't enter the pool once. They do have a paddling pool for the younger children and mine made plenty of use of that.

We had an apartment facing the pool and the children's outdoor play area was right outside our apartment which was perfect for the kids.

If the negative comments I have written about the pool aren't a concern to you then these apartments really are superb value for money and the breakfasts are excellent.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the pool is great to keep and eye on the kids whilst they play near the pool and...

Lovely big complex, very clean and well run. We had 2 ground floorstudios (1022 and 1023) that although basic were well kept and very clean. No stunning views from our window or the apartment but we spent minimal time in there! Quiet complex, pool and poolside is beautiful but this time of year pool is way to cold to go in (the kids there didnt care though) and there is a smaller kiddies pool nearer to the poolbar. Poolbar was great, really cheap especially during happy hour (4-6pm) where you could get 2 pints of dorada for 2 euro which is less than a quid each! And 2 wines for 1,50 euros! Food was lovely too and most of the staff were english! free wifi here all day too! Lots to do crazy golf, bowling etc. Lovely restaurants only a step away! Would definately stay here again if we visit lanzarote again but it was a tad too windy and cloudy for us this time of year!

Room Tip: 1022 and 1023 were basic rooms but clean and decent if self catering as we were.

This is the 2nd time I have stayed here and it was as lovely as the 1st visit. Stayed in a 2 bedroom bungalow opposite the crazy golf and padel courts which I know for some it may be a little off putting but it gave me something to watch while sat having a beer or two sitting on the terrace.
The bungalow was very clean and towels changed it seemed almost every day. Microwave , kettle and toaster provided so able to prepare snacks( a lovely sharp knife included which I know seems a little sad to mention but have you ever tried to slice a tomato with a table knife!!)
The complex is very clean and loved the varieties of cacti which are everywhere. Pool area is great and loved the happy hour at the pool bar.
We stayed self catering this time as last time went half board and although had no complaints about the food prefer to go out in the evening and try the local restuarants where we found the prices very reasonable.
Its about a 15 minute stroll into the centre of tequise but there are a few restuarants and bars nearby.
Frequented Steptoes which is just around the corner from the santa rosa for breakfast most mornings (3 euros) and had a couple of evening meals there too. Ran by a lovely couple who are due to retire soon so hope the new owners are just as great.
The staff are friendly and very helpful and overall it is a really nice place to stay with loads of facilities for everyone.
I generally never go back to the same place again but planning another trip later in the year.

Just returned from Costa Teguise after staying at the Santa Rosa. Reception staff are very friendly and helpful. We used all of the facilities including the bowling, tennis and mini golf whilst we stayed there and it is ideal for families with young children. We stayed in one of the bungalows and we were regularly visited by housekeeping with a change of towels 4 times in a week and the beds made at the same time. There is free wi-fi by the pool bar and in the bar in the evenings. The food was lovely with plenty of choice most evenings. I am a vegetarian and found the food ok. The food area was clean and the plates are very quickly cleared away from the table. We found the bar prices very cheap and it's Happy Hour 4-6 pm. The pool is a great size but was far too cold for me to go in as it was unheated. There are plenty of sunbeds but it's the same old problem with selfish people putting towels on beds and not turning up to use them until the afternoon. I also noticed that several people were dragging sunbeds back to use outside of their bungalows, not sure if this is allowed but did affect the amount of sunbeds available by the pool. The grounds around the complex were immaculate and all of the staff we met were friendly and very efficient. We hired a car for 4 days and managed to visit Timanfaya (definitely a must!), El Golfo, Playa Blanca, Puerto Del Carmen. We also travelled up to Orzola and hopped on to a ferry to La Graciosa, which was brilliant. Although we had a car there were excursions advertised at reception which I think they can arrange for you. We used Steptoes Bar nearby where the couple who owned it were very friendly and also walked along the promenade at nearby Playa Bastian to a lovely seafront bar that did a great mojito! Overall a very good place to stay at if on holiday in Costa Teguise :)

Room Tip: Choose a bungalow but try to avoid those that are directly next to the tennis courts

Dont go here, terrible, not good.........all gone?? Good, now lets keep this little hotel a secret.
We arrived on Sunday night at 9.30 pm,prompt check in with a warm welcome, good directions to room, only in for 5 mins when staff delivered 3 plates of food with ham bread cheese fruit and bottles of water as we were too late for the evening meal. Room very large(2005) clean and tidy with view from large balcony over the bungalows and across to the pool.
Entertainment.........
Our first day to get our bearings found the crazy golf(free!),bowling alley(3 euros each)soft play area(free when used with kids club)....speaking of kids club,it is organised and run by a lovely lady called rosemary, who has a constant smile and warm greeting whenever she sees you,and works tiresly from morning till night.
Food....
Breakfast is served between 7.30 and 10 oclock, buffet style with fresh omlettes, pancakes and fried eggs cooked by the chef, cold meats and cheese ,sausages, beens etc and coffee and tea help yourself, all warm, fresh and of good quality.
Evening meal is 7 till 9 pm,with good selection of salads and meats, then fish, chicken etc cooked on griddle section. This varied throughout the week and we always found something we liked.
Pool bar/area.....
Pool was,as commented by others,COLD!!!! and salty, but once you were in it was ok,plenty of sunbeds, but could do with more umbrellas to help with shade.Very clean and tidy, even after the spanish invasion over the Easter weekend!! The lifeguard goes round each morning cleaning and tidying up,but you still get those that don't respect it ,leaving bottles and ice cream wrappers when they leave.
The pool bar was staffed by 2 loverly happy girls ,serving and preparing food to your table, and shouting''HAPPY HOUR'' at 4pm,this meant local drinks and coffee became 2 for 1,good times!!
Out and about.....
Good location, about a 10 minute walk if you go by the main road,25/30 minutes if you go down the side road and thru the gate(which closes at 9 pm) it brings you down to the beach and a nice walk round the front an into the centre of Costa Tequise.
We used Last Minute travel for our trips out, they have an office 500yds to the left of the Coronas Playa hotel opposite the Hotel reception. We did Tequise market 4 euros each, South Tour, which includes Timanfya national park,34 euros, and Playa Blanca Shopping,10 euros......all good days out, clean coaches, friendly guides........Tip for Playa Blanca Shopping, they drop you off for 2 hours at the marina, but tell the guide you dont want to wait for the coach and walk along the promenade and into the main part of the town, because the coach takes you to the ferry harbour at the far end of town ,and you have to walk back in anyway!!
Hope this helps, but Santa Rosa is a very clean, friendly hotel.....just keep it to yourself!!

Room Tip: If you have children, ask for one of the bungalows looking towards the pool

Our party of 12 has just enjoyed a week here in sunny/cloudy warmth. Booked via GroupOn who didn't indicate we were together so we were split up, but it's a short stroll from any part of the site to another.
The bungalows we had were spotless, regularly cleaned and very comfortable. The pool is still chilly but it's large and getting more comfortable. The bar is incredibly cheap - as are many of the local restaurants - given the price rises at holiday resorts across the Eurozone (a beer is 2 Euro, a wine 1.50).
The rest of the island beyond Costa Teguise is well worth getting to - and the sand dunes over at Fuerteventura are like the Caribbean.
I would recommend hiring a car to escape the incessant drone of the tour guides on the coaches. They are friendly but will speak constantly about anything and everything. It is possible to visit the north highlights - cave walk, Jameos del Agua, Mirador del Rio - and drive down to the south to see beautiful volcano landscapes and El Golfo in a long day.
