We have just returned from a family holiday at the Norida Beach Hotel Resort and prior to going I like most people checked out the reviews about the resort and did wonder whether we had made the right choice, but on arrival and the welcome we received my concerns were largely put to rest.
We arrived at 10pm and booked in, the reception staff were very pleasant and check in was a breeze, they even said we could use the restaurant for dinner even though it should have closed an hour before.
We were given room 303 and reading past reviews about rooms beginning with 3 was a bit sceptical, but the room although up a relatively steep hill was very clean with working air con, tv, fridge with drinks and a good view from the balcony over the sea and islands.
The room was cleaned everyday and clean bedding and towels supplied and the drinks in the fridge were changed every other day,
The food in the restaurant was very good, varied and hot and the staff were always polite and friendly especially Vivi who always remembered you and had time for a chat.
The evening entertainment was good and if you didn't want to join in or just wanted a more peaceful evening the Adult bar was a delight and Eduard was a star.
The pools were clean, we mainly used the freshwater pool with the waterslides as it was closer to our room and a great sun trap and the pool bar was handy.
The beach was more shingle than sand but not a problem, the sea was crystal clear and very warm and the fact that you could see the fish swimming around your feet was great fun, try offering them some bread just below the surface and they go nuts. The beach bar was great with more variety of food and drinks. We used the hotel beach towels at 5 euro per towel and you change them every 2nd day and at the end of your stay your money is refunded to you, nice and easy.
The free bus ride into Kardamena was useful although the town itself is a bit neglected but if you want your duty frees then Louis Supermarket is probably the best place but prices are high if you need to top up on toiletries or sun cream.
All in all a relaxing holiday and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
Just a word of warning the hotel is full of Germans and Russians, the latter being rude, pushy and walk around like they own the place, just be extra nice to them, they hate that.

My fiance and I first visited this hotel in June 2011 in order to the check out the accomodation for 27 of our friends and family who were coming to stay in the following September for our wedding. in June we were given a room out of the hotel and up the hill near to the Summer Palace, however, we did not find this a problem. The sea view was beautiful, the room clean and pleasant the walk up and down the hill was great exercise considering all the wonderfull food on offer in the restaurants and we were given a black wrist band which meant we could use the facilities in the Norida Beach and the Summer Palace. Due to a couple of our guests being in their 60's and 70's, my h2b went and introduced himself to the Manager, Dionissis, who was wonderful and assured us that when we returned in September he would make sure that their rooms would be in the main hotel, he also offered for us to have our wedding there, however, we had already arranged a different location a little further down the coast. As promised, on our return in September, not just the oldies, but all our guests were given rooms in the main hotel and the hotel management and staff could not do enough for us. On the eve of our wedding, Dionissis arranged for our party of 27 to eat together at the greek restaurant which was a wonderful gesture and he also arranged transport for our guests to and from our actual wedding venue. In fact Dionissis and Lidia (Customer Relations) even spared some of their personal time to attend our wedding. We couldn't have been looked after any better and all our guests were impressed with everything.
The staff were really friendly and I would especially like to mention Vivi in the restaurant who always recognised you and made you feel special, Michaelas the waiter who taught us a different greek word at each meal, Hamzi from the Chinese Restaurant who was always happy and smiling, Lidia in customer relations who always sorted out any problems we had and of course Dionissis who is the most hands on hotel manager I have ever seen. He can often be seen showing people to their tables in the dining room, giving out fruit around the pool and generally buzzing around the hotel to make sure everything is running smoothly.
True, some of the hotel guests are rude and don't know the meaning of the word 'queue' but you have to realise that this is not a fault of the hotel. Bearing in mind that they have to cater for various nationalities, I think they do a tremendous job. None of our group would hesitate in going back to this hotel time and time again.
A great big thanks to everyone who helped our wedding to be a most memorable occasion.

Room Tip: If your unhappy, don't suffer in silence, just ask!!!

I've been to lot of countries, so the ones who knows Carribbean, South American or even Turkish hotels, please don't compare 5 stars there with Greek hotels. Norida is trying their best, really, and it's not bad at all. We booked hotel directly, so got fantastic rooms very close to the main building and fantastic sea view. Sea view is a must if you plan to stay in hotel for most of the time.
Reception: helpfull, but a bit sleepy :) Has a problem to explain beach towel changing system, it's not every second day as it's written in presentation, but on odd or even days, remember that, because girls are very upset to explain it every time. Great free bus service to reach Kardamena.
Rooms: spacious, super big bath tub, but no hanger for shower head, so it was a bit strange to wash with one hand. A bit of mold on walls. Mini bar was filled 6 times at 7 nights accommodation even if they declare they fill it every second day.
Housekeeping: very cleen, invisible cleaners, perfect.
Food&Beverages: Smart system of taking you to the table - no problems with free seats. Variety of food is really big, but we missed fish in sea country. Got very good one in Greek alacarte restaurant. Try Asian, impressive too. Bars: poorest service ever. Barmans are always look like doing a favour to you making a coctail, always worried of something, never smile. Exception - barman on the pool bar, sorry don't remmeber name, but he is professional one.
Animation: poor. Just poor.
Beach: small gravel, swimming shoes helped a lot, water is crystal clear, try to take some bread and see lots of fishes arround you. Didn't try to snorkel, but fishes close to coast are grey colour, not much interesting to see.
Traveling: we rented a car for one day - it's really enough to see all island, just have to make a smart plan, ask for a map and advise in rent-a-car offices. Also, we rented old buggy - that was reall fun!

Would love to come back to this hotel if it would be on much bigger island...

Room Tip: Sea view 980-981 ;)

We arrived at Mitsis Norida Beach Hotel at 5am following a delayed flight, not a particularly nice welcome from reception, we were shown up to our bungalow (room 381) we got our heads down only to wake up to the most beautiful sea view, however, it was marred by the dated decor and a dirty bathroom !! The bungalow was situated up a hill and was in urgent need of a refurb. We told reception we weren't happy and that we had paid extra for a duplex room (refurbed), it took 2 days of negotiation but eventually got the room we asked for (901), great room with great view 2 minute walk to beach. Pools were great, kids loved the slide pool which had a bar (always nice!), no struggle to get beds even in early afternoon !! Beach was ok, sea great for snorkelling/pedalo. Food was great, the main Resturant being buffet style, so much choice with the freshly stone baked pizzas being the pick !! Must mention the Resturant staff, the head of house lady always had a smile and remembered faces considering how many guests, very good at her job. Other Resturant staff were also very friendly and helpful, I wish the reception staff would take a leaf out of their book, they were poor to say the least. Bar staff were ok, a little blunt at times but no wonder having to deal with the rude RUSSIANS (no manners what so ever, walk around like they own the place), cleanliness was very good throughout the main hotel and pool areas. Wish they would reserve a room for late departures somewhere as we found ourselves (2 adults + 2 kids) showering in a small room just inside the gents toilets !! We felt like castoffs after 12noon ! All in all, good hotel, good food and service, poor reception staff, great location, but would not go back.
Try next door at Blue Domes, which is a newer more modern Mitsis Hotel (looked great).
