We have booked our 2 night stay at this hotel via booking.com (only the room, no food included) and enjoyed it very much. We booked a suite and were given a room on the 3rd floor on the side of the building. Although we did not have seaview with this room we did have sun at the end of the day. The staff was very service minded and did their best to help with everything needed (eg. printing boarding passes, detergent for the washing machine, having a broken sliding door to the balcony fixed straight away etc.).

We used the gym equiped with various cardio equipment, spinning bikes, weights etc. and furthermore we also used the spa several times during our stay (this was all included in the room price). When you don't have a car there are public bus stops within 100 metres from the hotel and some small shops (including a supermarket).

Booked this resort through Secret Escapes at the last minute. I've not visited Lanzarote before, but would definitely return at this time of year. We had a junior suite, 173, with direct access to the pool our own sun beds on our own terrace! Our terrace was sheltered from the winds and was the last one to still be in the sun at the end of the day, what more could you ask! As others have said the resort mostly caters for Germans, we met some lovely people and yes the Brits did tend to stay together. The food is good for all-inclusive, one shouldn't expect 'fine dining' at this sort of resort. The whole hotel was incredibly clean and all the staff were very helpful, our room was huge and a kettle, microwave, toaster and coffee machine were provided along with a selection of glasses, plates, cups etc.

Room Tip: If I was to return I would definitely ask for Room 173 again

My husband and I stayed at the hotel in a junior suite from 27th December 2012 to 3rd January 2013. The hotel is very modern and exceptionally clean. Our suite was very large and because it was situated at the back of the hotel it was very quiet. Food in the restaurant was varied and of good quality, however the provision of a microwave for those guests wishing to heat up their food would have been appreciated. Service in both the restaurant and bars was both friendly and efficient. We were not impressed by the menu at the Italian restaurant nd there was a problem with cats at it! There is a wide range of activities for adults and children also a spa which is free for all-inclusive guests. The hotel is situated in a quiet area of the resort but within easy reach of shops, bars, buses etc. and is right at the beach. Carina, the Austrian fitness instructor went out of her way to speak in English to us and to translate at some of the entertainment activities for us. However, the hotel must make more effort to cater for their non-German speaking guests. We did have an excellent holiday at the hotel and would return to it without hesitation.

Room Tip: Higher floors are always quieter and the rooms at the rear of hotel will be quieter at peak times.Th...

My family and I took a TUI package flying from Munich and stayed in HD hotel for a week from Dec 23. The hotel and its facilities were well kept, our junior suite was quite big, and our terrace was so close to the beach! The receptionists were very helpful and friendly and so were the kitchen staff (for special dietary needs), and the bar staff, and the heated indoor pool offered a good alternative when it was windy outside. The buffet meals were overall good, many freshly cooked, and not prepared industrial style. HD gave free access to WiFi, and there was a watersports center, and many games were available (table tennis, billiards, etc). There was entertainment every evening, although in German. HD (or TUI) had activities everyday for different age groups, although we concentrated more on the excursions. The combination of wonderful Lanzarote, HD Hotel, and travel packager TUI (including the plane we used, TUIfly!) ensured an excellent vacation for us.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a week in June. We booked on booking.com for a very resonable price, we had booked a room only but you can also book all inclusive. We had a really lovely big room with a big bathroom. the balcony backed right onto the pool which was nice. The facilities were all great, had use of the spa which was fab. The staff are really friendly and helpful Even though we didnt book all inclusive, all the drinks were all inclusive for all people staying there and you could also get ice creams free in the day, For a young couple it was a nice luxury room, the only disadvantages are that the entertainment in the evening is all in german and costa teguise itself is quite quiet but we went on the bus to playa blanca and puerto del carmen for a few eveings where it is more lively. Really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone.

So we stayed here in July 2012 for two weeks, we were originally transferred from a different hotel nearby. We arrived at the hotel by an airport transfer and thought it was really strange that we were the only ones to be staying here. It became clear within minutes though that we were actually the only English couple in the entire hotel. We were greeted in German and found that a lot of the signs and information around the hotel was also in German. We arrived at about 10pm and the nice lady on reception had arranged a supper for us, consisting of mackerel, bread and tomatoes. It was okay, not really my thing but was a nice thought.

