We have just returned from a relaxing holiday at this complex. It is kept spotlessly clean with good facilities including a number of swimming pools (cold at this time of the year), a gym (reasonably well-equipped), spa, cycle hire that caters for all levels (don’t forget to take your shoes & pedals if you wish to hire a road bike), kids club, supermarket, 2 bars (good) and restaurant (didn’t use) with entertainment of an evening if so desired. Accommodation good, cleaned daily and bed comfortable and the one bed superior apartment we booked was spacious, but no air-con which might be an issue in high season. Safe and Wi-Fi cost extra and with the latter only one device was useable at any one time per fee. We booked self-catering and our only real criticism is that it lacked cookware/utensils which might be a problem if you intend cooking a meal of the evening.
The complex is situated directly on the seafront and the main resort area is about a 20 minute walk along the promenade, but there are several bars and restaurants closer by. It will undoubtedly be a great deal busier in the summer months and at that time, in our opinion, more of an ideal base for families than couples/friends. We would certainly recommend staying at the Sands Beach Resort and hope to return next year.

Our hotel as you can see from reviews caters for families, couples and athletes. The beauty of our hotel and the way it is laid means that people think it is not full when in fact it is. The hotel will be no different in summer than it is now as the hotel has been full for the last three months.

Stayed for week me and my partner both 32 lovely week apartments and resort spotless clean couldn't fault it! Very windy tho do bring coat as it is chilly ! We didn't eat there so can't comment on food check in is slow but they give you all the info you need and don't make you feel rushed

We stayed for two weeks in a beach front apartment and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The apartment was very spacious and well serviced by the maids. We did not eat in the hotel as there are so many varied restaurants just ten minutes walk away either along the seafront path or the roads. There seemed plenty of activities for all ages in the hotel and also a book exchange in the bar. We did not pay for the hotel WiFi as again there are plenty of places with free WiFi. It is also worth paying for a room safe but felt that this should have been included in the price. The weather during the first half of March was quite cold and very windy but did improve as our time went
on. You certainly need to be aware of this re what clothes to take. We found info about circular walks around the town and up the hills at the back of the town at the info centre and you can also walk along the coast away from the town centre. All in all we had a good time and would go back again.

My husband and I stayed here for a week at the beginning of March. We were offered an upgrade to a superior apartment for 10 Euro per night (take it!!), which meant that we were beside the best pool in the complex, not far from the restaurant and lagoon.
The apartment was surprisingly spacious with masses of storage and coat hangers in the wardrobe. We had a full size kitchen which meant we actually enjoyed staying in some nights to cook. Breakfast was very varied catering for all European tastes to some degree. Fresh omelettes cooked to order were delicious!
Everywhere was so clean and housekeeping staff very friendly & obliging.
Negative ~ Check in took 35 minutes before anyone even spoke to us!! Reception staff were very slow, no apology for keeping you waiting or even an acknowledgement that you were there. I almost felt as though I was putting them out, however, we didn't need anyone from reception during our stay so it wasn't a huge problem.
I would recommend this hotel and would stay again and next time I will be prepared for rude reception staff!!

Thank you for your review. You will find changes at reception on your next visit. Sometimes when an entire bus arrives at one time it is difficult to get through all the important information and checking in requirements quickly. The staff are aware of the queue of people. They may have appeared rude to you but they are not. It is just the pressure of a group check in and they are aware people have been travelling all day and want to get to their rooms.
We offer an “Express Check in Service. This will eliminate all queues.
In order to avail of our express check in service you need to send us the following with your name and your arrival date and any reference numbers you have.
• A scanned copy of the passports of each member of your party.
• Your credit card number and expiry date.
Nothing will be removed from this card without your permission or PIN. We take card details from each guest checking in to open an account. At the end of your holidays if you have a bill you can pay with the card you have lodged or another card or cash.
When you arrive at Sands Beach Resort you by pass any queues for check in and go to the “Express Check in” sign at reception where you will sign to give us copies of your signatures in case you wish to charge anything at our hotel. You then get your room keys and off you go to enjoy your holidays.
We are pleased you enjoyed the hotel and its facilities and we look forward to seeing you again soon at Sands Beach Resort.

Stayed in beach front and truly loved it! Great for young families as lagoon is only shallow, great amenities onsite with supermarket. Only a short walk into shopping centre with plenty of good eating places. Going back in april and cant wait to get back!
