“amazing holiday, honest review”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2012

I had to write this review straight away because it makes me so mad that people write moany reviews just for the sake of venting to the world, when really what they're doing is putting people off a potentially great (cheap) holiday, or, if they choose to ignore it, making them paranoid that everything about the hotel they've already booked is going to be rubbish.

I just came back from a week at costa teguise gardens and had an amazing time, here's why:

DRINKS: All the basic stuff is included, the bar staff will make you any cocktail you want. You get small plastic cups but trust me there's enough alcohol in them!

FOOD: Lots of variety, same as I've had in every hotel I've stayed in. Really nice fresh salad, fruit, bread. If you only eat chips that's fine as well because you can just eat chips every day. Also you can get pizza, chips at the pool bar 1-3, then sandwiches and ice cream after that.

ENTERTAINMENT: Ok if you want 18-30s go to Malia, Magaluf whatever. This is a quiet resort and we knew that. June is spanish pensioner season, july - august is more young english. There was bingo every night but we played once and it was actually a laugh. You can win 70 euros which isn't a bad thing hey?! We spent the start of most nights sitting at the bar chatting to the barmen and other guests. Happy days.

PEOPLE: The staff at the hotel made the holiday. Hamza, Franklin, Danny, Juan - you're so great. Entertainment from Paul and Quincy was good as well. We wet ourselves watching Paul lead the geriatric line dancing every night. (if you go with a positive attitude you can actually make the best of everything)

ROOM: No problems at all, I got everything I asked for like extra pillow, more toilet roll, fix the fridge. Cleaners don't come every day but they do if you ask!

It's a bit of a walk to the main town but you can get a cab for 3,50. There's various english karaoke bars and a club which were fun enough. If you want more nightlife you can go to puerto del carmen.

We'd massively recommend hiring a car - it cost 25 euros for the day all inc. and we got to see loads of the island including puerto calero market and the timanfaya national park (8 euro entry, worth a trip).

If you're a couple or family wanting a nice quiet, CHEAP holiday, this is definitely for you.

Room Tip: it's worth asking for pool view but doesn't make a huge difference

My husband and I have recently returned from a two week holiday at this hotel, We couldnt fault anything really. The food is spanish orientated (its in Spain!) no problem with getting drinks (Hammezi you are a great character) and the pool was lovely and lots of sunbeds, our apartment overlooked the road and had a large balcony. We were there when the Brits were having meetings about being told off for not being quiet when other guests were playing bingo, I have never before seen such bad manners. There was about 10 of them sitting around the bar all talking and had been asked a few times to be quiet- their response was "we are on holiday as well-why should we be quiet". After this it became really embarrasing to watch as the next night they asked to sit in television room when the bingo started. after having meetings, and if you were British and didnt go it was like "you`re not in our gang" - so childish, They were also rude to the spanish oaps who got up to do ballroom dancing, dancing round like idiots and bumping into them. We and a few sensible other couples just ignored them- we were there for a holiday not to cause friction. How being quiet for 20 minutes caused this problem shows how petty these people were. Apart from this we had a great time.

