“Absolutely amazing!”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

We stayed here in May 2011, it was an amazing place, the food was beautiful, and always a rotation, we stayed for 2 weeks and only ever had the same meal twice!

The rooms were extremely clean and we were always being offered new towels and bed linen!

People who do not like to be secluded shouldn't go. But for us who wanted to relax in the resort it was perfect. There were excursions available in which we did 4!

Absolutely beautiful! We are even considering going back here for it honeymoon next august

Spent two weeks at this hotel in May 2013, and can only say that the most positive aspect of my stay was the staff - lovely waitresses, bartenders and sportsteam made my stay.

The hotel profiles itself as an exclusive, serene resort, but is more of a huge kindergarten. Kids are running amok all over! I realize it's up to the parents to keep track of their kids, but there's a point where enough it enough, and the hotel management have to step in - during my stay, a bunch of kids were running around the pools by the main bar, tripping all over people and causing the bartenders grief as they often ran into them (when they were carrying overfilled trays).
Kids and their parents take up all spaces by the pools - kids without diapers swim in adult pools, and the sunchairs are monopolized by inflatable toys, diaper bags and towels, as each family needs six or seven chairs each, even if they are only three people.

No bathrooms by the pools make me wonder where everybody goes, as most people spend all waken hours by the pools, barely moving other than between the sunchair and the actual pool (well, once you finally manage to get a sunchair, I suppose you wont give it up unless your life depends on it...)

The restaurants are amazing and the food is great - main buffé restaurant is slightly chaoitic due to guests that wander aimlessly and cut in line wherever there is one. The staff is doing their best to keep stollers out of the restaurant and keep a somewhat organized meal service, but there's only so much they can do!
The a la carte by the beach as far better organized (really good food, nice ambiance, excellent staff) - but I suppose when you have to make a reservation and get seated in a fairly empty restaurant, plus get served instead of having to fight your way to the buffé, most people calm down and pretend to be civilized.

The rooms are large and nicely decorated. Thick walls ensures calm and quiet. Balconies are also large and every single balcony has an ocean view, which is very nice.

The hotel is built in an uphill, so there's a lot of stairs or climing hills to and from the beach and the restaurants. Not suitable for those with weak knees or bad condition.

The hotel is beachfront with a very nice, sandy beach and excellent ocean access. Sunchairs get occupied very quickly, so make sure to get there early! There's a beach bar, and fairly close to bathrooms, so it's preferred over the jammed pool areas.

There's a bus (you buy tickets with the driver) that takes you to the nearby town, which offers a couple bars, restaurants and the usual touristic shopping. Worth a trip, unless you want to go crazy - besides tanning (if you get a chair) and relaxing (if you manage to mute the screaming children that are everywhere), there's very little to do here.

I have to recommend the hairdresser in the spa, though - her English is slightly lacking, but her friendly personality and excellent hairdressing skills weight it all up!

Main problem here is the hotel profiles itself as something it's really not - it has every chance of becomming a calm, serene, elegant resort, but as of now, it's nothing more than a polished kindergarten. The staff is lovely, and the best aspect of the trip.

Room Tip: The further away from the main pool areas, the calmer the rooms

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel in 2012 after my parents went there and absolutely loved it. We decided to go back in 2013 for 2 weeks as we enjoyed it so much, however the 2nd year was not as enjoyable. The first year we had booked with Thomas Cook but this time we booked with their connected company Flexitrips, part of Hotels 4 U, which I would advise people to never do as they were useless!!

We arrived at about 11 at night to be told by another family that they were being moved next door as the hotel was overbooked, I was worried but waited to see what reception would say. Unfortunately they did tell us that they were overbooked therefore we were being located in the Norida Beach hotel next door, definitely not a 5* no matter what it claims on its sign! We were not happy but had no choice as there was nowhere else we could go! So we had to go next door which was unbelievably slow at getting us to our room! Which was basic at the best.
We went to see the reservations manager the next day, although he wasn't in until late morning and realized there wasn't just a few people being relocated there was at least 60 people waiting, some who had refused to go to Norida! He explained that the hotel had overbooked and that it would be at least 4 days before we could be moved back! It was not acceptable especially since we had gone out to meet family who had no problem the week before when they got there! The hotel offered us compensation, about 40 euros each which we turned down because it was not enough!
We were eventually moved back 4 days later but found out it had happened to about 300 people that week alone! I don't quite understand how you overbook by that many people!! At least we were there for 2 weeks though, some people were only there for a week and spent most of their holiday in a completely different hotel.
When we got back to Englanc we decided to chase a complaint through our Thomas Cook branch, it went to Head Office and Flexitrips and we heard nothing back from them for 4 months. What they did offer us eventually 6 months after we had originally sent in out complaint as compensation was pitiful, £120 for all that hassle and it was in voucher form so we have to book with them again!
Other than that the hotel is lovely, relaxing, entertainments a bit dodgy but I don't go for that anyway! Food was always good as you had the choice of so many restaurants too.
However because of the overbooking I wouldn't go back as I wouldn't want to risk it! When you pay a lot to stay in a 5* hotel you actually expect to stay there, not in it's lower class sister hotel.

