“Average Canary Islands self catering apartments, although very friendly”
Reviewed July 13, 2009

Stayed at the apartments in the first week of July with my husband and 6 year old son booked through Globespan.
Lovely basic apartments, not to forget UK 3 star rating is different from Spanish. Full cooking facilities microwave, full cooker (bit slow) big fridge.
Didn’t think the chambermaids were anything to go by but not to forget it is a self catering apartment, sweeping brush & mop in cupboard.
Good location around 10 min walk from the beach bars & restaurants. Lovely food at reasonable prices main meal between 8-11 Euro, steak Diana between 14-15, lots of breakfast cafes by the beach offering English breakfast for 2.50 Euro, polite restaurant hosts not your usual forceful sales to get you in to the restaurants, even the looky lookies were ok, simple no thank you done it.
Reception staff at the apartments lovely, the pub was quite expensive at 2.80 Euro a pint and 4 Euro Smirnoff Ice, elsewhere within the resort 1.50-2 Euro pint
No cockroaches, couple within the complex at night but none in the apartment. Jennifer (entertainer) was lovely organised pool activities and run the evening entertainment, disco, bingo, reptile show… Everyone goes out their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome, lovely resort
If not sure about the rough waters of Playa Las Cucharas try Playa Del Jeblillo just round the corner as it’s sheltered from the waves and much calmer for the kids, water crystal clear, will include a photo with this review

I was there for two weeks with my family two children and my partner and apartment number 323 needs a big refurb and there was loads of starving cats. There was no entertainment for children and a poor response when complaining to rep of above. There was also no eating facilites apart from pool bar and the food from there was very poor standard.Had to go down to town for eating facillites. We also had to ask for beds to be changed would never go back and would never recommend to anyone.Good for beach and a nice little resteraunt in shopping centre.

Myself and fiance stayed at these apartments from the 26th march for 1 week and for what we paid they were really good. When we arrived check in was very quick and we were given a 1 bedroom apartment overlooking the pool. The room itself 617 was very clean and spacious and included a fridge oven and microwave. The hotel is quite a walk away from the main centre but there are bars and restaurants along the way which are quite resonably priced. The weather was fantastic when we were there, just one day when it was very cloudy. The beach which is about 10 mins walk away from the hotel was nice and really clean and the water was quite shallow aswell so definatley safe to take the children. Lanzarote is quite a windy island so it does get a little cool in the evening so i recommend taking a jacket with you. The hotel itself had a pool bar that served snacks and drink from 9 - 5 every day and again they were quite good prices. In the evening the hotel has an old english pub which had an happy hour eveyday between 6 - 7 where all drinks were 2 for 1 (we started off in there eveynight) I would definately go back to this hotel, They are not 5 star but we didnt pay a 5 star price for them and they were just what we wanted which was somewhere as a base which was clean. The only downfall about this hotel is that the safety deposit boxes were situated in reception and not in your rooms and also you could exchane money but they had really low exchange rates an they charged you 5% commission which we thought was very high. We found an exchange shop about 10 mins walk away from the hotel which had fairly good rates (well as good as they can be at the moment!) and they were commission free. Any questions just send me a message.

Read the reviews ,nothing wrong about these apartments, they show there age, but their friendly staff more than make up for this .Pools. always cleaned every day the maid service was so quiet that you only realised they had been when you got back to your room to find cleah towels and linen .Ten minutes to the beach <, two streets>.Local bars legends Cactus jacks only 100 yards away recommended good shows on.in the evening.Weather was good all two weeks sunny but cooler in the evenings .Never .needed coat/jumper all holliday..Went in the sea snorkeling but was quite cold ,windsurfers had a great time.Timufiya still a great day out ,south Island tour.

Stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment (sef-catering) and this was adequate for 2 people. The facilities included a microwave, kettle, cooker and plenty of cuttlery - even egg-cups! Oh, and a pay as you go TV. The rooms were kept clean and towels changed frequently. The complex has 2 pools - a large pool and a kids pool - Pool Bar, Minimarket, Sports Bar and Disco. The staff were helpful and tried to keep you entertained throughout your stay.
The complex is on the outskirts of Costa Teguise, but there a plenty of bars and cafes etc. within 5 minutes walk. The beach is probably just 10 minutes walk and the main resort just an easy 15 minutes stroll away.
So, all-in-all, a good value holiday.

This place was booked instead of a hotel when we lost our holiday when XL collapsed although a bit more expensive than we orginally planned it was perrrrfeccct!

The room was amazing it was big clean massive living area and huge balcony!! we were made to feel very welcome by staff which we were worried about because we were a young couple and don't often get as good as treatment as the families but they were lovely!!

The beach was lovely much better than puerto del carmen. We had a great new years even we wnet to the square and sat with a lovely couple and had drinks at the cocktail bar then watched the fireworks on the sea front. Bliss!!

The hotel was so clean and had so much to do for children the shop on site was average just your basics quite expensive though so be warned!!

all in all a brilliant hotel of a very high standard you will enjoy so dont fear if your planning on going and you have heard bad reviews I think people just come on here who havent even stayed there and make bad comments!!

Enjoy!!

The pool area was amazing although we hardly swam in it because it was cold (it was christmas!!) we often strolled down to the beach which if walking briskly would take 5-10 mins. fine for pushing prams as there is a main road you can walk around yet there is also a back way which is quicker next to the shop down some stairs.

I can;t comment on the food because I didnt go all inclusive we were self catering, I would reccomend self catering even if your on a a budget as there is a fantastic cheap lil cafe about 10 mins away in the first shopping secntre they are lovely and will make you want you want, great for those who want their sunday dinner still!!!

After being given the Teguisol by deafult( thank you On the Beach.com for not being very helpful!) I read up on where we were staying and to be honest was more than a little nervous about what it was going to be like!!. I can honestly say none of these horror stories I read were in anyway reminiscent of what we experienced when we got there. The aprtment was huge and very clean. Yes the towels were thinner than Kate Moss but again, clean and changed regularly. The pool areas were lovely and the staff very helpful. The location of the apartments were great ( I thoroughly recommend the Swan Inn, great breakfasts and atmosphere, thanks Bob and Maria). They were convenient for all amenities and lovely walks to the Beach and shops etc. I would go back again, the Teguisol is what it says on the tin and also what you pay for.If you want a good clean bargain break then it is ideal. If you want 5* then pay 5* prices!!
