Just back from a week at the Royal Palms and we had a good relaxing holiday. Our flight was delayed but we had a friendly and efficient check in, greeted with a glass of cava and they kept the restaurant open for us. Hotel was only opened 4 years ago so it is fresh, modern and spotlessly clean. Room was excellent, large, very well appointed, wide sea view and excellent housekeeping service. Buffet restaurant had a good variety of food, well presented and regularly restocked. Desserts were to die for! We also enjoyed our free meal in the Culinarium al-a-carte. Staff are polite and helpful. No waiting for a table in the restaurant and there were always plenty of empty sunbeds at any time of day. Beach is beautiful and lovely to walk along (check tide times). Supermarket is 20 mins stroll away and you can walk into Jandia in 45mins/hour (can get bus/taxi). Negatives: Nothing major.. drinks, particularly soft drinks are very expensive e.g. 4 euro for a small glass of Coke, 3.5 e for 0.5 litre bottle of water. (Buy in supermarket and keep in fridge in room e.g 5 litres water for 78 cents, no problem with having your own drinks/snacks around the pool). Lots of steps in the hotel keep you fit; entertainment is very low key; no drinks service/pool bar at main pool and only a "hut" at the more popular lower pool. They sprung a black and white formal evening (at the buffet) on us on our last day. Would have been helpful to have had prior notice so we would have had something appropriate (and clean !!) to wear. Would we stay again? Yes if we wanted to relax and recharge the batteries in a quiet setting. Would prob hire a car next time though

Room tip: definitely worth having a sea view room

Firstly this hotel is not for anyone looking for excitement or entertainment; having said that we had a great week. The weather was glorious the Bali beds are absolutely worth investing in for the day, the rooms are big , spotlessly clean and v v quiet it is a 50 minute transfer from the airport but if your looking for peace and relaxation it is definitely worth the trip , it did seem much quicker than that thanks to the great road networks .
We went B&B and glad we did , we ate in the al carte restaurant over looking the sea twice , it’s mainly Italian food and we enjoyed everything we had (bearing in mind it’s no Jamie Oliver restaurant but it is good and the staff are wonderful , v friendly v engaging ). The rest of the holiday we took a cab to the local town - ask to go to the old town so that your right on the sea front where the lovely promenade is and lots of lovely bars and restaurants ( please see other reviews for a must visit tapas )
Anyway back to the hotel ; we stayed my the lower pool everyday as it’s warmer and you are shaded from the wind. I also took in the yoga /Pilates and keep fit classes in the out door area by the pool , these were excellent as was the young lady instructor so highly recommended .
My only criticism is there are not enough snack bars or restaurants open for lunch only the ala cartel which we made our way through the menu so after a week we got quite bored with that . The food was good just v Samey. Also TUI have not clocked onto the war against plastic which the rest of the world has taken up , you can only purchase bottled drinking water from any of the bars , it’s expensive and if your thirsty you have to wait for the bar to open , this is pretty lapse for such a large hotel and company as tui to not provide any fresh drinking water FOC . You can walk up to the spa super marker opposite the jandin princess hotel but it will take 20-30 minutes and in the heat is no fun ! So we purchased our water when out in town in the evening ; charging 3 euros for a small bottle of water by the pool is day light robbery - they should wear masks so you know your being robbed !!! Apart from that we had a great relaxing holiday just for a weeks get away after a stressful few months . We came back super brown and super chilled & would definitely go back for some relaxing winter sunshine .

Staff friendly and welcoming on arrival. Check-in was quick as wasn't part of a package holiday.

Room:
We stayed in the Royal Suite which had a prime location overlooking the sea (room 2010). Nice and clean. Daily clean and turn down service. Two TVs one in the living room and one in the bedroom. Bathroom large. Slippers, robes and toiletries provided. Mini bar ,tea coffee making facilities area - no cooking appliances though. Nice spacious room. Room gets 10/10.

Hotel:
The hotel itself lacks signs so it wasn't easy to navigate, it's a big hotel. Location of the hotel for beach lovers is great, if you like shopping there are no shops in walking distance, only a supermarket which is still about 30 mins walking time, we hired a car with Cicar which cost €136 for the week so very reasonable. Hotel is pretty and has turrets and arched doorways/windows. 9/10

Restaurant:
Buffet breakfast is fine plenty of seating and choice. You are not allowed to take any food out of the restaurant even fruit!

