“Better than expected”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

We got back last night and I have to say reading some of these reviews made it sound like a holiday from hell...and it was far from that! Ok here's a quick break down of what to expect:
What's not so good? Well it's not exactly pretty or posh, but it's aqeuate. It's true one of our wardrobes smelt a bit... But we just used the other one! The apartments consist of a rather large living area with a sofa bed if there's more than 2 of you. The fridge worked ok and there was a microwave, but not enough pans if you wanted to cook something. You have to hire kettles and hair dryers ect, we weren't fussed! The decor and the bedding and towels was a bit dated and if I'd have looked I probably would have found cracked tiles ect.... But really who cares when your only sleeping there!? The worst thing was probably the food. We were all inclusive and the breakfast was great but the rest of the food wasn't for me. It was for the Spanish residents who seemed very happy. The hotel was full of Spanish pensioners which was about 90% of the clientele so who can blame them for catering for them? It was things like liver, rabbit and cuts of meat and the veg was frozen, that I wasn't fond of. However there was always salad, chips, pasta. We took our 20 month baby and she loved the pasta and jelly/ mouses for pudding! We went out for a meal a few nights, but don't get me wrong it wasn't THAT bad!
What was good? Well for one it was clean. The rooms and the facility. The staff were fantastic and really went to great efforts for us, the barman was wonderful and couldn't do enough to help! The location was good too. 10 mins walk to the beach and town and the park which was lovely! The place was quiet which is what we wanted with a baby. The pool area was great for the baby with a toddler pool which was ideal and there was usually sun beds although not enough parasols or shad by far! The baby's cot was great to... A proper mattress and spotlessly clean. The Spanish in the hotel were plesant enough and the weather was great! We had a lovely time and would recommend the resort. All in all I would say better than expected.

Booked a cheap holiday so weren't expecting much, the hotel was nice, the room could have done with a bit of TLC but was fine, food was ok, bit of a walk from bars/restaurants but overall it was good :)

Took a last minute break away for 4 nights. When we checked in on arrival we were pleased to find that we had been allocated one of the adapted wheelchair access apartments; however when we actually got to our apartment I found that my wheelchair did not fit through the front door! Luckily I was traveling with my best friend who kindly helped me getting in and out of the apartment by removing one of the wheels to get the chair through the door! Once inside the apartment everything was fully accessible with appropriately positioned grab rails and shower chair, the door to the balcony even opened wide enough to get outside. Wet room/bathroom would benefit from some non slip flooring.
The accommodation was very basic and I wouldn't call it 4*, but you get what you pay for, a cheap and cheerful place. There was a reasonable variety of food available at each meal time with fish meat and vegetarian options, and plenty of fresh fruit and salad.
Wheelchair access around the pool area, bar and restaurant was good and staff were helpful.
The evening entertainment was basic but generally enjoyable, however it was a little bit like a night at Blackpool Tower Ballroom with all the old Spanish couples dancing! Cute to watch though!

If they widen the front door of the wheelchair accessible apartment I would happily go back for a relaxing break.

Room Tip: Wheelchair accessible room has a narrow front door, not wide enough to fit a standard active user wh...

Spent last week at the 3* (not 4*) as per brochure / travel agents Blue Sea Gardens and despite the mixed reviewed thought I'd give it a go.
Pleasant reception staff to check and ideal room with twin beds and good size living room and self catering kitchen, although I was stayed all inclusive.
Food was good at all times of the day, plenty to choose from what ever your choice. No fresh juice though just sugary juice, yuk.
Pool is ok although I didn't go in a people said it was cold. As cold as the wind that blows right the the pool area with no shelter or windbreaks lying out in the sun isn't that pleasant, but guess that depends on the wind not the hotel.
The bar was my biggest niggle, all inclusive for local drinks ie nothing branded, but only served in plastic 100ml cups, even the lager! Two sips and your back to the bar for another. Most men I saw were getting three small glasses of beer making uk half pint at a time! Ridiculous.
Oh and the bar SHUTS AT A VERY PROMPT 2300 and not a minute later.
If your not all inclusive and have to pay for your drinks then it comes in a proper glass with branded alcohol. They even dust off the pint glasses fir 'paying' customers.
I did complaint to the management but got told this was Hotel Company policy.
The average punter in the bar / entertainment area ever night is the Spanish equivalent of SAGA holiday parties of oldies. The bingo is at 2130 every night, then some traditional Spanish music which all the oldies love and dance to before the entertainment of the night.
Don't miss out of the reptile man with his lizards, snakes and turtle...all kept in small plastic containers and no doubt moved from hotel to Hitel every night 'on show'!! Do the Spanish have an RSPCA equivalent?

So if your under 65 this place isn't the best.

Dear guests,

Thanks for your feedback and interesting remarks. Yes, this complex is a 3*, and we do not announce that it has a 4* rate.

As to the closing time of the bar, we wish to explain that we adhere to the closing time, but also to the opening time: there is a precise organisation that makes everything run smoothly.

Kindest regards.

This should not be rated as a 4 star property. Most of the beds at the pool are broken. The property is not maintained properly. We stayed on an all inclusive basis but ended up going out every night as the food was so poor. I know it's quite cheap to stay there but all we did was sleep in it and even at that was uncomfortable. It's about a 15-20 minute walk into town. Can't say I'd recommend it
