Vitalclass Lanzarote Sport & Wellness Resort
Ranked #22 of 38 Hotels in Costa Teguise
Reviewed July 27, 2013

My partner and I stayed for a week here at the end of July, start of February. The hotel was very good. On arrival we were greeted with fresh orange, and it was around 11pm when we got there, but they had plated up dinner for us for when we got there which was nice.

We were on the top floor, not too good if your scared of heights. As the shape of the pathway/walkways can take your breath away a little.

The room was very spacious and clean. The best beds we have ever slept in and had the best weeks sleep in ages.

In the day there wasn't many people around the pool a maximum of 8 people, which we didn't mind as we went there just to chill and relax, but it did lack that bit of atmosphere.

The health and fitness facilities were excellent, both my partner and I are both into the gym, and were quite happy to use the facilities I think the gym was 6euros to use.

The location wasn't great if you walk left out the hotel take first right and then left at the bottom, it will take you to the nearest supermarket (10/15 walk) and a few bars shops etc. There is a beach which you can reach by taking a shortcut through cactus garden, but the beach isn't great and is prob 30 mins walk about. However if you follow the front round you will come to a better beach which is 40 mins walk and that is where most the shops bars are.

The staff in the hotel are very friendly, but the pool bar lacks staff and end up waiting a while to be served.

My partner and I went on sand buggies tour, 3 hours, which was really good, I suggest this.

Overall a great time and definatley will return there again for a relaxing break. Just wished we had booked longer!

We booked this holiday specifically as we wanted a more adult themed hotel that allowed us to do our own thing. It fitted the bill exactly for us.

The staff couldn't do enough for you, when you could find them. The reception is always manned, but we were a little disappointed in that in two weeks we never saw the pool bar manned even when we stood there for a while to get served. We couldn't walk into the reception dripping wet so couldn't get served so we didn't order. The resort was very quiet and I understand it wouldn't be sensible having staff employed doing nothing but a mechanism for calling service ( telephone, bell etc ) would greatly improve this service. The same would go for the main bar as this was not open in the time we were there.

The rooms are very well decorated and maintained with very comfortable beds topped with tempur mattresses. We had brilliant nights sleep here. The double bed is in effect two twin beds pushed together which is very common in Spain, not a double bed in my view. The suite is equipped with a power shower and massage chair as a nice touch. There is a safe but it costs you 2.50 euros per day. There is a ceiling fan in the main bedroom and the apartment appears to be air conditioned. There is daily effective maid service and they changed the towels when we requested it. The only issues we had with the room was a bad smell which prevailed when the room was locked up for the day. It cleared as soon as the doors open. We thought it was a general hotel issue, but on our day of leaving we had a courtesy room and this did not have the same problem. Equally the very bad television reception in room 5102 is not the norm in other rooms, so my advice is if its not right tell the staff- they will help.

There is free wireless internet in connection and you can pay for wireless in your room ( 35 euros 15 days) however despite trying to pay there is a issue with their hotspot connectivity and it is unable to maintain a secure connection to pay with pay pal

We were on a bed and breakfast basis and found the breakfast ample and of good quality- especially the freshly cooked omelets. The staff were always friendly and efficient speaking around 4 languages We had lunch here on our last day with selections of salads and other dishes buffet style with fresh meat, fish and stir fry dishes made to order, in front of you!

One issue with regards to dining you need to be aware. There are no restaurants reasonably close to the hotel so if you decide to eat in the evening gentlemen you need long trousers. Whilst I feel this adds a little class to the evening meal it would have been useful if the hotel tells you this on its website, or lets booking agents know. Consequently despite asking and viewing other guests in jeans and vests being served we were not able to eat the evening meal here.

