Ranked #8 of 14 Hotels in Playa de Jandia
Reviewed October 5, 2013

There were 4 of us in our party (females 50+) who wanted a comfortable hotel, good food and high standards. This we found in this hotel.
The division between the adults and families section was clear and most of the time adhered to...However,.I do wonder what it would be like when lots of families are in the hotel.
We stayed at end of September when there were very few babies/children .....and most of those under 5 years.
It is true that the majority of the guests are German, this I like as they insist on high standards. We did not find us being Englsih a drawback and found staff to be willing and pleasant. Perhaps it's the way one treats them. I would agree that the bars are understaffed as times.
The quality and choice of food was excellent......better than I have seen for a long time. Sometimes I wonder what people expect, We are not in England! The wine was acceptable as were the cocktails and we had no issues with the all inclusive package.(silver, adults section)>
It is true tthat the pool areas were crowded at times......and the place could certainly do with some umbrellas(perhaps it is too windy a lot of the time.)
None the less we found shade and din't have to get up at dawn to do so......we loved the adults relax pool with its constant supply of water, orange juice, cava and nuts/crisps.
Rooms were great, beds hard but comfy/.....
Entertainment shows were surprisingly good for where we were......but if you want lots of night life do not go to the south of Fuerteventura.
As for people sayig it was not on the beach what do they want? true you had to walk dowwn a slope to the most fabulous beach, where you could walk for miles. Read the brochure before you book.
This hotel was well run, we all had a great , relaxing holiday and would not hesitate to return, but not in school holidays.

Room Tip: In adult section blocks 8 and 9 have sea views. All Rooms on ground floor have little terraces with t...

My fiancé and I stayed here for 11 nights from 14th-25th September. We spent quite a bit on this holiday so we expected it to be good! But when we arrived it was absolutely amazing, very relaxing! Always sun beds available, very clean, amazing food! We also visited La Choza (a la carte) for 4 course meal one night because we had silver bands (adults only), which was equally amazing! Pool is lovely, always things going on, beautiful rooms. Be wary of the units of alcohol though, one unit is more like 3/4 in the uk! Very much vodka topped up with coke!

Would definitely return, and already planning to come back in a couple of years, really was brilliant!

after reading a few mixed reviews on this hotel we were a litlle apprehensive to say the least we stayed for one week from 25th september booked through thompsons on line. we booked our seats although we were limited to where we sat we had good seats on the new dreamliner which i must say was so much better and more comfortable and made beginning of holiday feel a little less stressfull.
on arriving at resort the transfer was painless although a little long at 90 minutes, on arriving at hotel we were greeted with a glass of sparkly and a quick efficient check in as we had booked adult we got a silver band and they were opening the restaurant for us cos we arrived late there was a few choices and was hot,,,, good start.
the room was lovely and if i,m being picky we had a ground floor with not much view but all thesame it was clean and comfy.
During the week the food was good and we never found a problem with choice or quality breakfast were excellent and the staff worked very hard and seemed to be everywhere from restraunt to bars to waiting on and they were all very polite the cleaning staff that looked after our room were really sweet.
more often than not you had to queue at bars but they did try there best and drinks were good although they were local and you have to pay after the all inclusive ends at 11, we used to go to coco loco which serves till one and has a really good atmosphere.
The pools and areas were fantastic the adult area pools were lovely a little cold at times but it was sometimes needed as it got very hot. the zen pool was so relaxing the swim up bar was lovely most days but sometimes the sun, free alchohol and certain nations made it rather uncomfortable but we just went to another pool that day.
the nudist area looked just as nice we didnt partake but there were plenty of guests who said it was lovely.
the beaches are lovely stretch for miles although beware there are lots of nudists and they dont seem to mind strolling along the beach.....
We got a taxi into town a couple of times (9 euros) each way the beach was lovely the town was ok lots of very very expensive shops or lots of tatt shops and nothing in between we went into the next resort which was more spanish but not a lot of shops but the beaches are lovely and the squirrels along the promenade were really friendly and tame.
entertainmnt team were ok they tried there best but not everyones taste.
all in all we had an amazing holiday fantastic views, fantastic food, People finding fault with most things saying that this wasnt a five star hotel well i would like to see where they have stayed previously as i think this more than deserves the rating and would love to go back next year but for longer next time.

Room Tip: ask for block eight and not a ground floor. its well worthbooking the adult section if only for the...

We stayed for 2 weeks mid September 2013, we were very exited to be going back to this stunning island. Very much enjoyed our visit last year, the resort we stayed at last year was far superior to this one and was only a 10 minute transfer from the airport.

Transfer time to Club Jandia is just over 1 hour on the coach. We considered getting a taxi on our departure but this will set you back aroun 90 euros, so got on the coach.

I've given it an average on location. My girlfriend and i were all in, so we didnt envisage leaving the resort anyway (only to visit the beach) There is a complex being built near the resort, which we were told will be a supermarket and shops. Otherwise, all that is near the resort is another resort. Its set in a very quiet bay area. Great if you want a quiet holiday.

Taxi to the main town in Jandia costs around 7 euros, dont expect any chage if you give the driver a 10 euro note though. i dont tip taxi drivers (they make enough money) when i gave our driver a 10 euro note and waited for 3 change he got the hump and gave me 1 euro back (rude)

On the subject of rudeness. We found staff at this hotel, especially staff working the many bars, very rude indeed. Always rolling their eyes, pretending not to understand English (lets face it English is like a second language in these places) Very unhelpfull. They only seemed to go out of their way and help certain nationalities. One group of nationalities seemed to have an almost telepaphic link with bar staff, not even having to ask for what they wanted. Yet i used to leave the bar, on almost every occasion, feeling like an Amoeba and very frustrated. This shouldnt happen on holidays. I wont mention nationalities (see other reveiws) think Spanish bailout.
One thing this resort should bear in mind, is that the UK is an EU member state, UK taxpayers money helped bail out Spanish banks. It didnt all come from the other big EU member.

