The Galeon seems to have spent a lot of money providing a great kids area - shallow pool with slide, play park with soft floor, craft area. Yet, parents brought kids round to the less kid friendly side. That seems a bit unfair. If I went round to the kids side and acted in a "robust adult" style, or used bad language, I'm pretty sure the parents would suggest I moved on. But it seems ok for them to bring their noisy, running, shouting kids round to the quieter area.

If the Galeon were more responsive to letting kids have free reign in the kids park and left the other area to the adults, this really would be perfection. My suite was ideal (except for squealing kids right outside my balcony). I paid the premium yet feel let down.

I realise some folk enjoy/don't mind having kids run about, but I do. And having a dedicated area for kids *should* be good enough to allow a quieter area. Not here it doesn't. Yes, I've booked adults only before, but for the reason above, I thought this would be a strong bet.

Sorry, Galeon, as much as I loved my suite, I won't be back.

We wanted some winter sun on Lanzarote - we did not intend to move far from the hotel! We had Room (B&B) at a very good price on Lastminute.com. We snorkelled every day for the 11 days we were there... the nearby beach lagoon (across the road) was wonderful for looking at sea life in a safe environment. An easy walk to the Centre of Costa Teguise for evening meals. The room we was in was spacious and nice (4-220), the hotel very clean and the staff excellent. The breakfast was cafeteria type (not much ambiance but more than adequate). We ate three times in the hotel in the evening... cheap and basic but again value for money! We hired cycles one day and cycled to Arrecefe (sp!) ... we are 68 and 65 and could brave the cold sea and cycle 12 miles :) Lovely holiday.

Room tip: You pay extra for good sea views... we could see the sea JUST

First time in the galeon playa and not disappointed. Pool area was clean and tidy and plenty of sun loungers. Read elsewhere people complaining about the loungers being chained up 'till 10am, I suspect that's so you can't put your towels out at 7 when most normal people are still in their beds and we managed to get a nice spot by the pool every day. The staff were very friendly and the free WiFi was much appreciated. Only ate at the pool bar but the food was lovely. Our room was spotless and there was a lift in our block. Booked the night we got home to go back in November this year so can't really give a better recommendation than that and we can't wait.

These self catering apartments are in an ideal position 10 minute walk to the "Square" which has bars & restaurants all around it and should not be missed if you are in Costa teguise, with evening entertainment on the bandstand. The Galeon is good value its basic but clean with rooms being cleaned every other day, which is ok. We had room plus breakfast which was very good, can't say about evening meal as we did'nt have it. We would recommend these apartments.

Perfect location, few minutes walks from sandy cove and plenty on bars and shops on your doorstep. Hotel clean, good kids club team - hard working. First week was quite horrendous for getting sunbeds around the main pool ... People queuing for up an hour before they were unchained! Quieter pool always had plenty of beds, but was exposed to the wind so could get quite cold and wild around there. Second week it was quieter, beds quite easy to get.
Resort is great for families, we were there with our 4 boys (13, 10, 4 & 1). Little less for the older ones but playing cards etc kept them entertained. Felt very safe to walk around, often took he baby for a walk alone whilst trying to get him to sleep, quite late, one of the safest feeling resorts I've holidayed in. Beach lovely, lots of fish and great for snorkelling. Rooms ok, could be a little bigger but we did have a fair few boys with us! Would certainly go back.
