“Great Family Holiday”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2007

In common with others our party Myself, My wife, Mother-in-Law, Daughter & Grandaughter in 3 rooms (thank God), were slightly worried by some reviews & like many others we had a great time. The rooms did need updating but we only slept in them so you dont notice when your eyes are shut. We were AI and ate in the restaurant for every meal apart from taking a huge picnic to the Water Park (great fun). No problems with the food, tried to find 'bland' (prev reviews) no luck, I did find lots to choose from at every meal & was never disappointed with my choice. The drinks as expected are 'local' labels, but brand leaders are available to purchase.
Two great beaches the smaller one as per prev tip is great for snorkelling
The staff worked there socks off inc. the entertainment staff. We would and are going back next year about the same time.
ONE BIG TIP
Airport to Hotel 2 taxis for us total cost inc tip 38 euro
we booked at Last Minute (not the famous one), which is round the corner from the hotel a mini-bus transfer back @ 20 Euro
You can book excursions with them too

Stayed for 1 week at Puerto Tahiche with my husband, 2 children (5 & 8mths) and 2 other families.

When we arrived we were not given a ground floor apt as requested and as they dont have any lifts, albeit there are only 2 flights we asked to be moved before we even went to our original apt as I was not prepared to mess around every day with 2 children, a buggy and everything else that you take to a pool.

The lady at reception was great, she let my husband take a key to H block to double check it was on ground floor. The room no was 125 at the beginning of the block and was quite large. They were kept very clean and towels etc were changed regular.

The pools were kept very clean and there were more than enough sun loungers for everyone.

We upgraded to breakfast for 5 days and it was well worth the 46 Euros we paid for 2 Adults and 1 child. The food was lovely.

The beach is a stones throw away, one of the most beautiful beaches I have been too.

We ate at Lanis and we would most deffo recommend eating there. The steaks are cooked just how you request them.

Would I go back to Tahiche, you bet. We are waiting for school to give us the dates for next Oct Half term so that we can book again.

The only thing I would have a little moan about is the breeze at night. Thats why they call it Breezy Teguise. It was the same when we came one year in June. So don't forget to pack your cardy.

  • Liked — The size, but thats only because we were on the end. My friends were smaller

Got back from this hotel on the 1st November after a 10 night all inclusive package for 2 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 20 months. After being concerned with previous reviews I am pleased to report that our stay was comfortable, (although the room a bit tired and needing updating (sister hotel undergoing this at the mo)), clean and the food was very delicious with lots of choice.... chips and peas for breakfast???? do any of us really want this though? The amenities were good in the hotel. Location: excellent with access to different beaches and the local amenities were on hand. The staff were extremely friendly and courtious......... would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Got back to UK yesterday, best write this down while it's fresh in my memory! Stayed for a week on A.I. basis, two rooms, 4 adults, 2 children. We thought the Tahiche was better than the other 3* A.I. we have stayed at, the food was good with plenty of choice there was always something to cater for everyone's taste.
The hotel location is excellent right next to the beach, which one of our rooms overlooked (a great view). Staff are friendly and helpful, the whole place is kept clean and tidy. As others have said the rooms are in need of refurbishment, but as our first choice was the sister hotel Lanzarote Bay and we moved to the Tahiche because it was being refurbished, then perhaps Hotetur will move onto refurbishing the Tahiche next?
The only other niggle and this is the case with most hotels, the pools were unheated and freezing. They might be OK in the summer but out of season they need heating to be useable, it was warmer in the sea. The resort is modern and has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants close to the hotel. It is also a windsurfers and divers paradise with plenty of centres offering equipment hire and lessons. It was our first time on this island which has a very dramatic landscape of hopefully dormant volcanos. All in all we enjoyed the place, it's fine, don't worry.

This was a long awaited girlie trip for my sister and myself.
When I read the reports in trip adviser I was terrified of what we where going to but planned to make the best of it!
Well it was great!
The hotel is tired but the rooms, beds and towels are clean and the food is very good!
It does get a bit untidy and messy around the pool during the day but this is down to the people that use it! If everyone used the litter bins provided then there wouldnt be such a problem!
The hotel is in a perfect spot right next to the beach and only streets away from a lovely square with shops and very nice bars!
It is a family resort and we went the week before half term so there where a lot of children about so when we go again, which we will, it will be a different time of year!
Saw one cockroach and stamped on it!
It is only 3 star so all I can say is give it a try but dont expect 5 star facilities when you are not paying for them!

Got back home early Friday 26th Oct after a fantastic two week holiday in Costa Teguise, can't wait to return in January, hopefully staying here again. My husband and I went self catering at the Puerto Tahiche, so cannot comment on the food on offer at the complex.
However, the accomadation, was neat and clean (new mattress on beds however wouldn't go a miss) They were well equipped for us to cook and enjoy our own food if we wish do so. We used the toaster and kettle only ,as we ate out everyday...( due to the excellent choice of restaurants available at very reasonable prices, the food delicious, the service and hospitality excellent, and a special mention to Hammy's and Lani's for making our stay extra special.)
Entertainment on an evening at the complex we found very enjoyable and all the staff very friendly, polite and very helpful.

Arrived 18th October, with my wife and three kids. Because we were 5 had to book two rooms a 1 bedroom apartment and a studio apartment, hoping they would be close together.

Bonus the rooms were together with a dividing door between which we kept open the whole holiday, giving us a large living area with TWO bathrooms, great for getting ready to go out at night.

The rooms I read were basic, I would say basically okay, bed linen and towels changed plus room cleaned 5 times in the week. Beds firm and comfortable, more than enough wardrobe space.

Yes we did have a cockroach or two visit us, but we just caught them and threw them over the balcony. We see this as normal for certain holiday destinations, it's only like finding a spider in your house at home. If you don't like the idea of cockroaches, stay in England. At least there were no mosquito's here.

We had upgraded to All Inclusive, great for the kids there is always something they will like and gives them an opertunity to try other foods/drinks with out extra cost if they don't like.

This is the 6th time we been on an All Inclusive basis and the food was reasonably good. always plenty of variety.

The staff in the resturant and behind the bars were always jolly and smilling, an indication to a well run organisation I always find.

The pools are clean and well maintained, the whole complex is kept likewise.

The pool area can get quite busy when the holel is full, with us Brits grabbing sunbeds as soon as they are un locked at 9.30am putting towels on them then clearing off for an hour or two, we had friend in a near by hotel theirs was less busy and much more civilised.

The Resort of Costa Teguise, is the best Resort on the Island, very clean and well kept, plenty of bars, resturants, shops etc. no where looking shabby. Lovely beaches, on of the beaches is in a small cove and is fantastic for snorkelling, teaming with fish, spent 6 hours in the water there one day.

Overall, it was a very good holiday (the exceptionally good weather helped) I would have no qualms about recommending this hotel but best to go outside the main English school holidays, will not be quite so busy around the pool.