The resort is huge and on the side of a volcano. Lots of walking involved. We paid the extra money to stay on the adults only section. The only benifit of doing this was the more secluded sunbathing area we found. Yes, you get to eat in adult only areas in the canteen/restaurant but you still mingle with famillies when getting your food courses. The trousers rule all kinda falls apart when you see female guests in the canteen wearing hot pants and flip flops. Why does this rule only apply to gents?

Take my advice and go for the later breakfast at the snack bar. Great views over the sea while you eat. But, families can also use it for late breakfasting. This should be exclusive to adult only guests.

The main pools (familly area) are very nice, but beds are crammed around it. I dont want to sunbath, lying almost on top of other people. Major turn off. Unfortnuatly its the same for the adult only chill out pool. Too many beds! No shaded areas either.

Stand by for nudity in and around the well being complex (adult only) and the beach. Signage asks guests to cover up when leaving the nudist area. Most guests comply........ Guess which ones dont.

The grounds of the resort are quite stunning. Hats off to the grounds team, they are always cutting about working on something.

Top tip, if you are staying in the adult section, find the hot tubs, there is an area of grass the size of a footy field or 2. Perfect area if you prefer more secluded sunbathing. Free use of the Saunas and steam rooms was one nice touch, there are outdoor style showers to take a cold shower in.

Apart from the use of the saunas/steamrooms and the more secluded sunbathing i cant see where the extra money we paid to go adult went.

Food can get a bit samey, but the choice is varied and we found it to be good quality.

It was recommended to us, by another British couple, to try the Honey Rum. I'm now a big fan, and this is probably the only drink on the all in menu that is going to work. Mind you, i did start to enjoy the local beer in week 2

All in all, this place has a few plus points, but too many negative.

Weather for the first week of our stay was rubbish, slight showers. We seemed to be doing more cloud bathing than sunbathing. Very windy (but i like the wind......when it's sunny!)

Another plus note. Room was fantastic, very spacious, good air com. Big, clean bathroom, cleaned daily.

We would not visit again. as i said. There are way better, friendlier resorts in this price range on the island.

Room Tip: We emeailed the hotel a few weeks before arriving and asked for a room with a sea veiw. We got a roo...

We are reaching the end of a week in the Fuerteventura Princess. I have to report on an exceptionally good week.

The first thing that stands out is value for money. We booked through First Choice holidays and paid £650 for flights, transfers, accommodation, full board, free alcohol and evening entertainment. It is hard to understand how they could e making money. Probably reveals just how low the Spanish economy has fallen. The clientele were 60% German, revealing the strength of their economy, and about 30% Brits. The German’s like to get naked which is a novelty for the Brits, but both seem to enjoy the alcohol based life style although conversation is a little hard.

The hotel itself is fabulous, nay spectacular. The first prize should really go to the architect. The hotel is built into the slopes of a small mountain, and terraced down to the beach. With the main reception n and eating areas at the top of the hill. This gives some spectacular views. The pools are enormous and spectacular and range from 4 cms to 1.5 m deep.

The rooms are basic but comfortable and very clean. The cleaning staff should get a medal. There was a slight smell from the drains which we learned to love over time. There was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room which was a shame. It is good to sit on the balcony and watch the sun go down.

The staff work like Trojans. I didn’t get chance to meet the hotel manager but he should be delighted indeed with the team that he has.

The hotel is enormous. I am guessing maybe 1000 people where there. Food is buffet style and is extraordinarily good. The choice is vast and the quality among the very best. So good I marvel at how they managed such quality and such volume. The coffee needs some work. I would have been happy to pay more for a good Costa Coffee.

Only one slight niggle. The hotel is remote. In the south of the island in an area entirely dedicated to tourism. Like an enormous Disney. There is nothing within walking distance and one quickly becomes institutionalised, each day merges into the next and souvenirs and memories are more of people than adventures. I forgot to bring a driving license. A car hire to tour the island one day would have broken the routine, although Fuerteventura has little to offer by way of history or culture - although much more than Disney!! - as it has really developed on the back of tourism.

There is entertainment every evening. It is of the AmDram nature; mostly young wannabees singing and dancing, built all working hard, doing their very best, trying to entertain and so all the more fun for that. It is not Vegas though but nonetheless we went to every show and enjoyed them all.

Thoughts on how to make it even better:

Tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms

A sports bar with large screen TV

It would have been good to have had a little more to do during the day although I can’t think what. The day time entertainment was a little disorganised I thin probably down to the size of the pace which makes structure and communication more important. That said we were usually so stuffed with good food that anything energetic was not appealing.

Went from the 18th to 25th September, the hotel was amazing kept in perfect condition! We were on the family section and didn't really see the difference in the adult only area as people we spoke to it was a waste of time. We were in room 4130 and the view was simply amazing of the beech! The food was nice and I was easily doing 3 courses each meal, plenty of choice and I'm a fussy eater! The beech is a two minute walk away and was beautiful!! Just be careful as there's a quite a few nudists so don't be surprised! The staff are friendly and helpful and the entertainment was pretty good! All in all I would go back and wouldn't question it!!
