Just returned from the Coronas Playa. The first thing we noticed was the amount of returning visitors to the hotel which speaks volumes.
The hotel is immaculately clean, the rooms are huge with a fridge in.
The food is of good standard although can be similar each night.
Always plenty of beds, the good thing is the hotel will not allow people to reserve beds before 10am which is great. The hotel has clean towels for sunbathing a deposit of 10 euros is required but you get that back at the end of your holiday. The safes in the room are 3euros per night.
The staff are fantastic, very friendly as all the reviews say. The entertainment is great led by Les & Lesley the score and Deano and Stacey. I really enjoyed the quizzes and puck of the six in the pavilion at night.
I do feel that the regulars at this hotel tend to think they should get preferential treatment however the staff handled those situations brilliantly to the point Deano did challenge 1 gentleman for poor behavior. Well done Deano we all pay the same money for our holidays and nobody should be treated differently.
Would I return, maybe for a week but not for my main holiday.
Good hotel overall no complaints

Have been twice before so knew what to expect, reception staff very helpful and were quickly dealt with on arrival, we got the room we requested and found it was cleaned to the usual high standard, however I agree with some other comments it does need updating. The room maid Marga did a terrific job. I had no problems with the food at breakfast or dinner there was plenty of variety and of good quality. Also the bar was up to usual very good standards and with all inclusive was great value especially with branded drinks.
I found Deano and Stacey very good at what they did very entertaining but cant say they same for the Thomson advisers they were most unhelpful and rude at times. Most people we met seemed to like the Pavilion entertainment? however in my view its time the Score departed same every night, the entertainment between 10-11pm was generally very good.
No reserving of sunbeds rule before 10am I think is a good one.
Overall the thing which makes the hotel great is the management and staff they were first class in every respect.

Room Tip: Try for top floor room, I hate people above coming in at 3am in high heels on tiled floors

I first reviewed the Coronas Playa last year despite visiting at least once every year since and it is back to it's very best and we are already looking forward to our next visit! EVERYONE does their very best to make you feel "part of their family", right from the guys & girls on Reception through to the Restaurant [kitchen staff included with great variety on the menu] and on to the friendly "Ola" from the Room Maids. But STAR BILLING has to go to Les & Lesley "The Score" in the Pavillion. They are the heart & soul of the entertainment team and hold everything together. Lesley has a fine voice [and great comedy timing to hold the other reps "in line" on their nights on stage] and Les's deadpan expression always raises a laugh or two....I hope his musical contribution isn't overlooked as he has "1,000 voices" at his disposal on those "keys" and provides full orchestra backing to everything that goes on on stage. Just listen to their "Whiskey in the Jar" to hear that guitar riff straight out of Thin Lizzey!!! FAB-U-LOUS!

Room Tip: Less able bodied would be better off close to Reception but we have never been disappointed with our...

Welcome was very warm and friendly, feels like coming home. We requested a specific room by email (about two weeks before arrived) and we were given that specific room. All the rooms are large and bright and are spotlessly clean.

We stayed all inclusive. There is a good choice of places to eat and drink around the hotel. The Azul bar at the rear of the hotel serves hand-made pizzas while the middle pool bar serves hot dogs, sandwiches etc. The Crown Buffet serves 3-course lunch for €12.

Evening meals in the Crown Buffet. There is so much choice and the food is excellent. I am quite a picky eater but always find something delicious to eat.

The staff here go out their way to make you feel welcome and try and do everything to make your holiday an enjoyable one. We asked if they could reserve a table for our wedding anniversary night and when we turned up the table was was specially set up with balloons and and little paper hearts on the table and they also provided a bottle of cava on ice.

The Monkey Bar is a great place to relax after dinner for a quite drink and has live music every other night. The Pavillion on the other hand has a live act every night and supported by Les and Lesley (The Score).

We have stayed in the hotel 15 times now and it keeps getting better. It is in a great location, only 20 minutes from the airport and about 20 minutes amble into the town centre of Costa Teguise.
