We stayed here for a week from the 6th of June and absolutely loved it! I'd emailed the hotel a week before we went to request a low level room as I have a dodgy knee and was dreading all of the steps I'd seen mentioned in other reviews; we were allocated a room on the second row back from the front, this was perfect. The room was modern, bright and spotlessly clean; it had twin beds in the bedroom with a small flat screen TV and a further 2 beds in the living area, a small fridge and a kettle. The main pool was fantastic with a narrow shallow section in front of the rooms and a larger, deeper area nearer the pool bar. Elli behind the pool bar was a total joy; she was extremely polite and always had a smile on her face. The restaurant was large and modern and had a really good choice of food on offer; my partner is a fussy eater but he always found something. There were a couple of themed nights whilst we were there, Mexican and Greek and I think one night was Italian. I found that the food was always hot and the trays were replenished regularly. There was always something on the go on the grill at the bottom, usually meat and fish; sometimes you had to wait a while for it to be ready and at one point there was a queue of people waiting for the fish and the chef transferred the cooked fish onto the tray for everyone to help themselves and the woman at the front of the queue proceeded to take every last piece!! We found the restaurant staff to be very polite and helpful, especially Giannis; he was a total sweetheart. We went over to the Carda Beach for a massage one morning and used the gym and indoor pool, it was lovely and well worth the 39 Euro. My partner went parasailing from the little kiosk on the beach and said that it was brilliant and it was only 40 Euro. On our last day we weren't due to leave the hotel until after 11pm and asked if we could keep the room on; we paid 25 Euro to keep the room on until 6pm, it was totally worth it. We had a great holiday and I would go there again. The only low point of the holiday was the airport; it's so tiny we had to queue up outside and they let us in a few at a time to check in as there isn't room for everyone in there at one time. You have to queue to check in and get your boarding pass and then queue again to have your suitcase scanned; I found this a bit strange and very frustrating.

Room Tip: Lots of steps to the higher rooms, so request one lower down if you have mobility issues.

Just got back from a week at Mikri poli 5* resort......
Had a family room, was nice and clean, reception staff were pleasant also the entertainment younger staff were very friendly.
We went all inclusive, some of the restaurant staff were pleasant others were rude and wouldn't give you the time of day even though you are the customer.....they were more attentive to the Germans more so the English......
The food was nice , lots of different dishes to choose from.
The resort is very well maintained and clean. The beach is not much as it is VERY rocky.....
The resort caters more for families not the ideal place if your a couple who wants piece and quite as the are a lot of families there. Also the is a lot of stairs and slopes to be contending with.
My overall view is i wouldnt stay there again.

Just returned from 1 week and we all loved it. Our party consisted of 2 families with kids ranging from 11 to 17 - there was plenty for them to do, mostly around the pool, whilst adults could chill out and enjoy the fabulous sea view from the sun loungers around the pool.
There was always a good choice of food that pleased everyone, with varying tastes, although it was a pity the pool restaurant wasn't open as it would have been nice to eat somewhere different to the main restaurant 3 times a day.
The rooms were ideal for families, although if mobility is an issue this may not be the place for you - there were 82 steps from the pool to our room. Burnt off a few of the extra calories due to the delicious ice cream though!
The animation staff were excellent - all but one were doing their first stint and had only been there a week. They were really friendly, energetic and fun. Thanks to the team - Stefano, Corinne, Lorenzo, Claudio and Katherina for entertaining us so well!