We stayed here as a family of 4 in the summer of 2013. This is a very nice Hotel to look at, the bars were very nice, but little seating areas for the amount of guests staying. The restaurants also pleasant, if you can manage to get a table. The swimming pools excellent to look at from all areas of the hotel, but they are SALT WATER. We watched a man poor scoops and scoops of salt into the pools water system (Which was so strong it burnt our son's skin, along with some other children who came out of the pool crying, I wonder if he has had any training or knows from a safety point of view, just how much should be placed in there. The grounds are beautiful. The staff was not very friendly at Check-in, and not very helpful when we reported the annoying noises coming from the wood in the ceiling of our room which was clearly infested by some sort of wood insect that kept us up every night for the 7 days we were there. We was offered a chance to change room but the room we were shown and the only room available had mould looking grey patches in the shower room and the same wooden ceilings. Good luck!

Lovely hotel, nice food but was difficult to reserve a table for the restaurants. Great location, lots of pools but very salty. Beach and beach bar were very nice, easy to grab a sunbed and a nice drink or snack. Great holiday and would definately return

4 of us (3 adults and 1 child aged 3) stayed at Mitis Blue Domes in May of this year. My family originates from the island of Kos and before travelling I did extensive research on the best place to stay on the island. I found it very difficult to get information on this hotel, besides the other tripadvisor reviews their website was not very imformative. Given the star rating though and the little information I obtained we decided to book it. We got a great internet all inclusive deal too! Im writing this review in the hopes of putting some further information out there for others that might be interested in this property.

For starters it is a little out of town (Kardamena) which we didn't mind. the hotel is right next door to Mitsis other property (Family Village) which is older and much less luxurious looking. Most of the resorts in Kos are a little far removed from the villages though and taxis and buses are super easy to arrange.

The first impression of the hotel is that it is so large that it's a little overwhelming but it really doesn't take too long at all to familiarise yourself with the area. Check in is a breeze with lots of staff at reception and you are taken to your room via a golf cart. The rooms are large and luxuious with very comfortable beds and lots of space to move around.

One thing I wondered about when I was researching is the mention of 14 pools! I was not convinced that a property could have this many and was sure they counted little ponds and fountains as pools. I was wrong. The property does in fact have this many pools. We practically had a huge pool right putside our room to ourselves and the design and layout of the whole resort makes you feel like you have your own private villa with your own pool!

The food and drink is of excellent standard. I highly recommend the full board. The buffet is AMAZING. They offer buffet breakfast lunch and dinner and it is all SUPERB. Best food I've ever had at any hotel and I've travelled extensively. Must try the pizza!!! Look for it on the terrace!!! There are also some other little restaurants dotted around which are all also included in the full board option. Portions aren't huge but the food is great. If I had to be picky I would say the sushi place isn't very authentic but I'm very spoilt when it comes to japanese food living in Sydney!!!

There is a miniature castle kids club!!! and a huge lazy river style childrens wading pool which is unbelievable for kids. My 3 year old had the time of her life!!!

Overall I highly recommend this resort. Super value for money and also a decent level of tourists which is not always the case in all-inclusive resorts on greek islands!!

It is a beautiful resort, the rooms are comfortable and well furnished. I especially liked the shutters covering the french doors and all the wooden features. The housekeeping side was excellent during our stay. When we arrived which was fairly late in the evening were informed that the dining room was open with limited service which was a welcome change from other resorts which only offered cling film wrapped sweaty rolls. Drinks service in the dining area is very good as is the clearing of plates, the food caters for all tastes and is well prepared. In addition to the main dining area there are six eateries round the pool bar which offer a varied range of cuisine if you fancy a lite bite. You can also book for the themed restaurants but as others have mentioned this can ptove difficult. Whilst there is much to applaud at this resort some things could have been thought through from the perspective of the customer. The block we stayed in was fairly near the main reception but we had to walk the length of the block then up 4 flights of stairs and back along the whole block to get to our room. The only lift I saw was in the lower bar area to the dining area. There are alot of steps to get anywhere, having said this you could ask reception for someone to taxi you in their golf carts. Plenty of pools, beach is nice loungers comfortable but a lot in need of repair. I should imagine in the summer the loungers could be in short supply. The queue outside the dining area crosses in front of the upper bar which is also where you have to book for the themed restaurants so it can get quite congested, you stand on the right to eat outside and the left to dine inside. I would like to mention the animation team who put their all into their shows. During the day they came around the resort to inform you of the activities and chat but were not intrusive. They chatted if encouraged and drew youinto conversations with other guests if this was indicated. If the management are reading this you should commend Zuzu who gave 100% to his job and was so great with everyone especially the children. Would I recommend this resort, deginitely but be aware of all of the above.
