Check in process was smooth and efficient - fresh orange juice provided which is a nice touch as we had arrived early we left our cases and returned at 1 pm when we were able to access our room. We had booked the classic room on B&B, as previous reviews have stated these class of rooms are dated though we found the size of the room to be perfectly adequate.
The next part of this review is balancing what we paid - value for money. We booked a very good deal with Melia direct which also entitled to a 15 euro credit per day to be used in the bars and food purchases. Having researched through the internet we managed to make a 60% saving against tour operators costs! The room is dated but comfortable with tub chairs and a large balcony where we could view the sea and also sneak a look at the level Grand Villa which looked amazing. The bathroom was fine, small but had twin sinks a separate toilet area and bath with a shower over. The shower did have a mind of its own occasionally sending scorching hot water through whilst showering which was not pleasant!
The breakfast choice was vast and quality was acceptable with the added touch of cava which was lovely every morning as a treat! We booked the taster menu at Marea which was held on Saturday and Thursday during our stay, food quality was excellent and included wines, water and coffee. The service was outstanding the two waiters were very attentive - thank you.
Overall we had a great stay had I been paying the tour operator rates then my view would have been different as I would have been expecting a higher standard of room.

First stay at the Melia Salinas and it was fantastic! We escaped for a four day break without the children and this was the perfect hotel for couples time. Initially, we arrived feeling none too pleased as the transfer, provided through melia.com, left us at the airport for 1.5 hours!! This was after we had checked with the desk that we wouldn't be waiting as our flight arrived early - we were told 15mins which kept being another '5 mins' each time we asked. We would have just jumped into a taxi as we knew it is only €20 but they were insistent that we were about to leave! Anyway, we eventually arrived and were greeted with friendly staff, iced tea and help with my luggage. We were allowed to check in early which was great. The rooms were lovely - very comfortable beds and a great night sleep due to blackout curtains. Private balconies were heavenly little sun traps! The location is excellent - particularly as we are accustomed to the extra little walk away from town when we stay at Sands. We really enjoyed the tennis, table tennis and even the somewhat waterlogged mini golf! The breakfast was amazing - plenty for everyone: smoothies, freshly prepared fruits, cereals, Cava, omelettes made to order, eggs, bacon, cakes, pastries, absolutely everything really! Definitely the best breakfast I've had in 20 years of Costa Teguise. Finally you must try a Melia Salinas cocktail - gorgeous! Oh and regarding restaurants to visit: we are frequent visitors to the area and can recommend: Bacchus, Mister Romeos, newly opened Masala Lounge, Beijing and El Maestra. Enjoy!

In the marketing information given out to guests, it states that the Level is "like a boutique hotel within a hotel". Disregard this information. The Level does not always offer the kind of services a boutique hotel might. Breakfast is taken in a huge dining area, and not in the small area that is shown on line. Breakfast was in essence an enormous array of food, well presented, but actually not of very good quality. The Sea View bedroom is exactly the same size as the Premium Bedroom offered in the rest of the hotel - it is small. The bath is tiny and the shower inadequate. We did not receive special checking in facilities or similar services as stated on line.
The plus points are the extremely beautiful pool area for the Level clients. It is a joy to be there.
Special spaces are available for client parking, just outside the hotel reception. But for us there didnt seem to be much more. We were still in a huge hotel.
However, we did see the Level receptionist, and stated all the above points. She was extremely helpful and for this we thank her.

Room Tip: When booking any room, ask for an even number. The odd numbered rooms face east, and do not get the...

Dear guest,

Thank you very much for taking your time to write your impressions about The Level at the Meliá Salinas. It was a pleasure to speak with you last day and to hear your opinion.
I am very sorry if the information that you could read is not the correct one. In our hotel, breakfast is served on the main Restaurant, we do not provide a separated breakfast for Level guests. As well you explain, The Level offers the Level Lounge, The Level Pool Bar and also the exclusive pool area.

In a future we would like to prepare this separated Restaurant exclusive for The Level guests , but at the moment it is not possible.
Once more, I appreciate your comments and those will be reported to the hole staff.
While you are at the hotel, please do not hesitate to contact me for everything you may need.

Your sincerely,
Vanesa Regueira

We found this hotel to be quite wonderful - right by the beach, with pool jacuzzi and lots of comfy places to sit. Our room was very comfortable with lovely balcony and sea views. A fridge and kettle are provided (take your own coffee etc. shop across road). Room was cleaned daily - usually whilst we ate breakfast. All staff were very helpful, especially Gemma the Thomson rep. We enjoyed trips to Timanfaya and north island, and the blanket trip to Playa Blanca was OK.

Breakfast buffet was wonderful lots of choice of cereals, fruits, yogurts and continental breakfast and breads. Cooked food included 6 choices of eggs (including omelettes made as you watched), fish, Vegs, bacon and 6 different sausages plus various pastries.

Dinner buffet again superb - 2 Choices of soup, a wonderful choice of cold salads and starters (including smoked salmon and caviar). A choice of about 24 main courses, including a carvery, 3 meat stews, 6 choices of meat and 6 choices of fish cooked as you watched, vegetarian items, paella, etc., etc. Thensweets need a page to themselves! Gateaux, lots of smaller items to pick and mix, plus ice cream sundaes and fruits. Evening entertainment varied andb was ok mostly.

Overall a wonderful hotel.

Room Tip: 4th floor rooms have good sea views

Loved this hotel although I had been a little apprehensive prior to our visit. We had a Junior Suite on a lower floor and looked straight out onto the beach and across the bay. Had a huge terrace that had the sun all day and managed to keep out of the wind. My husband was ill whilst we were there and the hotel staff couldn't do enough for us. We had a couple of problems but on reporting them there was somebody there to fix them almost immediately. The food was great, a huge choice to suit everybody's taste. We did not find it at all repetitive. The show cooking was great, particularly the flaming bananas and crepe!!! Put on nearly half a stone in a week!! We had access to The Level, great area and the heated saltwater pool was beautiful. Our Thomson Rep, Gemma, was always available and offered good advice and recommendations. Found all the staff to be helpful and friendly. Will certainly be going back.

well my wife and I have just completed our 5th visit to this Hotel.Previously this was called the Gran Melia Salinas, the name has changed but the service is as good as it has always been.
We upgraded to a Grand Suite at a reasonable cost, which got us access to the Level Garden area ( well worth the cost ) The staff as usual were excellent and the food especially at dinner was the best wev'e ever had in any hotel.
Anyone looking for a good deal needs to go during the month's of January and February and ask for a room overlooking the beach and bay.
We went on the 9th January for one week and the weather was good with a little rain during the night.

We stayed at this hotel recently , we were upgraded as we had told them we were staying for our 30th anniversary. Our room was a little dated but comfortable , my only complaint is that the bed was very hard ! The bathroom was ok & there was always plenty of hot water. the sun beds around the pool can be a bit of a problem if you try to get one after 9.30 & yes people do put towels on to reserve , then do not use them !! We loved the food in the spices restaurant , the staff are all very helpful ,you can always find something different to eat at the buffet, the show cooking was fantastic as you could choose what you wanted, cooked how you wanted .We are already going to go back , hopefully next month !!

Room Tip: high floor for the best views.