The swimming pools here were cleaned daily and good quality if a little "refreshing". I particularly like the fact that they have an adult only pool. There are plenty of free outdoor multigym, apparatus and volleyball courts and they do have weekly classes such as zumba and salasa. It would be a idea to let guest know when they run so they could join in. The Spar and gym isn't really a integral part of the hotel although its in the same area. You have to pay 6 euros to use the indoor pool and gym. The spar is around 12 euros. We had a complementary voucher and would advise it is worth a visit as there are some more unusual treatments here which are very good.

The hotel is not located as described by Trip Advisor. There is little around the hotel and there are several half built, but abandoned hotel complexes close its location. This sound awful I know but it is not as bad as it sounds. There are 2 supermarkets 6-800m away( back to hotel turn right for a very large Spar with the cheapest booze in town) The sea is around 1.2 k away, the nearest beach about 1.5k with the main town and beaches 2.2k away. It is a nice walk ( cut through the landscaped gardens (top tip:if you are walking back before 5pm from the beach there is a shortcut from the seafront through the Thompson hotel- gate closes at 5pm and you have to press a release button on the main gate to get through- saves 15 minutes walk around!!)and we rather enjoyed the exercise but the distances shown by TA are not right. Please note these distances are accurate as we do a lot of walking and use GPS to track our distances. If you don't want to walk the taxi fair is tops, 3 euros ( at 2.30am to boot) they are clean regulated and safe. There are regular buses too.

The hotel booked on trip for us- the grand tour with Last Minute and we found it to be good value for money. NOTE if you hire a car you cant go all the way around the national park and you wont get told this until you get there. Only tour buses are allowed to do this.

Vital Class is a good hotel with good customer service and value for money. A couple of simple tweaks would make this a excellent hotel and thank you for looking after us during our stay

This is our second time to this hotel in Lanzarote. The Vitalclass has it all if you are looking for a quiet and relaxed holiday. Prices are reasonable for a half board stay. We stayed in a Junior suite which has a double twin room, kitchen, bathroom and living room. So this would also be perfect for a self catering stay. The food at the restaurant is lovely although nothing is labelled so it can be hit and miss as to what things are, however they have a daily grill chef who will give you an amazing omelette for breakfast or an amazing piece of steak in the evening! Hiring a car is must on the island as you will miss all the hidden Gems!

There is also a lovely SPA area with saunas and Turkish baths so you must pay this a visit!
The staff are very friendly and will always go out of there way to make you feel welcome.

Rooms cleaned to a high standard everyday and even wash up the cups after you :)

Room Tip: Ask for a room in block 6 as you will have sun on your balcony from 3.30pm onwards :)

It was simply what we were looking for: a relaxing place, with great service, very nice and big bedrooms, with incredible beds and amazing food. It is situated in the middle of the island, but in the coast, so it was very convenient to go everywhere. More over, my friend and I are very sporty and they had great facilities and a decent Spa. We tried a few skin care treatments and we were very satisfied!

Room Tip: The best rooms are the ones looking to the swimming pool and the sea.

We stayed here back in January but I've only recently started using trip advisor so hence the delay in writing this review.

We wanted to see some winter sun and escape from the cold weather at home, I'd never been to the island before so it was a first for me and what an amazing hotel we found to stay in. We booked through late rooms and stayed half board booked our flights separately. The hotel was quiet when we stayed there but it was out of season so it was perfect for what we wanted. Our room was a suite and was amazing value for money. The food was absolutely amazing (bufffet style) and there was lots of choice on offer with the option of the chef cooking your choice of food exactly to your own taste and you could go back for as much as you wanted. The staff were friendly and welcoming and in the restaurant we were allocated our own table for the duration of the stay which was lovely.
Our room was cleaned for us everyday.
All in all a lovely place to stay, would definitely recommend! Obviously we travelled out of season so it was quiet I don't know what it is like during busier periods also the hotel is a bit out of the way which for us didn't. Matter at all because we hired a car so actually we preferred this because it was quieter but I would imagine it would be tricky travelling around if you didn't have a car.

We would definitely stay here again, great value for money!
