“Unbelievably poor customer service”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

The Blue domes business plan is very simple and not particularly subtle; it is a massive, relatively well presented resort that aims to entice a high volume of holiday makers with the promise of a 5 star stay. The resort is quantity driven with little or no attention to providing a quality service. The major investments into the resort have been made into the tangible areas that can be easily conveyed in marketing campaigns. There is absolutely no attention to detail in terms of customer service and the staff attitude on the whole is appalling. Staff seem poorly trained and lacking in motivation/enthusiasm. Basic information is not readily offered and can be difficult to glean. our experiences in nearby towns  were far more favorable but ironically this resort is turning them into ghost towns due to its all inclusivity. Overall,  This hotel is a very poor advertisement for the hospitality industry in Kos.

The entertainment is very poor, the food is average at best, the themed restaurants are mediocre, the pools are freezing and very salty. The only positive is the standard of our room which was pleasant however not 5 star.

We enjoyed 10 days at this beautiful hotel! The hotel was very busy on the Saturday we arrived. Loads of rude East Europians around. The room was lovely and spacious, cleaned every day and the mini bar restocked. I have to agree with all the other reviews regarding the rudeness of the staff. The tall lady at reception was extremely rude and unhelpfull. Sometimes I wondered if it was a language barrier thing because some of the male waiters in the main restaurant looked at you as if you were from another planet. But in the end we thought that they were just exhausted after 6 months working long shifts. If you're planning on going next year, please avoid the end of season. The food was excellent in our first week but this week it seemed as if they were trying to use everything before its sell by date. I.e the first week there were 6 different cereals, on Wednesday when we left there were 3??? The rest of the island has also shut shop, hardly anything open. Kos town was a good day out, but there was no day trips left to Turkey and the other islands. Blue Domes is great for families and my kids loved it.
All the negatives aside, we had a great time. Kids ate their weight in ice cream and pancakes and we got our Vit D before the winter!!

Room Tip: Book a masionette. They are very spacious with two bathrooms.

returned to blue dome having holidayed there in oct 2011.mainly due to the good weather for october and quality of hotel and food. once again it did not dissapoint on food quality and choice.certainly amongst the best all inclusive we have seen.rooms beatiful and clean, maid service excellent, mini bar refilled.unfortunately there were many rude east europeans who marched around the dining areas like they had never had a meal before and queueing was not for them! the staff in restaurant and bars were not particlarly attentive and in some cases rude which really lets the hotel down.they also ran out of drinks a lot or had no milk for tea or coffee at some bars which is not really acceptable in a 5star plus hotel.this did not happen once but several times in our week long stay.this was brought to the attention of the bar manager by our party but was dealt with with a very defensive attitude and basically was not seen as a problem that should be complained about.the other shambolic and somewhat laughable matter is the way they deal rain! the pool bar restaurants flood and no real effort is made to remove water, they simply shut shop and stand around and say no service!had they had a brush handy the water could have been removed within 10 minutes!the management are clearly neither pro active or reactive and it shows throughout with the general attitude of the staff.we may have been unfortunate with it being so close to the end of season and rumour had it that staff had not been paid for a few weeks but mitsis really need to get a hold of this element of the blue domes as it is spoiling what should be a 5 star hotel and only offers probably a 2 or 3 star service.

Room Tip: all rooms are lovely

I'm sure it's an excellent complex in mid season. But at the end of season too many facilities do not operate and various things are closing during our stay. If half the guests wrote a review of there experiance for the last few days it would ruin the following summer for this hotel.

A beautiful hotel in a stunning location. Rated 5 stars but did not supply any black tea/bags, guests had to go out and buy their own. When we asked if there was any black tea the member of staff that we asked said "I don't know what it is with you British, there are camomile, lemon, peppermint and peach tea but all you want is black" Butter was not supplied, it was margarine which I do not eat, I ate dry bread/toast throughout my stay at this 5 star hotel. My husband and I took our seven year old grandson with us, we took him to the burger bar where they gave you approx. ten chips with your burger, when we asked for a separate order for chips, we were refused outright and told that there were now new rules and we couldn't have any. On two separate occasions prior to this we had been given a saucer with about another 20 chips on it, just enough for the child. Absolutely despicable service. We were told that if we wanted some extra chips we would have to order a burger to get some. My husband and I did not want a burger, so we were not given the chips. I did go to the management who said that the staff wouldn't do this because they were an all inclusive hotel. He didn't make any attempt to go to the burger bar with me or send anyone else to deal with the problem to question why they were refusing food to guests. Every day in the internet room the electricity was switched off by the fuse box so no one could charge their ipad/computer. As there was no electricity, there were no lights on in the internet room either, even when it got dark. One day I went to the main reception and asked a manager if they could put the electricity on because I wanted to read, he said that he would send someone to put the lights on, but half an hour later at about 5 p.m. we were still sat in the dark. I then went to ask the man at the bar if he would call reception and ask them to put the electricity back on, he said that someone would do it in a few minutes. Ten minutes later I went back again to ask if he would please put the light on, the guy became angry with me and said that the bar does not open until 6 p.m. I said but I don't want a drink, I want the light on so that I can read my book. By this time there were about ten/twelve people sat in the room and everyone had heard the conversation between us. About another five minutes later two guys came with a set of keys, opened the cupboard in the corner of the room and flicked the fuse switch, the lights came on. We just felt that we were just a nuisance by being there. We understand that the hotel was closing four days after we left and that this was probably the reason that they didn't want to order more tea bags, butter etc. but guests should not have to go out and buy their own, the least that the hotel could have done was go out themselves and buy teabags for the guests. They claim to have a gym, there was one cross trainer in the gym and absolutely nothing else, how they are allowed to call it a gym I do not know. There is no heated swimming pool at all at this hotel, not even inside which you have to pay extra for too, 15 euros every time that you use it. All the pools outside are stunning but freezing for adults and children alike. This was my first trip to Kos, Greece, but I will never return, I will never recommend to any friends that they go there either. We paid a lot of money for this all inclusive hotel and what do you say to a seven year old that asks "Why can't I have some more chips grandma". My opinion, Absolutely shameful to be rated 5 stars.

its brand new and built originally to operate as a 5* hotel however it is operated as an all inclusive hotel .
rooms and areas are excellent and brand new !
restaurants as plenty , however quality of food is average .
plenty of pools i think 17 on the premises and lenghty beach areas infront which makes it very easy to have your own place in the sun.
you can also use the facilities of the nearby Mitsis Norinda Hotel which is a plus .

This complex if very nice, we had a bungalow down near the sea and the rooms are clean and modern. There are lots of pools so plenty of sun beds.

This was the last week the hotel was open in the season and some guest were moved here from other hotels which is why there were a few 'let downs' like no tea bags. The food in the main buffet was your normal 'not very good at all' food and the four restaurants that you had to book at 10pm and sometimes queue for 20 minutes were average. The six restaurants that were in the middle of the complex and not bookable were quite.

I think this hotel is good for families and for a Greek island probably is a 5 star, I would not return but for a week of last minute sunshine was a good tonic, just a shame about the food and bed comfort.

Room Tip: if you dont mind the walk the bungalows by the sea are the best