We were taken up to our room and wow it was very impressive. Very clean, and well presented, real luxury. The only thing we found strange was that the bed was two singles pushed together, and you did sort of disappear down the middle during the night. Room was cleaned and towels changed by the very lovely maid. The bathroom was also very nice, however the window in the bathroom is the only form of ventilation and leads straight out onto the hallway outside. Air conditioning was brilliant. Being on the pool level we had our own private terrace complete with our own sun loungers and table. This was great as people did reserve the sunbeds very early in the morning and little was done to stop them. We could literally just walk three steps and be in the pool (which is saltwater and very cold) not a problem as it was the middle of July and boiling so was quite refreshing. Didn't have much of a problem with the pool being overcrowded however once a week a snorkeling instructor came to teach the kids and I felt under pressure to get out of the pool. There is another smaller pool on a lower level which I would recommend for a quieter more relaxing day. Also at 10 o clock EVERY MORNING the kids club sing this song and repeat it about 4 times throughout the day. It's soooooooo annoying!! They do it right by the pool outside everyone's rooms and if you've had a heavy night before it's really far from ideal. There's also a spa which we went to check out but didn't actually end up going.

We went all-inclusive and found that the food was also catered to German guests, and got very repetitive, very quickly. Most nights there is a chef on the grill cooking fresh fish and pork etc. After a week we began eating out. Having the drinks was brilliant however, and although the pool bar was no where near the pool it was very easy and served soft drinks, beer, wine and water, and if you were really lucky, a small jug of sangria which usually emptied within 5 minutes. The beer was nice, wine not so, in fact, maybe the worst wine I've ever had. Just tasted cheap. We eat in the Italian restaurant in the hotel twice. I think it's once a week your allowed to go, which is good, but I would book as soon as you get there as it does fill up very quickly. Capacity is about 30 for the night. They had overbooked on the night we were due to eat there and so they set a table up outside. Not great. The food was lovely however the menu is in Italian and German, which meant we were googleing the words in English. The starters are kept outisde on the patio and some are not covered up which I found a bit odd. There was only one waitress on both times we went so service was very slow.

On the first night, one of the lights in our room went, leaving us in pitch black. A maintenance man came up within 20 minutes or so to fix it, however didn't speak a word of English so left us trying to mime what had happened. He disappeared several times, came back and just started hacking the light switch off the wall without even turning the power off, we ran to our balcony at this point. He didn't fix it - just told us not to use that switch for the rest of the holiday.

We went out quite a bit into the local town. Anyone who says it's a twenty minute walk away must walk at the pace of a snail. It's not that far at all and is a lovely walk along the beach front. There's several shops, restaurants and bars. The best of which are on the square right at the top. Lovely atmosphere with music playing, especially when the market is on ( Wednesday and Sunday I think) and there's a lot of Irish bars. It was nice to hear some English!! There's several good restaurants, and some real gems which give you a true taste of the island rather than being a tourist place.

The entertainment in the hotel was again in German and aimed at children. It was very varied but it didn't really matter cause we didn't understand a word. For quiz night we asked if they could do the questions in English as well and they did for about 3 questions and then just gave up. The drinks were lovely. I found the bar man quite rude and sarcastic. The patio area outside the bar is lovely, but SO windy! You get splashed with the water from the kids area if you sit in the wrong place. Also, get there early cause it fills up quickly.

There's loads to do in the surrounding area, especially watersports because of the wind. I wouldn't recommend the beach. It's lovely but like being in a sandstorm! You can also hire out these strange bike things which is great but hard work up the hills!

We had a lovely stay at HD beach resort. The hotel is lovely, and we didn't want to come home. I would stay here again, however I wouldn't go All-Inclusive again and would definitely go with friends so we didn't feel so 'on our own'. I think this hotel would be absolutely PERFECT for German guests, and I bet if I was German i'd have given this hotel 5 stars.

Room Tip: Definitely ask for a room on the pool level, you get a lovely private terrace area with your own sun...
