Just got back from lanzarote and have never looked forward to coming home as much in my life! The service is shocking, no manners at all and everything seemed like a chore to them. Food terrible, went all inclusive but after 3 days of the same cold food vowed not to eat there again. The all inclusive package is not what it says either, you can only get food at breakfast, lunch and dinner, you cannot get snacks in between. My youngest was ill from the food after just one day! The rooms were very basic and not clean, plug sockets were loose and the fan looked very dodgy. Maids only came once in a week and so had to go and ask for towels and sheets. Unless you was stood outside by the pool from 8:30am you could not get a sun lounger as they were all taken, guests would get one put their towel on it and disappear for hours (it did say in our welcome pack you couldn't do this and your towels would be removed but this never happened). It was dirty outside with empty beer glasses, rubbish etc which was never cleaned up. The floors were sticky. Overall this was the worst hotel I have been to and it should be rated no more than a 2* (and that's being generous!).

Room Tip: Just don't go!

My husband and I wanted an AI holiday for 1 wk at the end of August that was sunny, relaxing and easy with 2 girls (11 and 2) and we got exactly this. I read all the reviews before I went and was really dreading going; remember this is a no frills holiday and at this price really what do you expect.

The room was clean and tidy; could definately benefit from air con or at least a ceiling fan in the lounge as got very hot although if you open the windows you get a lovely breeze. It is on a conservation area and so they dont change the towels everyday as this would affect the environment. I didnt see any cockroaches but we did have ants that housekeeping gave us some spray for that got rid of them.

The pool area isnt massive but adequate and there are more than enough loungers for everyone although it can get a bit tight. 3 separate pool sections; 1 shallow baby pool, a medium sized plunge pool and the main pool both of which are a bit deep; I am 5'7 and was up to my neck. The beach however is only a 15min walk (even with a buggy) and is beautiful with rockpools and sand; although there is a fair bit of seaweed. Thai massage is available on the beach for 20Euros and is amazing.

The food was really nice and different variations everyday; albeit similar foods ie salad, pasta, stews, rice, chips, soup but perfectly edible and regularly updated throughout the service to ensure it was fresh. Breakfast was full english as well as continental and again was updated regularly. Wine on tap that you could help yourself :-) and was a good dry spanish house white (i didnt try the red or rose). Water and fruit juices also on tap however were a bit watery. Pool snacks are pizza/burger and chips or sandwiches later on. Kids can get tubs of ice cream and soft drinks whenever they want.

Drinks were always served in plastic cups but I was pleased about this given the amount of children as it protected their safety. Beer on tap is San Miguel. Soft drinks are all branded. Spirits are all non-branded but everyone available.

Staff are polite and helpful and liked it if you tried to speak Spanish to them. All seemed a bit overworked. Entertainment was what you would expect and similar to Butlins. You do have to pay 25Euros/wk for internet access however I have been in 5* hotels that dont offer this free of charge. Sunloungers dont need mats on them.

Do come here if:
You want a nice relaxing holiday, basic facilities, good location, 25mins walk from a golf course, 15mins walk from a beach, 15mins walk from a water park and cheap package deal. Good buffet food and decent drinks.

Dont come here if:
You want a la carte menu with waiter service, conceirge, close to the beach, large hotel and luxury.

This hotel is set up as AI although offers self catering but the facilities arent great and AI is so cheap anyway as it is definately the better way to go.

Room Tip: Block E was great, close to the pool but very quiet.

On initial arrival, stood on the dried vomit and dog mess covered pavements, we were hit with an immediate sinking feeling as we had a week here. Our hopes were raised however, when we were greeted by a polite receptionist who spoke good English. It was all downhill from here.
After leaving reception we were surprised and disappointed by how cramped the pool area was. Every surface was taken by one of the sunbeds or one of the 6 or so tables next to the pool. Despite the room all being taken, there still weren't enough sunbeds or tables for all the people who stay at the hotel. The grounds were not maintained, with all the grass being overgrown or dying, the same goes for the plants. Further to this every surface near the pool seemed to be covered in dried drinks, fag ash and sweat.
The room itself was spacious and clean on arrival, however the maid only came twice in a week and the toilet had no door, just a curtain?! the 'double bed' was actually two singles pushed together. this would not have been a problem except they were two different heights. above the bed was the worlds slowest rotating fan. At least we had a TV. I rang reception to check whether there was a charge for it's use only to be told cryptically: 'yes it is free, you only have to pay 20 Euros'.
In fact there were charges for everything at this hotel, irons, Jacuzzi, sauna, everything we were led believe was in the price of the room actually was charged for. That's if they actually have the facilities they advertise. This place advertises a gym, however on arrival there was none, which is either a lie, or an unacceptable mistake in their advertising.
The bar is mainly run by a young man who speaks good English. He is a miserable soul who seems to die a little more every day. We had the impression he was very overworked as he was putting in long hours. but it is reasonable to expect the man to look you in the eye as he serves you and not to disappear when there are queues of customers.
Food. Breakfast was fine, but lunch and dinner were hit and miss: Some days the food was perfectly fine and actually pretty good. Other days the food was absolutely dire. We ate out every evening and on the last day we ate out all day as we could not bear anymore chips and Bernard Mathews 'meat'.
Overall, this place is an absolute festering toilet of a hotel. In this case you do not get what you pay for. It couldn't even muster the things it said would provide or even a door for my toilet. If you like visiting zoos, this may be the place for you.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else.

We have just spent the last 2 weeks in August, our first all inclusive holiday, with our 14 year old daughter. I agree with all the good comments as they clearly match our views and opinions. The rooms were basic but always clean and towels/bedding changed regularly. Food fresh and plenty of choice, one slight complaint is that the veg ie broccoli and cauliflower was sometimes slightly overcooked for our taste but still perfectly edible.

All the staff were very hardworking and extremely polite and friendly.

After a few days having acclimatised to the heat we participated in most activities including pistol shooting, archery and bowls. The high light was the water polo which was a good ice breaker making lots of new friends.

An excellent time had by all thanks and see you again hopefully meet lots of the same crowd again.

Room Tip: Don't ask for a pool view if you want no noise.

I have just returned from a week here with my 2 children that are 7 an 5 and my mother. Do not get me wrong, I purchased this holiday at a very low price, considering the time of the year but just the little things could of made it better. Things such as air con in every room, the heat on an evening was unbearable, we had a fan in one room, we decided to swap rooms each night just for a chance with the fan!! Different sized plastic glasses to distinguish between adults and children's drinks is a must!! I can't believe they do this. The tables around the pool need cleaning throughout the day, there a cups, spilt alcohol and soft drinks, cigarette butts left until cleaning time on an evening, everywhere is sticky. The location is not the best, around a 15/20 minute walk to the nearest beach and 10 minutes to the nearest supermarket and bars etc. the food was the same every meal!! We ate out on many occasions!! Overall you get what you pay for, the entertainment was good in my eyes, the waiting for drinks at the bad was not!!! I'd give this a low 2/5
