Most of what one can say about this hotel has already been written. It is attractive, quaint, clean, quiet, friendly and convenient. Lovely grounds and pool area. The only small negative is that not all the balconies /terraces are very private and because of its convenient position there are no 'views' except possibly from upper floors. We would stay there again if we were to go back to Kardamena, lots of bars with of loud music but there are quieter bars should you prefer them. Plenty of restaurants to choose from, most of a similar quality. Pelagos was exceptional and the best we used. Plenty to see and do on the various trips available, Kos Town attractive and interesting, Nisyros island quaint and the volcano caldera impressive.

Stayed here for a week during August and was very impressed. Overcome with the beauty of the resort and apartments; gorgeous trees and flowers in the courtyard and around the pool area. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful; not to mention their lovely dog, Tricky who sits in the reception area and enjoys lots of attention from the guests. The rooms were basic, like almost all accommodation in Greece, but clean and spacious enough. The maids came every day during the week, changing the towels and beddings each time. Quite a surprisingly large pool for the amount of apartments; very clean. The poolside bar was good, serving snacks and drinks at reasonable prices: e.g large plate of cheesy chips with bacon for only $3.50.
The only room for improvement in our opinion would be to improve the air con (we paid $40 for a week) and only worked when you were in the room, so you had to wait quite a while for the room to cool down to a comfortable temperature. Also, our room had two single beds (as is the case in most of Greece, I understand), but they were situated at opposite sides of the room, attached to the wall, so we couldn't even push them together. For a young couple on our first holiday away together we found this a little disappointing, but it wasn't the end of the world.
Overall, a beautiful set of apartments with fantastic staff. We definitely recommend it to anyone travelling to Kos.

Booked through Coop/Flexitrips;
On the first day's stay at the Nissia, someone said to me i'd arrived 'at an Oasis'. In many respects this was very true....
The entrance to the hotel is situated in a residential side street, just off the main road into Kardamena and is literally a couple of minutes from the Main Square, the Harbour and the beach. Two large enterance doors are flanked by a couple of apartments either side, framed in pink Bourganvilla. These apartments have larger communal patio/seating areas outside. One of these was our room [161] and we quite liked this aspect.
What struck me was the design of the complex and the attention to detail. The doors and windows were all traditional Greek design, styled in wood with opening glass inserts and decorative scrolled ironwork. The windows were shuttered to keep rooms cool, again in traditional design -the like of which I had not seen since staying in Skiathos Town last year.
Through the large entrance doorways to what was possibly the old reception area were two rooms decorated in a sea/maritime theme. These contained your hotel and holiday info, books to lend etc and a comfortable seating area, opening out to a cobblestoned courtyard and the main groups of apartments.
The Courtyard itself was full of palms, flowers and climbing jasmin, with rooms darting off in all directions. Some up whitewashed steps, others nestled in corners or facing the the main courtyard - all whitewashed with shuttered windows and their own little balcolnies with tables and chairs. It was like a mini Greek village. The first Courtyard leads you under twin archways to a second similar set up, then onto the pool area.
The Pool bar on the right has a fairly large seating area, partially covered, with a pool table, wifi/computor facilities, games for the kids, tv etc etc. The pool area has plenty of beds, umbrellas and sunbathing areas, dotted with palm trees and a bourganvillia clad purgerla at one end for extra shade.[it was 36d when we were there] Non of the apartments overlook the Pool or Pool Bar, so theres no noise. -If you have'nt guessed already, I was quite taken with the hotel design -its one of the prettiest accomodations you'll ever stay in...
The rooms are clean an spacious, decorated in pastel shades and dotted with pictures. Theres a dining area and small kitchenette with every facility. Rooms are cleaned everyday except Sunday. Aircon and a Safe were 70e for 2 weeks -very reasonable as we paid 110e elseware last year. Checkout is at 11am and theres a courtesy room behind the hotel office with safety deposit boxes, washing/changing facilities and a place to store cases for that late flight - all free.