Evening meal is far too busy, restaurant opens at 6.30pm if you get in at that time you will get a seat, if you go in any later you will have to que up.
Half of the seating were cordoned off so it was far too busy.
We went in at 7.30pm once and we walked out due to no seats - it was so full, we went into the á la carte restaurant and paid (really nice pizzas).
Another night we went into the á la carte for dinner and then into the buffet for puddings at 9.00pm. The waitress came over to us - we though she was going to ask if we wanted drinks, what she wanted was to see the room number card - thinking we had walked in off the streets! Rude.
They were also taking things away at 9pm and setting up for breakfasts in the morning which is silly as people can still come to dinner till 9.30pm. Good luck if you eat past 9pm as tables are not set!
The food itself is extremely salty.. i.e the mashed potatoes and fish, there is also a lack of choice for vegetarians!

The restaurant fiasco let's the hotel down hugely.

On the Tuesday (one day after being here) I came down with sickness and diarrhoea for two days only recovering properly on the Friday. I actually vomited at the reception area, upon paying the bill on the Sunday evening the receptionist didn't even ask me if I was feeling better!!
I think this was after eating bad lettuce which had gone brown and wasn't actually cold (ecoli, salmonella or listeria which can be found on salads).
There is also a cleaner who comes into the restaurant and seems to wipe the surfaces so I don't know whether meat and non-meat areas are cleaned separately.
4.5/10

Indoor pool/hot tub:
Always empty as right near the beach and there are three outdoor pools.
9/10

Overall would not do half board here or come here again based on the restaurant area and the sickness I had.
8/10

Just back from a 3-week holiday at the Sensimar - so many good things to say. Starting with our on-site Tui Rep, Tom Hudson who was enthusiastic, helpful, knowledgeable and interested. No pressure sell on the trips, just down to earth good information - rate him as one of our best Reps in a lifetime of travelling with Tui. Hotel staff, despite a 2 hour delayed flight, waiting for us with a smiling welcome and a still open buffet with champagne on arrival. What a good start! Opening our eyes next morning to a blue, blue sky and beautiful sea view (from every angle). Breakfast was superb, cold meats, cereals, full English - you name it and fresh poached eggs which were never hard when broken into. Gently scrambled eggs - none of those that you had to slice to put on your plate. Dinner in the evening was just as good, themed nights, superb food - freshly cooked and replenished efficiently and on a regular basis. Wonderful, happy and well trained staff (special shout to Fredy - just for his fun and endless smile) gave a great Hola every time they saw you and they loved it when you made the effort to answer them back in their own language. Angela looked after our room which was spotless every day with clean towels and new bedding - she was just the best! We only went on one Trip - the Tui Sunset Safari - had the most scarey off road experience, driven by Paco who was just crazy - we stopped off to feed some wild goats who knew him so well that they appeared from nowhere just hearing his voice. Best points for us were that being adults only, the hotel was quiet and peaceful - no entertainments team bothering you every day to join them - a schedule of the days events were given to you at breakfast and then you chose for yourself which, if any, you wanted to do. Interesting escorted walks to the beach at Jandia and the lighthouse; language lessons; postcard making; origami; photograph tips; candlelight yoga; Pilates; relaxation and stretching classes - so much on offer as well as the usual pool aerobics which was quietly going on at one end of the pool without bothering other guests. All inclusive was not on offer at this hotel and drinks were a little expensive (depending on what you had) but this meant that even the pool bar didn't have 'bar flies' sitting around drinking all day. The Sangria made by Hoover was to die for in La Piazzetta Chill Out Bar - after a hard day by the pool, it was a wonderful start to the evening before showering and changing for the evening. Word of advice: this Hotel does uphold their dress code throughout - long trousers for men in the restaurant. We have found this to be relaxed a little in so many hotels we have visited prior to this Sensimar but here we saw them uphold the Standards expected by the owner. This added up to our most relaxing, peaceful and happy holiday in recent years. If you like peace and quiet with very little to do in the evening (Jandia centre was some distance away but could be accessed by taxi) then you ill enjoy this. We got everything we expected and a bit more from our holiday - we well recommend it and will return!

We came last May and really enjoyed our stay' However we are here in our second week .the English breakfast is overcooked and tasteless,The evening meals are good. The sunbeds around the lower pool are too close together so for the rest of our stay we have hired the Balanese sunbed at a cost of 40 euros a day. . very obnoxious man at the reception Bar he was the same last year as well, We have already booked for Christmas and next May. Probably the last time, Not as good as last year!!! In The Restaurant they are not using all the tables which causes a backlog of people waiting for tables. On this years stay I could not recommend staying here...Hopefully our Christmas stay will be better .The rooms are kept spotless. Sorry to be so negative
