I stayed in these apartments along with my sister on the 12th Sep 2013 for 7 days. They are situated in a quiet area but only 5 mins to the beach, shops and restaurants. The apartments are basic but clean. The rooms with balconies are situated around a lovely courtyard with trees and shrubs. The owners and staff couldn't do enough for you when you asked for help. The pool area is next to the bar where you can buy decent cooked food or drinks. The rooms are so quaint. They have a kettle, toaster and a 2 ringed cooker if you wanted to cook, we never did. Theres plenty crockery etc, also a hairdryer. Everything you need for a selfcatering holiday. The local supermarket is 5 mins walk and taxies.

Room Tip: Were in 255, I would request a room with a balcony in the courtyard, as there is a few rooms at the...

The hotel is in the heart of Kardamena with a lovely courtyard full of flowers and trees. We stayed on the ground floor and our room had a small hidden garden with a fig tree which i love the smell of it. The decoration of the common areas were very nice as well as the room. In general we loved Kos, staying in the middle of the island gave us the advantage to plan our visit easily as west and east. One day we visited Kefalos and the other day Pili and at the end we have discovered the center and Asklepieion. And the most important thing is the sea is very warm and smooth in Kardamena unlike the north seasides. We were very happy being in Kardamena and very satisfied about the hotel, and thanks to Danny and Kostas for their hospitality and of course to Tricky just for his existence.

Just returned from a 10 night stay at Nissia Kamares. The reason for the stay being to attend our friends wedding in Kardamena.Several of the wedding party including the bride and groom were staying at Nissia. It was my first stay in Kardamena and I couldnt have stayed at a nicer place. The apartments were of a very high standard, spotlessly clean and well equipped, much better then most self catering places I have stayed in previously in Greece. They are set in beautiful flower filled grounds which lead into a bar and swimming pool area.A lovely pool area with lots of sunbeds and shady areas to sit and have a drink or something to eat.All the staff are very friendly and helpful.Natalie produces lovely snacks and meals, her and her husband did the catering for the wedding and we all enjoyed a fantastic barbeque served to us under the stars by the pool.A very magical evening!! Danny is an excellent barman, always ready with a smile and willing to chat.Every member of staff deserves a mention for making Nissia a very special place. The apartments are ideally placed with just a short walk to the beach, shops and bars.Would not hesitate to return to Nissia and a big thank you to everyone......finally if you go into town the best bar is Stone Roses and the Loustros restaurant is excellent

Room Tip: apartment 256 was very comfortable and in a lovely spot

A lovely family run hotel in Kardamena with all amenities. Situated near the town centre and close to the beach. I can recommend the weekly BBQ with potatoes and salad, really tasty meat. Lovely staff. Excellent in every way. However, there are strict rules regarding noise after 11 pm. This due to families with toddlers staying at the hotel. Nissy Kamares and Kardamena was a lovely experience and a nice autumn treat. I´ll definitely be back!

Booked up to stay here in July 2013. Had previously stayed there in 2007 and so knew it was close to everything. Prior to arrival there was a problem with the booking and this was resolved with great help from the hotel.

When we arrived it was night and Danny was there to help us to our room. It was all very friendly at this point and we were expecting a nice uneventful stay.

This changed on around the mid-point of the holiday when Kostas came to our door one morning with several unfounded allegations regarding noise. He claimed we were playing very loud music at 11pm the previous night when in fact we weren't even in the room at that point. When we said this to him he then suddenly added in that it was also the night before. Again we told him we were not in this room at this point. He clearly didn't believe us and kept making reference to the fact he thought we were there to "party" but we had to be considerate to other guests. The way he tried to speak to us it was like teacher lecturing a pupil. We would have said something back but were really unsure how he'd react.

We were not there to "party" as he put it. We were 4 young professionals, with well paid jobs, on a holiday for some sun, relaxation and yes some drinks, but not for a wild, hotel wrecking party. We were not 18 year old students wanting a club 18-30 holiday. If we were we would have booked that! From this point in the holiday we were made to feel like outcasts so much so that we considered leaving the hotel to book in somewhere else. At one point we were all sitting at the bar and Kostas walked right around us, spoke to Danny, then back around with not even an acknowledgement.

I am not one for complaining about hotels but the way we were treated here from mid way through our holiday was shocking. This worst part though was when we went to pay on the last day to be told we were too late and it had already been taken from my card. I was told this was part of the agreement I had signed on the first night. At no point was I told that this would happen and suddenly I found myself with 650 Euros being taken from my account. They had absolutely no authority to do this and their reason was "in case there was a power cut and the card machine didn't work". At this point I simply wanted to be anywhere else but here.

The good points were the pool bar where Danny worked. He was fantastic and was extremely chatty and friendly and couldn't fault him.

Put simply though we were made to feel unwanted here for absolutely no reason other than Kostas thought we were a group of rowdy, young Brits when it really couldn't be further from the truth. We made no noise and left constant tips to both Danny and the maids.

If it wasn't for the central location and Danny at the bar then I would be giving this a 1 or 2 review.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us for a second time. By reading your post, it is more than obvious that my behavior on handling some occurring issues has upset you and your party.
I would like to apologize for this, although I believe that I have to say my side of the story. Thankfully and most importantly regarding the hotel, you and your party were pleased.
I find it hard to believe that your holidays at our hotel, can be what is more or less described as “ruined” simply because of a remark for noise disturbance, especially when this is done in a polite and well respected manner.
I must stress that as far as noise is concerned, I take some action only when I get complains from other guests or have the night guard’s report every morning. Obviously there are no prejudices or other reasons beyond the respect of all our guests.
I honestly dislike acting as an investigator in these cases, so going into details regarding the exact time of disturbance, the volume of music or how loud someone is when arriving back in the room etc is pointless. I had complaints regarding your room by other guests as well as the night’s guard report and these were enough to knock on your door and give a warning.
I must point out that it is my responsibility to make sure that all guests enjoy a good night sleep. Our hotel has the reputation of being peaceful and relaxed and we put a lot of effort in preserving this atmosphere of serenity.
Regarding the acknowledgment this was not intentional and I am really sorry if you got that impression, but I feel that the word “shocking” for your treatment, is just too strong for a missed hello.
Finally the payment procedure: Everyone when checking in fills in a form with all needed information. The last section says in bold letters:

“Please note that we do not operate a 24-hour reception, so we kindly ask you to settle your payment at least one day prior to your departure. Please note that if you miss to settle your bill in this time period we will proceed with your credit card charge”
This is because in the past where the payment was left at the last minute we occasionally could not proceed with the charge due to unexpected reasons such as power cuts, card rejections etc, causing great inconvenience both to us and the guests who were in a hurry to catch their flights.
You mention that you “found yourself with 650 Euros being taken from your account” which sounds like we overcharged you. I would like to put things right by saying that, 650 Euro were charged on your credit card according to the payment policy and was the exact equivalent for your stay at our hotel.
I do hope that my reply has somehow contributed to reveal my point of view and that you will trust your holiday again with us in the future.

Kind regards
Kostas Sourmelis

We spent only one night in Kardamena, but this hotel was really good and comfortable. The room was big and with a full-equipped kitchen, really nice courtyard and nice staff. Almost all room have terrace.
Unfortunately, we had no time to use swimming pool and take some time for rest in the really relaxing swimming pool area.