Staff at the Nissia are excellent and work very hard, from the 3 cleaning ladies to Natalie, who runs the Pool Bar. Quite an extensive menu for pool bars as they go and very well priced, from full breakfasts to burgers, rolls, salads and a full range of drinks. Natalie is very helpful and knowledgable about the island- a pleasure to meet.If you get the chance to join in a bbq on a Friday night, make sure you do as the foods' outstanding! Sotos runs the bar from 5pm onwards and stays until the last person's left. He'll also check you in and show you to your rooms.Very nice guy and try his Mojito cocktail -in fact any of his cocktails- really rather good.
Then theres Tricky, the hotel dog. Carlsberg don't do dogs, but if they did.....
Dougie -the Hotels for U rep can be found in the Pool Bar [having lunch] most days at about 1pm. He's very knowledgable and helpful when booking trips - of which there are loads. You can use Ticket Travel -down to the beach and over the Bridge, for trips, as these pick up at the Nissia, right outside the 'Pool Gate' at the back of the pool area. A day trip to Turkey costs 25e with the tax - but theres loads of little excursions you can go on costing 10e or thereabouts. Again, if you book with Ticket Travel, you can have drink at the bar in the Nissia while you wait for your coach !
The whole experience at the Nissia for me was that nothing was too much trouble. Every request was dealt with - you need only ask. Its well run and has great staff. Everyone will enjoy it.
Kardamena itself can be very lively at certain times of the year, usually July or thereabouts, with a great many 'young people' as the locals describe them. Most of these stay at the concrete metropolis' further along the resort, the attraction being the club scene and Bar Street in the centre of town. A few find their way into this hotel. Most are well behaved and therefore welcome. If your a parent and reading this, wondering where to send your little Ruby, Gemma, Oscar or Josh to 'relax after their exams' - then please be aware that this hotel's owner will have NO HESITATION in expelling them should they play up and disturb other guests -first day or not -he has a lovely hotel, an oasis, an he'll keep it that way...
Kostas -respect... best to everyone....

Room Tip: any - no noise experienced from front rooms

second time staying at this hotel and was honestly the best hotel i've ever stayed in. although it isn't massively luxuriousness, you get the price you pay for. the staff are so friendly and we had such a good time with them! Natalie during the day will bend over backwards for you and even made up sandwiches for the airport for us :) Soto as well on the night had us in stitches! Couldn't recommended this hotel enough!

We arrived one week ago at Nissia Kamares in the evening - as the manager was not around at that time the barman welcomed usshowing the room and sharing a long list of tips and tricks on places where to go and where to eat. The room is very nice , clean, fresh (free airconditioning), and with Greek ambiance (but very modern). The place is very calm, as even if there are numerous rooms the inner court leaves them somehow apart and people are respectful of other quiet (some of them with the manager incouragement). We met the manager Kostas the next morning; very kind and helpful: one day he called a restaurant to know if they had a typical dish for us to taste, another day he offered us to help to get some eye drops for our daughter (she always gets red eyes with wind and sand).
The hotel is conveniently located to reach both Kos and Kefalos on the two opposites of the island (lovely paces to visit), and walking distance to all the tavernas in Kardamena; even if close to the airport (<10km) we never hear planes.
The wind has turned out very strong in the last days, and while this is a pain on the sandy beaches, we can still sun bath at the hotel swimming pool, with some drinks from the bar.
Luckily, we still have 1 week before going back ;-)

we stayed here after reading reviews on it and we were not disappointed! it was even nicer than we had imagined! the hotel is so beautiful, and very peaceful - yet it is literally a 3 minute walk to bar street and the restaurants on the harbor front. the pool is so relaxing and always had enough sun loungers so it wasnt over crowded. natalie who looks after the bar through the day was amazing, she was always there and worked so hard. the food was brilliant - recommend the nissia roll for the perfect hangover cure!! also have a little dog tricky who hangs round reception... such a cute little dog! would definately stay here again if was to go back to kardamena

Stayed here with 5 girl friends at the end of June to the beginning of July, was apprehensive about the place as a whole just because we'd had a fabulous holiday the year before in Kavos.

But the hotel was lovely and we had 2 rooms sharing the same veranda right on the front, so we could easily get back to the hotel not having to worry too much about waking everyone as we didn't have to pass anyone when we came in late.

Pool area was nice, easy to get sunbeds at first but about half way between our holiday it seemed to get a lot busier and sunbeds started filling up quicker.

Food was lovely, many thanks to Nat for our great breakfasts and lunches. Club sandwiches are so good. Staff are friendly :) and trickyyyyyyy the dog is like the cutest thing ever.

Location was good too, nearby to bar street with good bars and such nice prs :) literally love them all down there, i actually felt bad for not going in their bars cos i loved them all :P but the bands is a top bar to go in (i personally don't even like indie / rock music but some friends i was with did) and i wanted to go back for the drinks (SKITTLE BOMB) and the people in there. And less than a 5 minute walk to Louissss' supermarket, great place. & deffo go in Rio's for 2.50 kebab, soooo good.

Waterpark is okay, not much there but we paid for it in a package with other activities so it was a good deal for us :) and tbh you can make it a good day out, it's not far on the bus (about 20 minutes) - but paradise beach is a nice day out (40 minutes on the bus) and the watersports are a bit cheaper than the ones at the Kardamena beach.

Fab holiday, would deffo go back to Kardamena and Nissia :) xxxx