We booked this hotel last minute and were a bit sceptical after reading the reviews on here, as we normally stay at lanzarote bay when we come to costa teguise but thought we would try this as it was a lot cheaper, and to be honest most of the reviews on here are lies. Fair enough the rooms are basic but they have everything in them you need, we went all inclusive so the kitchenette didn't bother us, but it had a fridge, cupboards and hob. Kettles and toasters could be hired if you needed them. the rooms were cleaned every other day, towels were changed if you left them in the bath not hanging up so they knew you wanted fresh ones, which was what they asked you to do. In our room we had 2 bedrooms, a large lounge with the kitchenette and 2 larges balconys, one over looking the road and out to sea which was the size of 2 balconys put together and the other over looking the pool. The pool area was clean, it was cleaned every morning as we went to breakfast all the cleaners were out making sure it was clean ready for the day. If it was windy there could be some plastic cups blown about but this was due to people leaving hem lying around and not putting them in the bin which can't be helped if people didn't tidy up after themselves. There was plenty of room around the pool and plenty of sun beds, the pool was cold but what do you want when it was 40 degrees a hot pool, no people we just jumping in the pool to cool down due to the heat. There was plenty of choice in the food, the same as you would expect anywhere you go, I've been to quite a few Spanish hotels and the food has been the same in all of them, there was eggs, bacons, beans etc for breakfast as well as pancakes with 3 different choices of syrup, bread, croissants, cereal and fruit. For dinner and there was again loads of choice, chips, pasta, salad, pizza, different meats, fish, rice and plenty of deserts. If you have been to a Spanish hotel before the food here will be the same. The was a few people who you could tell we're fussy and just ate chips but they were the toe of people likely to complain as they were unwilling to try anything else. All the staff in the hotel were brilliant and there was entertainment every night, we had seen some o the acts before from when we stayed at lanzarote bay, which I think is a 4 star so the entertainment can't be that bad if other hotels have the same. They had bingo at 9:30 then entertainment at 10pm, while we were there the Entertainment included, a reptile show, Black light show, body magic, games where the guests were involved and professional singers. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk to the beach but hat didn't bother us and didn't seem to bother many people can't see why people are complaining, it was a nice walk to the beach plenty of different routes to take and a bus stop not to far away to get to the other resorts, we went to puerto del carmen for 2.50 euro each, but the resort was more or less the same as costa teguise just bigger. Overall I would go back to this hotel again, you get what you pay for but I would say it was excellent for the price we paid, you can't expect a 5 star which is what some people seem to want. Don't listen to other reviews on here, I came back form holiday today and read some of the latest reviews and couldn't believe how much some of them had lied. Just give it a shot you won't be disappointed!!!!

ashamed isnt even the word. i have visited the island a number of times and went for a cheap relaxing holiday.
we found this hotel perfect, basic but you get what you pay for, and yes there was a large number of spanish guests.
the staff were fantastic and couldnt do enough for you, the entertainment guys never stopped working trying to keep everyone happy and hamza on the bar just worked like a robot.
but you cant keep everyone happy and there were a few english women trying to rally everyone together and join them in petty complaints to the director.
to be honest they were loud horrible drunks who made a show of themselves and gave there country a bad name.
this hotel is cheap and cheerful which was just what we wanted.

I visited in May 2012 along with one of my friends. We had an excellent and very relaxing holiday.

The entertainment team, Paul and Quincy, and Bogac from reception were great! They were so friendly and really made our stay very enjoyable!

The accommodation itself is basic and our towels were not changed at all in a whole week but at the end of the day we were all inclusive for such a cheap price so we were happy.

Our holiday was really made by the staff we became friendly with, the relaxing atmosphere and the karaoke bar just down the road, Jesters!

We would both return to this hotel and had an excellent holiday :-)

We have just returned from the Aparthotel Blue Sea Costa Teguise Gardens - June 2012. Please do not waste your money - this is at best a 2 star. The food is well below average, the hotel reception staff are very unhelpful, rude and abrupt. We also encountered two fellow guests who had been burgled. The thiefs broke in to their rooms via the very old and easily opened windows. On further investigation, it was clear to see that all of the windows around the hotel had visible signs of break-in and/or attempted break-in. The hotel staff refused to assist these poor people and refused to admit they had a security problem. The rooms are very tired and dated. The cleaner mops the floor every two days but just spreads the dirt around.

Further, the hotel is situated around 15-20minute walk from the town centre - the walk is very uninspring and boring which adds to the hassle. Any additional hotel services, i.e. safe, pool towels etc have to be paid for which is a real joke as they are sub-standard.

They advertise a tennis court and as keen players we wanted to use this facility but were horrified to find out that they wanted to charge us 10 Euros per hour for the use of the court. Needless to say, we didnt play and the court lay empty all week.

Costa Teguise is a lovely resort and well worth a visit if you want sun, sand, sea, good food and wonderful evening entertainment but please choose your hotel or apartment wisely and read the reviews. We would urge you to book closer to the town and avoid this hotel at at all costs.

Room Tip: Dont stay here - it is awful.