Room Tip: Ask for rooms near the pool area if you don't fancy the steps

I went to the Mikri Poli on the 26th May through to the 2nd June. We didn't bother with transfers from the airport as the hotel is so close - 10 minute journey ride and is a standard 18 euros. You can't haggle with the taxi drivers, the island has standard taxi fare prices.
Our flight was delayed so we arrived at the hotel around 02.45am. Check in was swift and we were given a map of where our room was but it was pitch black, they could probably do with more lighting at the back of the hotel.
We were in room 1536 and there were around 25 steps leading to the room - definately kept me fit! If you do suffer with walking difficulties though, I would recommend contacting the hotel and requesting a lower floor room. The room was spacious, big and modern. Very clean. There were bottles of water available for use but they aren't topped up. Good hairdryer but only soap as amenities! Flat screen TV and tea/coffee facilities but we didn't use these. The room was spotless and the maids did a fantastic job of cleaning it. Our view was breath taking. We soon the pool, then beyond that was the sea and we could see the islands in the distance - perfect!
Breakfast was ok, plenty on offer. Pancakes with nutella, yum yum! The resturante is big and if you sit at the back, you get lovely views of the sea. Very well designed. Lunch was good, fresh salad and always some sort of meat being cooked fresh, same for dinner. I didn't struggle to eat any time of day. There was another resturante underneath this open but it wasn't open yet and I guess this is where you'd get the snacks of pizza, burger, chips etc in the height of the season? Only guessing though. Snacks were limited throughout the day and I feel as an allinclusive hotel the snacks should be better for the star grading. No issues with the drinks but charging for cocktails is abit tight when you can order all the ingredients separately and make the cocktail yourself! You can help yourself to drinks in the resturante too which is good as you don't have to wait for the waiters. There's even sambuca included which caused me many hangovers.....
The location of the hotel is superb. 10/15 minutes walk from the resort but the paths aren't the best and its quite dark at night. The resort is an 18-30 resort as there's lots of bars/clubs and lots of young brits working out there trying to pull you into their respective pub/bar but we just carried on walking through! Lots of closed down shops though and there is the distinct impression that Kos is suffering through whats happened to them in the Euro. The local workers were also telling us how quiet the season has started off too.
The staff in the hotel are wonderful. Lovely lady called Ellie at the pool bar and the receptionist with bright red hair, very helpful and awesome English! The staff are presented well, very polite and very attentive - fanastic plus for the hotel. The animation team are harmless enough but the 1 night show we saw was lame and just not funny and not good taste. The team will come around and talk to you in the nights by the indoor bar but they can't hold a conversation and you find yourself doing alot of the talking otherwise be silence!
There's an even spread of nationalities in the hotel and the reviews saying its full of Germans is rubbish. I think there were more English people in the hotel than anything else.
Lovely pool which is very cold but alot of sun loungers!
Overall, a relaxing enjoyable holiday but not quite 5*! Would definately go again and we only paid £590 for the 2 of us for the week, BARGIN!!
Tip, if you're catching the bus to Kos Town, you need to go into the resort by Lous supermarket and go around the corner and you'll see the bus stop about 10-15 metres down the road. We spent about 20 minutes trying to find it....:-)

Room Tip: If you have problems with steps then request a lower floor room!

just returned from a weeks holiday at the mikri poli resort in kos , on arrival check in very quick, cases were taken straight to room as it was 10.30 when we arrived there all meals had finished but a plate of food was waiting for us. got to our room it was spotless couldnt fault it in any way maid service very good and tuesdays is their day off, what it was lacking was enertainment at night we had one show all week, you can walk into the village in about 10/15 mins but walking back when dark footpaths very un-even so mind your footing.there are two separate swimming pools and sunloungers for children which is good ,plenty of lounger around the big pool which has bar on terrace. soft drinks has got a tang to them all but we bought are mixers in the hotel shop.food very good and plenty of it for all choices.you have to vacate your room by 12 midday and most flights out there is late night ones and we all found we could not keep our room on , so the only place you can shower is 2 showers in the toilets down stairs and not very good as every thing get wet as no where to put you clothes.all staff very helpfull and polite, carda hotel next door is adult only they can use poli hotel but you cant use carda hotel only for there spa, the higher up your room the more steps you got we were in room 1158 so lots of steps to climb in the heat. no toileties left in room but you do get kettle and just 2 tea bags and 2 coffees so make sure you take your own, also 1 bottle of water per stay but you can take empty bottle to be refilled at the pool bar .it cost 20 euros for 2 beach towel but you get that returned at the end of your holiday, it was va lovely relaxing holiday and enjoyed it but like i said lack of entertainment at night.

Room Tip: all rooms see veiw so if you dont want about 80 steps to climb request a lower floor. our room had 4...

Just returned from a lovely holiday at the mikri polis, hotel is in a good location about a 10 mins walk to the center of town, and only 5 mins to the nearest restaurant. Beach is just across the road plenty of sun beds on it its, if you want to go in the sea it would be wise to get some of them swimming shoes as there are a lot of rocks in the water. Pool is large with a good amount of sun beds, Pool bar was fine, Hotel was very clean in general. Room was clean with plenty of storage & a nice balcony we had a sea view as most rooms had. All the staff was very helpful. The only down side for us was the food it was just luke warm most of the time, breakfast was the best meal for me plenty of tea, fried eggs what was cooked on the hot plate while you wait so they was hot so it was eggs on toast every day for me.The snacks was toasted sarnies & a few cakes not a lot to chose from. We only had two dinners at the hotel ate out for the rest of the week some nice restaurants in town. Evening entertainment only started the day before we left so we can't comment. All in all a very good holiday prob would return to the hotel if we got it at the price we payed as it was a cheap holiday.
